I have seven vehicles, 2 HPI 5BSS Baha's, 2 HPI 5SC trucks, 2 Losi 5ive T's and now the RR Rampage V3. With just a few minor upgrades like all Vehicles will require when a stock part goes, these Trucks are awesome. Granted they are not 4WD racers like the Losi's, nor do they have the jumping distance of the 5SC's, but these things are tanks and can climb and run over things like a Monster Truck should, with low gearing and awesome power bands. They are tons of fun. They are worth the price.
Haha.. Redcat shutting up the HPI and Traxxas fanboys on the track.. They always get butthurt when they realized they overpaid for their HPI or Traxxas and get passed by a Redcat.
Redcat is a decent brand. Trust me. I have their entry level nitro shockwave and a blackout brushless truck. They make decent stuff but as a whole, their cars arent that durable and you can only play with them hard if you like tinkering and fixing stuff. Traxxas and HPI are very durable brands and in my opinion the baja is the best nitro rc car ever. Besides the T-Maxx.
most of people dont know that the tires on the redcat rampage mt weight about 10lbs,now if the rampage had baja wheels,it would be a diff story there both good trucks,to me the rampage mt is more fun to drive snice its 4wheel drive and you can get masive dust clouds :)
It's not that they are not as durable (although I have heard some impressive stories), it's that HPI parts support is so much better if you break it, which both machines do. Plus the Baja drivetrain is better.
What makes hpi so much better than redcats? My XSC will hold its own against any hpi or losi. I havent had any real problems with mine, and the problems i had were mostly mistakes on my part. Havent broke anything but the body, and lost a screw. Blew a head gasket, but didnt locktite the headbolts. Of course a few things need to be upgraded, but isnt that the case with all rc's? For 500, u cant really go wrong
The redcat MT in this video went through hours of fine tunning it was the only way it ran that good i bought and had it for a couple months cool truck but they need a lot of work out of the box. check out my other vids of it. the redcatdunerunner is also another car i had and it was a fucking nightmare it also need a lot of loc tight! NOT A GOOD BUGGY!

Very well said. I love the HPI's but I wish their truck was 4 wheel drive. That's what makes me not want to get one.

My blackout needed to be stripped down and assembled properly with everything loctited and servo circuit boards flooded with epoxy for support!
yes it is a 2 cycle with after market carb. and pipe.
