It's creepy I think mainly to people born in the 2000s because the people who grew up in that time were creating kids shows, inspired by their own childhood, which creates an eerie feel of distorted nostalgia when seeing 70s and 80s
I feel this way about the 60s/70s. I was born in the 80s, so I have this view of the 80s aesthetic as being really cool instead. I wonder if the view that the 80s are scary is more of a thing with people born later? I stumbled upon that one 3d animated part around 23:30 while looking for the “oldest animation.” It was created in the 70’s (which honestly, amazing that the creator found something from that time frame to use), and it totally freaked me out. I think it’s basically what MatPat mentioned about it being so old and “grimy” as to what freaked me out about it.
This is actually very possible, I just couldn't understand why Walten appeared suddenly on the tapes like in the backpack, this theory makes a lot of sense
I believe that Jack is the cause of all the corruptions and glitches in the videos, jack is trying to be heard and reveal what's happening. I think Jack is like a poltergeist or a ghost in the machinery. That said if jack is in the tapes, who's inside Bon?
@@southhoney Squimpus participate on them, if you see the chapter 3 credits you will see squimpus voiced one of the characters, i just don't remember who is it
I thought I was going to be terrified. And I was but I just couldn't take it when Matt starts laughing, I just start losing it while being horrified. Love this video.
20:33 what i find is really creepy is how the real footage has the sign and stuff like, this story isn't real but it feels real because it's real footage and it looks like the K-9 facility is real like it looks like he's shining a flashlight at a real building
right? it doesn't have that glossy, polished feeling of mainstream movies and TV. part of it has to do with the intentionally low quality footage, but it's not just that. I don't mean to say TWF isn't polished. I mean it like, imagine mainstream movies and TV are theater shows that are performed on a big stage, and TWF is performed on a random sidewalk. when there's a stage, it is very clearly separated from the audience and from reality. there's a distance between the audience and the action. but when it's on the sidewalk, there's no distance.
@@drippyfresh9471 yeah, it feels gritty. I think MatPat compared it to the Blair witch project at one point, and I agree. it just feels like random footage a regular person might take. there's no professional movement, there's no cinematic wide angle views, the camera looks like it's just pointed directly where the person is looking.
there's a lot more focus on dread and uncannyness as opposed to jumpscares like some others (like Squimpus's FNAF training tapes) and the not-so-professional artistry actually works in his series' favor.
Quick take: I love the energy MatPat brings to the, "HEY GUYS!" at the start of every video he does for this channel. Streams I can understand, because there's a chat to engage with. But with a video, you're just interacting with the camera and it's much harder to get that enthusiasm. Years of theatre did you well man!
The Red Cross still has those training videos. They’re still as over the top as you describe them. My favorite one is the “professional Vs unprofessional lifeguard” where the unprofessional lifeguard is like leaning against a pole, the guard tube is like lying beside him, his hat is on but it’s backwards and upside down. My coworkers and I still joke about it. It’s hilarious
wait wait- is there “he thought i was her” line from brian stells, ‘her’ being rose, and ‘he’ being bon (jack, stuffed inside bon) trying to make ‘her’ (rose) beautiful like he eventually did, and by beautiful bon was trying to bring rose into the restaurant with him because he missed his wife, and that’s also why witch and pumpkin are married in the mysterious house?
I watched the whole series so far and it was amazing, it is similar to fnaf at the beginning but evolves into it’s own story line. It is really scary and original, I definitely recommend it
Nice try, bro, I already watched all of the Walten files. Fucking terrifying and super depraved in some places, but still excellent. It's literally Fnaf, but with a story that's ten times better.
I’m rewatching this for the new GTLive to refresh myself on the lore. DUDE I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN MATPAT LOOKED OVER TO ASK MATT A QUESTION!! I freaking miss Matt.

Most youtubers reacting: “AHH ITS SO SCARY”
Matpat: *W H E E Z E*
I think FNAF desensitized him a bit to this type of horror
Me: Coll I bet I could take ‘em all out, END THE DEATHS
Imagine a game where matpat wrote the in depth multilayered lore
We would get like a thousand robot kids
sees a bunch a vhs tapes related to fnaf somehow.
