Great fun info, so here’s 1 I didn’t know- in your car next to the little gas tank that tells you your fuel level is also an arrow to indicate which side the tank is on, this actually comes in handy if you’re fueling up a rental or someone’s car. You know which side of the tank to pull up on
I'm not sure but I really think jeans were more durable in the beginning. People didn't have money to replace them and their work was much harder generally, so their clothes had to last a long time. I'm 77 and I remember much thicker denim.
Hi Dottie F, My husband and I had this conversation a few years ago about how when we were younger, and back in the 1970's, our jeans lasted for years. For the past maybe 20 years I've had to buy him a set of new jeans every year. He wears them to work and at home. Walmart started carrying Levi's, I thought great I'll get him several pairs and these will last, not. A month later he had rips and tares all over them. The Levi's I bought in 1977 I wore until 1985, because I gained weight and they no longer fit, not because they wore out. And I washed them every time I wore them too. I find it hard to grow old and remember how good things used to be and no longer are. These kids will never understand how badly they are being screwed over, because they don't know how good it used to be. ☺️✌️🖖👵👴 😷
I put away a couple pairs of my favorite jeans when I got pregnant with my son, about 30 years ago. (Planning on wearing them again when I lost the baby weight, but then forgot about them!) Found them in a box a few years ago, I was SHOCKED by the difference in the materials! When I put them away, I thought the old ones were well worn, faded and soft, but in perfect condition otherwise. But, comparing them to some I'd just bought a few months before was really eye opening! The fabric is *maybe* 1/3rd of the weight/thickness and the color retention was just ridiculous! The old "faded" jeans were still several shades darker than the pairs that were only a few months old (and washed 3 or 4 times, compared to the ones that had been washed probably close to a hundred times over the 4 or 5 years I wore them before putting them away! Where I think they've been able to get people to accept this is the trade off in softness. My old "butter soft" jeans, really aren't soft - never were and never will be compared to the new fabrics. For all their failings, the newer fabrics are smooth, forgiving and truly very, very soft, from the first wash. We've traded jeans that were made with phenomenal fabrics that wore like iron, for jeans that have a little give and are as soft as old flannel jammies. Yes, we're getting screwed, especially if you're looking for the work pants that they were originally made to be, those days seem to be over.
The thing with keyboard keys allignment is not to slow you down, but quite opposite: to allow you type faster without the keys getting stuck in by clinging together. They have checked which letters go together the most often an moved them further from one another, so that pressing them in a short time would not block the machine. So you are right about the not-to-clutch part here :) My favourite feature I did not know was the food-warming part of an oven :)
The French keyboard is quite different, f.i. first line of keys begins with "AZERTY". Letters/keys are placed according to their occurrence in French words..
I'm basically living on RUclips during quarantine, thanks Brittany for giving me something to do and go round my house and see how many are the same on my things.
It also gets rust off, I used it to get rust off an old bike. You can ball it up or fold it, which ever feels more comfortable, them rub the rust right off of the metal. Magic.
The high heeled shoes also gave a graceful curve to the calf when wearing knee pants. I am 71 years old and I have known most of these for about 45 years or more. Life lessons, I guess.
If drivers didn’t know about the centre mirror tab then they shouldn’t be allowed to past their driving test. Here in the UK, you are trained to know things like that during your driving lessons. Great video. Interesting about the Play-doh.

I have been watching you what seems like forever!!! I love your diy nail video... Probably my favorite! But I love everything you put out! These are always so interesting. Hearing that you didn’t know about the rear view mirror just shows how there are some things we need to be taught. I think it’s great that you are sharing these tidbits for us!
Hello. Watching this with my twin boys 12 year olds. “ Oh it’s this lady we haven’t seen her in a while wonder how her baby is doing” I thought it was sweet that they pay attention to these details. Love my boys.
The qwerty keys set up wasn't to slow people down it was to space out the most commonly used letters so the typewriter arms of those letters weren't side by side because the would get stuck on each other if hit simultaneously. They didn't want to slow typing down, it was to speed it up by not having to stop to fix tangled letter arms.

It’s not a warming drawer. I’ve had a few ovens over the years an one of them had a warming drawer which had an element inside and a switch to turn it on. Ovens with no switch it’s just for storage
@Rick Baan Same here. I don't believe there is any hard and fast rule about the drawers. I've used both warming and broiler drawers and have never seen a separate switch! To use, you just turned on the oven like usual. I'd really say if you don't know what you've got, and can't access a manual, turn on the oven, then get down there and really look and feel to see what you've got. I do believe *most* electric stove/ovens have storage drawers, but wouldn't bet my good cookware on it, as I have seen/used one of those with a broiler drawer, too!

