    Before watching this video- I was fighting with my wife telling her that the box of tiles she bought was absolutely useless without the knowledge to put them up. She has nagged me for almost an entire year!!! But I turned my attention away from politics and aliens on the moon and in Antarctica- and I found your “How to” video. Wow!!! Unreal!! You just made me a Hero!!! I am the shazizzo!! Thank you Manny the man!

    That's the way I've done ceiling tile repairs with one small difference. Instead of drywall screws, I use white vinyl siding trim nails, then caulk over them. Great video.

    Thank you for this video. My concern is that within a renovation property, one ceiling in a bedroom has completely fallen- to where less than 10 tiles are still in place. I had a blue tarp put over it because it looks a little alarming. In another room, it's like this in your video; just a handful of tiles are missing in that room. The renovation was stalled because I had no clue what to do. Your video has given me the solution. Best to you & yours. 👍

    Ughhh I've been searching for 2 years for a video like this 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 Prior owners finished my basement ceiling & used just staple on tiles. While it's completely stunning a couple cracked & needed to be removed. We searched everywhere & could not for the life of me figure out how they did it & what tiles they used. We almost had to take the whole thing down & start over or just leave a piece open which I don't want. This helped a lot thanks.

    very good job .. myself being in the home remodeling game for almost 40 years , I have to say these type of ceiling tiles are total junk although millions have been installed, I have yet to see a ceiling with these type of tiles not sag over time, humidity etc causes them to sag , just not a good product but your repair is a great idea and looks good thanks for posting

      i have a 15 x15 area in the center (of COURSE) of the room. i got the standard 12x12 tiles. and lo and behold when i got to the final row i noticed that the first tile was way too snug. yeah.....the old ones are 11 and a heavy 7/8 to the finish edge. every stinking one. no choice but to cut the finish edge and whip out the caulk. and thats with using a sacrifice tile to snug em nicely like always. i thought 12x12 was the norm in america. no way they ALL shrunk up. yeah rock wool shower all day to boot. i hate repairing this crap.

      Depends on where you live and how well they are installed... I have had these on my house and no sag until I had a small fire that the firefighters wet the entire floor with... causing a huge sag... hence why I watched this video... I live in NY which is not very humid... but also, My tiles were installed with GLUE as well as staples.

    Great video... I have had these on my house and no sag until I had a small fire that the firefighters wet the entire floor with... causing a huge sag. hence why I watched this video... I live in NY which is not very humid... but also, My tiles were installed with GLUE as well as staples.

    Nice video! I’m surprised the tiles are stapled to the joists. The proper way to install these tiles is to have furring strips installed across the joists for the tiles to staple to. Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Mr Lopez. So happy to find your video. My basement ceiling tile is the same as yours. Thank God finding you. I also saw your light fixture. Can you do a video about changing that light fixture. My light is dropping out of the ceiling tile. Not sure if you have a video about that. But thank you still so very much for showing how to install the ceiling. I’m a wife and a mom and like to do DIY project if I can. So I can feel empowered.

    only thing I see different than how I installed mine is the lack of cross pieces. every 12 inches I out a srip in from wall to wall so as to have a place to staple to. your repair is what I need next as a few have sagging. I look forward to getting off here and doing your repair method!

    Video helps a lot my man I just booked a job today I’m watching this on the way to go do it now lol 😂. Thank you thank you!!!! I was wondering how I was going to get the tiles supported in place cause stapling seemed impossible on a repair for just a few tiles. I have just 6 tiles to do.

    I just did a replacement job on my house. It was a pain in the butt . The old tiles were brittle as heck. I did what you did to cut and fit,besides staples. Same tile number as you had. My only grip is that these tiles are $16.oo a carton of 10. I caulked some edges and had the paint matched. Dude this would cost a fortune to redo a 13.50x32.50 ceiling. It would have been cheaper to sheetrock. can't do this since i have renter living in house. You are right about not seeing video on this. Good work.

    • @manny7155
      @manny7155  7 лет назад

      richard mouton,
      I'm not sure if your saying this worked for you or not, but I agree with the fact that this is not a method to use on a very large area. I only had to replace four tiles because of a plumbing job, so in that fact, this method is fine. If you have a large are that is messed up, then yes, sheetrock or simply re-tiling the ceiling would be a better alternative.

      Manny Lopez It did work for me. I was lucky that i did not have to use screws, but that is a good fix you came up with. I choose the low dimples to make it easier to hide. caulk over and paint. Thanks
