Honestly idk what's up with this weird Korean culture of comparing people and highlighting/idolising some while ignoring others. It's not really a thing in the west or in other countries (I'm from Asia and we don't compare/idolise to this extent either). Nati has a quiet resolve and a mental fortitude that is unmatched! He may have been the most physically "weak" coming into this, but it's his way of putting mind over matter that is making him excel over everyone else. Even the little things like keeping quiet and pushing through show how much he excels at being disciplined in stressful situations. And the fact that he still remembers how to read korean and cooks Korean dishes regularly just shows how he deserves to be featured more prominently in the future because be really is all in on absorbing as much as he can. Well done, Nati!

What Nati is doing such a great job here is, when everyone else just carries the gun, Nati keeps the gun dry all the time, protecting it from water, mud, and dust.
In the real war those may jam the gun and could cause severe damage to the gun, to the carrier or other peers, so the instructors forces you to keep the gun high.
I can see Nati is very serious when he went through all of the training, like a real soldier.

It's actually kinda refreshing seeing the boys taking it seriously and putting in real work in a realistic setting (a lot of times experiences like this get toned down for shows) it's also so nice seeing them appreciating and showing respect to the other soldiers, they deserve it

Nati the MVP on this episode!! not a single whine or showinh how he's struggling. Just gritting his teeth and keep pushing forward! Nati of all the boys, looks weak and thin but proves himself that this is not all about physical this also mental strength🎉❤

I appreciate the South Korean Navy’s willingness to allow your “boys” (no insult intended) to undergo this taste of training and for the cameras to be present and filming for all to see. One of my children was Army (US), husband was Navy (US) and brother was a Marine (US). I would hear stories about these exercises, the gas chambers and trying not to break but seeing this gives a new perspective. Could I have done this at 20? I think so. 40? I am not so sure. 60’s? Highly unlikely for multiple days in a row. I am impressed. More impressed with the attitude. The guys just do it, as instructed, with little or no whinging/whining about it. If they DID, I did not recognize it for what it was. No ‘EWWW’ when the mud slid under their trousers, and you know it did, crawling backwards. No doubt the medics had some serious cleaning of their van at the end of the day! Excellent series! Each one has been good but this is another level. Thank you!

It was Teddy Roosevelt who made a deal with Japan they can have Korea at Treaty of Portsmouth 1904/5. After World War 2, Franklin Roosevelt-Harry S Truman let Russia occupy north half of Korea. Although we can thank Truman for saving Democratic free country for South Korea, it was despicable US foreign policy and corrupt Korean politicians that almost made Korea one communist country.

Nati and harvey were always so disciplined and shone here even more in this episode! All the boys though persevering through it all and making friends with fellow korean lads is so amazing to see.

mad respect for all these Korean soldiers. i knew that it was tough but seeing the everyday situation of these men was something. it's the real deal. i also want to commend these British students for trying their best most especially nati, harvey, and bobby. they're the aces of this series.
p.s. let me add nati for being able to learn and read hangul immediately. also, the part when they're chatting with other trainees, it was wholesome.