Haha, never gonna put my food in a drawer that's basically on the floor. Storage it has been and storage it will remain! But I have to say, that tape measure fact blew my mind!!
Not all ovens have a warming drawer. Sometimes the drawer is exactly that, a drawer. Check your owners manual to find out before trying to use it as such. Some even have a broiler in the drawer if it's a gas stove. Sending love and blessings!

Yes, even in the nineties, jeans were thicker and more durable. Also a lot of denim smells like strong chemicals now.
Yes! I had jeans from the 70’s last until 2000.
I dislike Jean material today. Adding stretch is the worst idea! It’s inferior material.
The oven my mom had growing up the bottom drawer was a "broiler" she used it to make fish. And when not in use pans went in. 😁

I was going to say the same thing. People didn't have as many clothes and had to take more wear and tear than in more recent times.
That’s what I was thinking
I’ve always kept my baking pans beneath the oven, I definitely thought it was just for extra storage. I can’t imagine putting food there!
And why not keep it in the oven?

@@thecatatemyhomework yeah ate my words on that one.
Yep, all part of the elite’s plan.
The warming drawer grosses me out. It feels too close to the floor to be putting food in...maybe I’m just weird for this🤷🏻♀️
In most stoves this drawer is not enclosed, dust etc gets in there.
Right!!
I agree. When we had mice last spring (weather change, not dirty!) there was mouse poop in there🤢
They used to put the broiler down there!

Haha, never gonna put my food in a drawer that's basically on the floor. Storage it has been and storage it will remain! But I have to say, that tape measure fact blew my mind!!
Where did she talk about food in a drawer🤷🏼♀️
Nikki Dale like the very first thing. Lol
Nikki Dale The drawer at the bottom of a typical oven isn’t for storage, it’s a food warming drawer.
@@tiffanysantana7333 🤣🤣🙋🏼♀️moron here
These fun facts have been the best ! Number one video's of all time! Thanks am sharing with everyone!
Not all ovens have a warming drawer. Sometimes the drawer is exactly that, a drawer. Check your owners manual to find out before trying to use it as such. Some even have a broiler in the drawer if it's a gas stove.
Sending love and blessings!
the heels were probably the most surprising 😂 and you should’ve had ryan come out in them
"Let's be honest most of us are probably not wearing jeans right now"

Neon Wombat why did she have to call me out like that lol
I always enjoy your channel.

Ha! It is a really good day if I even put pants on right now. Ha! 🤩
Many of these I didn’t know, so I’m sharing with friends and family! Thank you!!
"Most of us are probably not wearing jeans right now" I feel so called out!
Omg I almost had a mini heart attack when Carter screamed while she was talking about IKEA lol. I’m watching this late at night using AirPods and it sounded like it was right next to me hahahaha
Brenda Florentino-Weinstein me too!!!
That oven warmer drawer is basically our random old pans hideout 😂😂
I knew it's purpose but in my family that is the perfect "bread Box". 😄🍞
I don't have one!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Lol!
Glad to know I'm not the only one. 😁
Here is your 100 like
I put my husband's Christmas gift there. He will never check there.
Very kind of you. As well , makes me feel like you are connected to people in general. Thank you
I knew almost all of these; except for the fabric swatch (I've never even seen a swatch in my clothing, lol.) Great video, though, because I had kind of forgotten about some of them.
Surprisingly, I knew most of these. I was impressed with myself.🤪
same here. I'm watching this saying "people really didn't know these things"
The tape measure number in the bottom would have saved me a lot of time trying to bend the actual tape for measurements!!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
Love you, Girl! I learned over half❤️ Look forward to your next video!
I didn’t know about : warmer drawer, tape measure, coins, play doh and sunglasses. How cool is that. Thanks for continuing to give us reviews and fun facts.
I didn't realize that most people didn't know what the tab on the rear view mirror was for. I think I remember studying it during my learner's test 22 years ago.
I love these kinds of facts. Especially the historical ones!
At my age I should have known about the oven drawer! Thank you! ♥️♥️♥️
Who else was waiting for Ryan to come out with heels at the end? 😂