Matpat: *immediately punches the computer*
I stumbled upon that one 3d animated part around 23:30 while looking for the “oldest animation.” It was created in the 70’s (which honestly, amazing that the creator found something from that time frame to use), and it totally freaked me out. I think it’s basically what MatPat mentioned about it being so old and “grimy” as to what freaked me out about it.
The feeling of this is that Walten got trapped inside of the Bon's Burgers tapes and is split apart between the videos
ikr! gives me glitchtrap vibes
This is actually very possible, I just couldn't understand why Walten appeared suddenly on the tapes like in the backpack, this theory makes a lot of sense
Plus at 14:49 you can see "let me out of here" on the TV, which pretty much supports your theory.
@@adamstepniewski4697 or the backpack scene is trying to represent jack getting killed by Felix and Felix stuffing jack into bon
I believe that Jack is the cause of all the corruptions and glitches in the videos, jack is trying to be heard and reveal what's happening. I think Jack is like a poltergeist or a ghost in the machinery.
That said if jack is in the tapes, who's inside Bon?
i love how he points out the unrealism of file saving system in an arcade game but ignores a 1982 game having voice acting
Imagine if a company actually made a cursed training tape they show to all their employees
You better be careful, Matpat.
If you've seen Battington or SquimpusMcGrimpus in your spare time, the Walten Files are MUCH more terrifying....
Oh gosh....not Squimpus-
i hope he watches them anyway
even if theyre traumatizing
@@southhoney Squimpus participate on them, if you see the chapter 3 credits you will see squimpus voiced one of the characters, i just don't remember who is it
This was legitimately terrifying. Whoever made this deserves an award.
Martin Walls he made it
Yeah what he said
Yeah what he said
yeah,what they said
Yeah, what the guys above me said
I love that Mat just laughs at all the creepy things lol. Makes watching The Walten Files a lot more tolerable
I’m glad the Walten files is getting more traction. It’s very underrated for being something so good
I agree.
Agree
Agreed.
@@sethescope like how the stage separates the entertainment from reality but when the low quality makes it look more real
**Me laughing because I’ve seen all of this two weeks ago while everyone is terrified**
...
Ok nvm I’m scared
Lol
When did you get scared?
@@jesterofthestars YES
The Walton Files are basically Discount FNaF but somehow is more scary.
ikr lol
The purple rabbit scares me bad
the animatronics are definitely more scary
Walten*
there's a lot more focus on dread and uncannyness as opposed to jumpscares like some others (like Squimpus's FNAF training tapes) and the not-so-professional artistry actually works in his series' favor.
the only way I can watch scary videos is with mat laughing hysterically at it all
Quick take: I love the energy MatPat brings to the, "HEY GUYS!" at the start of every video he does for this channel. Streams I can understand, because there's a chat to engage with. But with a video, you're just interacting with the camera and it's much harder to get that enthusiasm. Years of theatre did you well man!
Teaser, bon was saying "shadow man"
The bunnyfarm teaser, The voice was saying "I'm trying to come back"
It's actually Jack Walten indeed saying "I've been trying to contact you"! It's a voice clip from the official Bunnyfarm video :)
Maybe matpat was right?
The Red Cross still has those training videos. They’re still as over the top as you describe them. My favorite one is the “professional Vs unprofessional lifeguard” where the unprofessional lifeguard is like leaning against a pole, the guard tube is like lying beside him, his hat is on but it’s backwards and upside down. My coworkers and I still joke about it. It’s hilarious
Mom I’m scared, Matt’s being weird again T>T
You havent even seen Matt’s weird side. This is just him being normal lol
@@sprinkleman8103 *I think we can all agree on that*
Mom pick me up I am scared.
Oh thank god he chose to check these out. I've personally been too scared to watch them alone, so this is a lifesaver
baz and ryan already reviewed it
“Im gonna show these to Ollie later”
What a great dad
Matt: *being offended because bon said "sad old man"*
Bon who clearly said "shadow man":
wait what
“Not in the 1980’s..!”
