I've covered the Markiplier Cinematic Universe over on Game Theory. So when I saw that he dropped a video of Warfstache as some FNAF animatronic inspired automaton, I knew I HAD to check it out. So today Theorists, I am going to be interviewed by Wilford Warfstache himself... sort of!

Freddit is a nightmare (no pun intended) and I can't expect MatPat to explain everything, nor do I agree with everything he says.
He probably has very little time to play the AR game. It's a different experience, although it's not like you have to go anywhere like the Niantic games. Maybe Illumix will eventually add some kind of stops. They don't have to. They're not Niantic. But people such as Dawko have suggested Pokéstop type things.
well he's the *K I N G* of FNAF. I wouldn't be surprise if he wants to be the co-creator of it.

I thought it was a reference to the death of Markiplier in Who killed Markiplier. Mark said that he thinks they were playing Russian Roulette, but nothing is cannon unless it’s in a video. I guess now it’s in a video
All of it is based on Who killed Markiplier, even when you get the ending "yes" or "no" it recommends you "Who killed Markiplier?" on screen.
If you are really into the lore, everything he says makes sense
It seems more likely to be wilford referencing him accidentally killing mark since literally right before then he talks about “two old friends meeting again and playing a dangerous game”. He didn’t know the gun was loaded and while wilford and mark were playing Russian roulette, mark died
Also he says "I.... saw.... you.... die" which is obviously about us dying on WKM because of Wilford.
Since the point he said that I knew it was lore based.
I love how MatPat didn’t notice “Acceptable Murder Parameters” also, there are multiple references to the “Who Killed Markiplier” series Mark did. “I... Saw... you... die”, as an example, is a reference to how Warfstash goes insane after clearly killing you by accident, and seeing you wake up a few hours later
Everything you just said, except replace "love" with "hate" because I hate when people claim to be super observant and then ignore lore points just to make "funny" "jokes".

They couldn't get Mark to do it, he was too busy, so Matt will have to do.
I thought the guilt that the robot has was WIlford's own guilt from "Who killed markiplier?" and wilford also mentions that it was a perfect recreation of his mind, meaning what we heard from the robot is actually from Wilford himself which helps support this.
That's what I'm thinking too! Since it's a "perfect scan of [his] noggin" it must mean that even though Worf doesn't consciously remember, SOME part of him does
It is, but it's not about how he killed us, but how he killed Markiplier. With the reference to Russian Roulette (the most dangerous game) and the talk about seeing us die, it's mostly tied back to Markiplier TV and Who killed Markiplier.
This gives us more insight into how Serge became Warfstache. Picking "No" at the end shows that better than yes.

Personally, I think the robot has the personality or “soul” of who the Colonel was (prior to becoming Warfstache), which is why he questions who he actually is during the video
that's what i was think. he also mentions that he doesn't remember who he is, which ties back to the fact that wilf came form the cornal. and who he killed was the person you played.

The “I didn’t know the gun was loaded” made me gasp when I first “played” the animatronic thing. I was also kinda proud that I remembered stuff from who killed markiplier. It’s so sad how the creation of darkiplier fucked Wilford up to the point where he doesn’t even understand death as a concept because of how the death of his friends traumatized him so much and then seeing someone come back to life just really pushed him over the edge :(

I mean timeline wise if we were getting serious, this would be around modern day so before FNAF Security Breath.

Just for anyone who was confused the Wilford animitronic was referring to when he killed Actor Mark in Who Killed Markiplier? while playing Russian roulette. They'd gotten drunk then Actor Mark asked to play roulette with Wilford in the basement, planning to be killed as a way to tarnish Wilford's name to get revenge for Wilford taking Celine from him.
Plus, he says "I saw you die", which most likely means our character is the D.A, the same person we play in Who Killed Markiplier.

@@MarcyTheKindaCoolWizard When we enter the party in WKM, we hand the Butler an invitation marked "District Attorney", or at least something similar. Plus, the D.A has been friends with Damien since at least college, while we obviously never met him before the events of WKM.
I'm sad he didn't go through all the choices. Each time you die there's new lore spoken at the end. He got the first one which was "I tell you," but he missed the other two which were "it was an accident" and "there's still time"
Yeah, I hope he makes a follow up video where he tries to figure out the lore. That would be cool. I’m still trying to figure it out myself.

So, the lore Wilford-bot is talking about is from Who Killed Markiplier. Wilford is actually the Colonel. He saw his friend, the viewer, die. He didn't know the gun was loaded, and didn't know what would happen. The viewer died, but was then posessed by Celine and Damien, and got up.
the accepted theory is that warf is actually admitting guilt for killing markiplier but he also does say "I saw you die" so he could be remembering that too (theres also apparently a scene of the colonel playing russian roulette)

He must have known the gun was loaded when he killed us after he killed Abe, but he didn’t know that it was loaded when he and Mark played Russian Roulette while drunk

