    If you need to break your car windows in an emergency, do not aim for the center, as it’s actually the strongest part. Aim for the edges, instead!

    These are fascinating! You are so clever.
    My grandmother (born in 1898) taught me so many old fashioned house care routines, including proper bed linens(she had a mangle!) her old icebox was still in the kitchen, used as pantry space. I was fascinated with here almost scientific approach to home care- she explained all to me very seriously- how to butter toast, using baking soda for soft scrubbing, we made jam and something called ‘raspberry vinegar’ which I see is now called a ‘shrub’- a syrup concentrate to make beverages.
    Anyway, so much love to you. 💕

    I think that some of these are handy uses that developed after the product was designed... like the juice box tabs, and I think the soda bottle neck is designed to reduce the surface area of the drink touching air to keep carbonation in longer!

    • @katierojas8066
      @katierojas8066 5 лет назад +1

      Anna Timm I was thinking the same! The soda can tab being used as a straw holder? U could still put a straw down in the opening of the soda can. And I agree w u regarding the carbonation in the soda bottle!

    • @karenmarr8321
      @karenmarr8321 5 лет назад +7

      Using the tab on the soda can for your straw keeps the straw from floating up toward the top of the can and possibly falling out of the can when it is full.

    • @katierojas8066
      @katierojas8066 5 лет назад +3

    The juice box thing works a treat. I learned about it when my eldest was 6mo (he's 9 now and my other son is 7 and they open them this way themselves now - even if you don't hold the tabs as handles it still stops liquid squirting out when you insert the straw). Whenever I am at a gathering and give my kids a juice box I always blow some other mum's mind with how I don't spill them. They really should have a diagram on the box lol.

    11:24 “I don’t know what possessed me to buy Ginger ale..”
    My parents always bought us ginger ale when our tummies were sick/flu. After learning they actually have little to no ginger in them and not being a soda fan, I now like to take ginger capsules or drink ginger tea (but soda can still be very helpful for people.) Both are great for bloating, gas discomfort, and nausea. It’s one of the first questions I’m going to ask my doctor WHEN I GET PREGNANT- “can I take my ginger capsules?” Ginger has so many health benefits! ;)

    Hey all. Great video - I have a tip for you to share on your next one! Did you know that Oxo stock cubes in the foil wrappers are meant to have the flaps pulled out until it's the shape of a mini crisp packet / pocket, which gives you space to crush the cube into granules so it dissolves quicker, then open the foil packet and use! To think of all the time I wasted trying to unwrap the foil without knowing I should just make it easier by unfolding it!?

      What she says is BS, does jpt make sense at all, sewing the cotton onto the main fabric would not even use extra material,they would just saw it on instead of just making a seam... It's there purely for hygienic reason,does not matter if it sewed on or other. You only get more air down there if it's not sewed on so it's actually better for you that way.
