Will has been helping me a lot with screaming, airflow, tone and control with my aggressive vocal techniques lately.
...And Sleep Token is amazing and is one of Will's favorite bands! Will did a KILLER cover of Chokehold awhile back so I thought I'd give an update on some of my screams while saying "thank you" to WIll for the help!

Sheeeeesh! Such a great cover. You made it your own rather than impersonating too, which was sick. Those ethereal subtle tones you put in the (normally) instrumental section were a tasteful touch. The harsh vocals are sounding CRISPY 🔥🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

@@chrisliepe you nailed it! I always find myself trying to do impersonations, especially for sleep token, i see stars, and even much heavier stuff like will, which is why I honestly don’t know my own true voice.

Out of every other coach who only will react or talk about technique only on certain parts the know, Chris has now demonstrated you can sing anything if you now how to, he has walk the road and can show you can do it too, instead pf only pointing to the dentination he will take you by the hand and lead you there. I never have been able to get into Sleep Token but could never put my finger on why. Between watching this covers and Will’s covers, I think it’s Vessel’s voice. I’m not saying it’s bad, just something about doesn’t jive with me personally. If people like it great. I personally can’t.

This is awesome, love to see you put in to practice what you preach about learning the approach the original vocalist takes and imitating it within the limitations of your own voice. It would be really cool if you did more of this, maybe even adding your own full version of a song at the end of a vocal breakdown to fully showcase everything you've learned and how to put it into practice! I know it makes for much longer videos, but it's so great to see a raw one take of a song after you've studied the vocal techniques and I for one would be happy to watch a 30 minute video of you breaking down a whole song and then doing this at the end!
