Hey Chris, if you cut the old front inlet long way down the middle. You can screw it back into place and it will act as a barrier between the silicone hose and the pullies. Make sure to 1. Cut a relief hole in front of the alternator pully cause it will touch. 2. Keep enough of the old Inlet were it starts to bend around the alternator. That curve will also act as a brace to keep it from being pushed towards the pullies. Took me two tries to figure it out.
The joys of running an N54! Wait for the injector to suit themselves; index 12’s are obscenely expensive and hard to get hold of. You still need to add in the M3 arms….makes a good improvement to how the car drives.
Have any merch yourself? Since picking up Mark's videos...initially from Mat Watson's CARWOW videos it landed me into your pal's channel...Mr Armstrong himself! Probably my favourite channel as of now lol! I cannot miss a single one of his uploads! Pucker videos lol. All of these Epic new channels I've now subscribed too came from my pal's channel...Yannimize
I have 335i on hybrid turbos for over 2 years if u need any information just ask. I have done all work myself so I know a lot about n54 modifications. If u need tune easiest way is mhd. U can go to stage 2+ if your high pressure pump and injectors are in good condition. Other way is jb4
M3 arms (TRW), steering rack (servotronic coded in), CDV delete, M3 clutch spring and clutch bump stop all worth doing to improve the way the car drives. If you've not done flywheel you'll likely get a misfire on high rpm in 4th I think Also Google Mickey mouse flange n54 best change that as it cracks with heat cycling and the McDonald's straw at the front which you changed
Would keep a coolant expansion tank on hand as well if it's the same age as the other plastic hoses. The N54 is a solid engine. It's the bits that bolt to the engine that will break over time. All of them.
The sound effects of you tugging off that pipe 🤣 I literally just did the same thing, broke that same pipe and ended up breaking my radiator. Such a big job for a little thing
Hi Chris, i’m not even going to lie i never watched this video. However, i have been loving the caddy videos as I recently got one myself for a work horse (maybe even cheaper thank your “UK’s cheapest Caddy.” 😉) You definitely have everything there to be a wicked youtuber but after watching Mat Armsrong since the A45 days (as i have an A200) i think you do need to add your own little style to these videos to keep the people interested . I’m not saying i agree with the people saying you’re a “Mat Armstrong replica.” But I definitely see the similarities in a lot of your recent videos and considering you’re in a lot of Mat’s videos it’s too easy to spot them😖😂. Anyway man, keep grinding on the videos and please get some more content on the caddy out! And especially keep inspiring new starters like me!! All the best!💯
@@Chris_Slix hahah saw u changed it aswell. im gonna say ive always wanted an n54 but idk bout this one mate. seems like alot of work. but i think i will own one at some point
i really want the silicone pipes but this is a pig of a job
You don’t need to remove the subframe, best to remove the gearbox bolt as that’s a pain to get the pipe through, easily doable! Very fiddly though!
Need to see the Van vids dude!!! Bm is looking mean as heck!! Keep up the grind dude!!

Agreed with this it's a good idea if you're running Dual cone intake it'll have more inwards movement to contact the pulleys
Lovin' the Mat Armstrong helpful laughs!

Admiration that looked a nightmare. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I can not wait for thr new project 😊
What a pain with those hoses! Car is looking unreal though Chris mate. Absolute dream car 😍
Thanks Josh!
It’s worth fitting the e9x m3 front and rear control arms, arbs, and rear subframe or at least subframe bushes. Handling will be amazing.
To give it more room to fit the rear inlet, you could lower the engine a bit by lowering the engine support bar hook.

The van will be making a return soon! Its a long term project that wont be going anywhere but over time it will be completely overhauled. 😊