On the video, someone suggested that Wilford created the robot because he couldn't handle the guilt from shooting his friend. And obviously that isn't a pre-recorded message due to Wilford knowing you said "Potato salad". In 'Wilford "Motherloving" Warfstache', Wilford refers to the detective as an "old friend", suggesting that he is the one that he is talking about here. Also Wilford seems to transcend time and space.
Edit: Another comment on here says that the friend is Markiplier himself while playing Russian Roulette, and then everyone else dies afterwards
Yeah I believe that Abe, the detective, is still alive. Warfstache, as the colonel, killed Mark in Who Killed Markiplier. Something that I don’t believe has been specified happened to Damien (the Mayor) and the lady in Who Killed Markiplier that I cant remember the name of. The colonel accidentally shoots your character/the viewer and they fall backwards off the second floor and die. Not long after something happens and Damien’s(?) body stands back up and is Darkiplier. The colonel sees the friend that he just saw die stand back up and kinda looses it from there. Warfstache has repressed those memories and can’t remember them at all but his mind was copied into the animatronic and the robot can’t choose to ignore those memories the same way Warfstache can. I’m pretty confident that all the events from Who Killed Markiplier are what the robot talks about and references. Warfstache can’t remember his time as the colonel, but the robot can.
I think it is prerecorded, since both the yes and no choices end with Warfstache saying the same thing, despite whatever the robot's reply to you is. Warfstache has previously demonstrated precognitive abilities, so that's probably how he knew you would answer potato salad.
also, if you listen closely after the dial-up you can hear some numbers. I think it says 214.

I think the ‘dangerous game’ was actually Russian roulette, because in Who Killed Markiplier Chapter 1, there is a drunk scene. In that scene, you can see Wilford (or, as he was known at the time, the Colonel) aiming a gun at his own head in a similar fashion. The next morning, Markiplier is found dead. I wonder what that’s about...

Weren't they referencing "The Most Dangerous Game" as in the story? Considering they mentioned hunting man, drinking wine, and the acres of space, I'm 90% sure that what they were referencing. The word game in this isnt a literal game, but game as in something you would hunt, like rabbit or things like that.

@@cassie4516 He was absolutely referencing The Most Dangerous Game, a 1924 short story by Richard Connell. He tends to harken back to literature and theater reasonably often. He really *is* an intellectual. In that story a man invites someone over, gives him wine, tells him stories of all the great game he has hunted and intimates that he wishes to hunt the 'most dangerous' game, man. The wine was drugged and the man wakes up in the wild of the insane hunters' private island, and the rest of the story is him trying to survive. Mat made enough references to things in that story that I feel fairly confident that was the intended reference. It probably just made him think of that story. I know it did me.
The Willford story about him shooting a friend is most likely from "Who Killed Markiplier" cus he shoots us and we were his friend-

He said since he didn't show it directly in who killed Markiplier it wasn't technically cannon, but now that it has been officially described here, I'm pretty sure this makes it cannon. Neat.
The hunting people thing (most dangerous game) could also be from wilford motherloving warfstache as he is being hunted by the detective and they call back to wilford shooting the detective in the heart and when he first realizes it is 'abe' he talks like he is his friend

The reason he said, "He's technically a part of the fnaf universe" is because Mark did an in-universe promo for fnaf AR. But there is a surprisingly good amount of evidence that he'll be in the movie.

Wilford was in Heist, depending on which ending you chose. In fact, it's an interview similar to this, and he does in fact have a gun. But, I do believe the brain scan in the animatronic is more from when Warf was the Colonel during Who Killed Markiplier

If you remember, in Who Killed Markiplier, the colonel turned into Wilfard. So he probably has forgotten that he was ever the colonel.

I mean, it may be a teaser for a new project, but mostly it's showing the inner guilt that Wilford feels from _Who Killed Markiplier._
"A man goes to a party. This man met an old friend. The two friends shared someone. The two friends played a game... The most dangerous game. I didn't know the gun was loaded. I didn't know... Was it my fault?" This is literally a retelling of the Colonel and Actor Mark's relationship. The party is self explanatory, the two friends are Wilford and Actor Mark, the shared someone is Celene, the most dangerous game is the Russian Roulette that the Actor set up so he'd be killed by the Colonel, and the Colonel didn't know the gun was loaded. Then, there's "I saw you die", which is in reference to when we, the viewer, got killed and revived at the end of _Who Killed Markiplier,_ and the Colonel goes mad.
Wilford is the Colonel who's just gone insane in this purgatory he's found himself in, and the Automoton is his inner guilt personified.

I loved watching this "Behind The Scenes" style of theories and excellent commentary on both yours and Chris' part, respectively! I've watched through every outcome and I have to say this chunk of videos has some awesome lore and information! Not to mention it's just really funny (and spooky)

The entire interview is based off of when Wilford wharf stash/the Colonel, kills our point of view in Who killed Markiplier

Well if he saw WKM it would be obvious since at that time we know that Colonel and Actor go to the basement(wine cellar), play it and Colonel shoots Actor not knowing the gun was loaded. @@kai.skorner as much as I'd love a theory on what Jack is working on, I'm afraid there isn't much to go off of in my opinion. Jack takes a long while to make and release his lore plans (so that he doesn't make a disappointing story or a misleading bit), and with all that we've actually gotten so far, I highly doubt Matt can make a theory with it. We don't even know where Jackieboy even plays in all this and what he's doing. So until Jack releases some more substantial videos, the theories are gonna have to wait :)

@@spirethe30th16 there is an older video by mark where he explains wkm. the original idea was that Warfstache and mark played roulette in the wine celler from wkm, but mark loaded the gun to set up Warfstache and make it look like murder. that is wat he means by "was it my fault".
I did some work with this video and looked into the death scenes… this is what I found:
Death scene 1: I tell you… me
Death scene 2: It was an accident
Death scene 3: there’s still time
That means wilford really did give this robot part of his mind and it’s remembering that wilford killed his friends and is trying to say sorry for the crimes he thought he made and the close to last proves my theory… I sound like Mat right now
