  • Proper finger placement on the piano isn't an exact science. Why? This is because of the individuality of pianists and the diverse range of playing styles and techniques.
    Whilst there are generally accepted principles and guidelines for finger placement, such as using specific fingers for certain keys or passages, the best approach can vary based on factors like:
    * hand size
    * flexibility
    * musical interpretation

    At this point I can say math and science are easier than playing the piano 😂

    I just can't seem to get wrist and finger position right on my right hand *pun intended*, I keep getting wrist pain, I've watched all the videos on technique, but just can't get it. Anything I could be missing?

    @jazerleepiano So I might have an challenging question. I decided to give a piano an other chance. I gratuated a music school so a piano was an obligatory subject there but since it wasn't my main instrument (I played clarinet) I didn't really payed attantion and I mostly skipped piano classes using exuses. They let me slide with a lot of things becaouse I am missing a 2 cm piece of my middle finger in right hand. So my question is: Since I decided to give a piano second chance and I want to do things right like all the scalles and arpeggios would you rather recomend using a middle finger even if it is changing a possition of a hand to less natural, plus in fingering they "save" the further keys for the longest finger, which in my case is almost as long as a littlefinger, or would it be better to just skipp the middle finger and use only 4?

    Thanks! I'm struggling with a left-hand pattern in a blues and i'm not doing it as everybody does 😅

    I saw a 10 year old boy playing the other day - small chubby fingers, and he played beautifully. Blows my mind that kids can do so much with such a disadvantage!

    Hi Jazer

    Thank you. I was always struggling with the theory of fingerings. I've been thinking in the right direction for myself, but in discussions I was never sure. Until now.😂
