I see someone commented about the bolt grade issue already, I'll add that I would only use the washers to determine a height. Once I established that, I would use a piece of square bar steel or aluminum to make the riser. Either would be available at a metal supplier as a a remnant. Cut it to length if you have a band saw, or have the metal supply cut it to length. You can drill it with a drill press or a hand drill in a pinch. Best practice would be a tight fit on the hole and a piece of square bar stock that fully supports the base of the seat mount. I would add a bit of lock-tite. I wouldn't use the washers as a permanent solution because they don't support the seat base properly and are going to change how the bolt is being loaded in an accident. It's already a single-shear load, but positioning the seat base farhter off the anchor surface is going to multiply the shear force at the base and the washer setup will certainly allow more movement. A more ridged riser and a step up in bolt grade would be safer.

I have 2017 trd offroad 4x2 I hated the feel off my seats leaning backwards just as you described so I just went to lowes bought longer bolts & rubber bushings that was over 1" thick I drilled hole through them placed washer on the top & bottom turned out well gave me the lift I needed love it but have to watch my head every time I get in.

been craving a fix for my 2016 Camry as well. I'm 5' 6" and i only drive in the city, so sitting up high is really important to judge every corner of the car. there is an airbag in the seat for side collisions. plus of course with it being a car, if I'm boosted maybe 3 inches or more than my head will hit the roof. but this does seem worth a try. hopefully as long as the car is turned off, the new bolts won't trigger the air bag since the whole seat unit stays intact.

Thank you for watching my video. This mod helped me a lot. Now they sell adapters so you done have to use washers.

I would not use those cheap zinc grade/class 8.8 bolts for this. You should use 10.9 (or 12.9) metric grade/class hardened bolts for automotive seats. The bolts you used are not strong enough and can snap in a collision. When in doubt: new bolt should be the same grade/class as the bolt you are replacing. You can identify the grade/class of bolts by the markings on the head.

Great idea. Just curious. Does your back feel better on long drives than before the mod? I have the second gen and it kills me in any drive an hour or more.

Hello and thank you for watching my videos. I would say yes. I actually drove 2.5 hrs one way yesterday and it was much better on my back. My leg used to get numb as well on longer trips. The other thing I would like to mention is that you sit higher so that helps with the driving as well.

How many washers did you end up using for each side?

I ended up using 12 on the bottom and one on top. Thank you for watching my videos. The spacer helps a lot. My wife drove the truck and said it made a big difference.

Thank you for watching my video. I didn't want the washers sticking out plus that's the only ones they had at the time I bought them.