*Bunnyfarm* : am I a joke to you?
i had to watch the walten files with mat reacting to it- i couldnt do it alone 😭 its so ridiculously well done it scares me half to death
I've watched it alone, biggest regret ever. Do not watch the Halloween episode alone. FUCKING TRUST ME
30:29 IT SOUND LIKE HE SAYING "I've been trained to compact you." LOL
"I've been trained to come back to you" or "We've been trying to contact you about your extended warranty"
_turns you into a compact mirror_
*screams as i am turned into a small garbage cube*
this series has messed with me in many different ways. good luck matpat, your gonna need it
I found the part where Bon deathstares you as Jack Walten comes you of the backpack genuinely hilarious.
@@heihogreenzx4704 lmao
@@persephone8587 NGL, it reminds me of old school YTPs.
wait wait- is there “he thought i was her” line from brian stells, ‘her’ being rose, and ‘he’ being bon (jack, stuffed inside bon) trying to make ‘her’ (rose) beautiful like he eventually did, and by beautiful bon was trying to bring rose into the restaurant with him because he missed his wife, and that’s also why witch and pumpkin are married in the mysterious house?
Actually he was talking about Sophie not rose
Her is Sophie
"I wonder what will happen?"
Is this a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared reference? I feel like it is.

I think the voice at the end of Walton files 3 is saying "I have been trying to come back to you", and not "I have been trying to contact you".
I think its “I’ve been trying to come back.”
well it's jack talking to felix on his voicemail.
Mat: "ok that jumpscare was a little goofy"
Bon: "and i took that personally"
I don't know what these videos are, but I can already feel my anxiety elevating-
Same.
It’s quite a good horror show . I suggest you watch it for yourself, I’ve been following this series for a while myself lol.
I have a question why do people do dash all the times at the end of their comment-
@@2SINISTER57 It's to signify their message being cut off as if something happened. Unless I got whooshed I dunno.

“Sad old man” sounds like “shadow man”. Could be either one.
29:52 When bon is worried about your car's extended warranty
I watched the whole series so far and it was amazing, it is similar to fnaf at the beginning but evolves into it’s own story line. It is really scary and original, I definitely recommend it
At 26:36 Bon said: Shadow Man, not "Sad Old Man" I just wanna say that to the people who dont understand
“I’ve been trying to come back to you”
Matt: I’ve been trying to contact you?
Actually no, it really is "trying to contact you". It makes a LOT more sense in the last few minutes of TWF 3.
About you extended car warranty?
In the one clip where he thought it said “sad old man” it actually says “shadow man”
I was thinking the same thing
Bon whispering, "I've been trying to contact you about your car's warranty"
This is terrifying, please keep watching this with us Matt, we need someone to hold our hand
Me getting scared with Mat : “I’m going to have nightmares toDaY”
Nice try, bro, I already watched all of the Walten files. Fucking terrifying and super depraved in some places, but still excellent.
It's literally Fnaf, but with a story that's ten times better.
I’m rewatching this for the new GTLive to refresh myself on the lore. DUDE I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN MATPAT LOOKED OVER TO ASK MATT A QUESTION!! I freaking miss Matt.
I KNOW RIGHT, HE SAID "MATT" AND I WENT OOOOOOMGGGGG HE'S HERE
30:40 He said, "I've been trained to COME BACK to you."
I heard "come back," but I can definitely hear "contact" too. It sounds like the speaker has an accent which makes contact and come back sound similar, so I don't know which one is right. it's garbled, so the disagreement/mystery is the point lol
@@sethescope Agreed.
This franchise is so much fun to think about and theorize about. All of the possibilities for this franchise is getting me excited.🤔😆
@@interstellarfox8037 RIGHT? God I love theorizing about creepy stuff, especially when I can scroll through comments and see people's ideas and different takes on the audio, either because they hear something different or because they heard something at all because I usually can't make out what garbled audio says until someone points it out.
I remember when MatPat played audio of Glitchtrap from the mobile version of FNAF help wanted, and I couldn't make any of it out until he said the words. then I went back and was able to hear it lol
@@sethescope SAME!!
