How to Choose the Perfect Steering Wheel

- Choosing the right steering wheel is more difficult than it would seem at first glance. There are many variables to consider like wheel diameter, material, style, dish, and quick release. Luckily, once you know all the options, it is very easy to narrow them down based on your needs. The needs of a track car and daily driver are very different. Do you want wood, leather, suede, or alcantara? Momo, Nardi, or NRG?
While this won't choose the wheel for you, it at least helps you make a more informed decision. I would like to stress that leaving the airbag functioning in a car without a harness is a very wise thing to do. Please modify responsibly.

Dude, you actually did a great job on this! Just wanted to let you know.
Thank you!
Dude, this is quality over quantity. I rather watch a video full of knowledge than a video that is effortlessly edited with no content.
Nice video. Concise and to the point.
I was looking for a sim steering wheel bit this is also great
Thanks!
Very informative. Thanks.
Fantastic video, nice and short yet packed a lot of helpful info. Looking to get my factory steering wheel customized (funnily enough for my 350Z). I was thinking of going for part leather, part alcantara but seeing as I go bare-handed and want easy maintenance, I'm now going full leather. You've saved me a potential headache there. Thanks.
Happy to help. I still love an Alcantara or suede wheel, but leather is definitely the easiest to live with
Great job on the vid, very informative and strait forward.
Thanks. Happy to help
very helpful!
Thanks!
I wish you would of focussed on the dish part a lot more.
What more do you need to know? It's entirely dependent on your vehicle and preferences.
350Z247 I would like to know how to choose/measure a aftermarket wheel and hub so it fits and sits in the same exact location as stock. Don’t want it closer or farther away.
@@sucapizda you'll remove your wheel, put a straight edge on the mating surface, then measure from that plane to the center plane of the wheel's. Almost all modern wheels have 25-50mm of dish to accommodate things like air bags.
350Z247 That part I get. But then you add a hub and that will no doubt push the thing up in your face. Is there a formula like, “ dish minus hub width equals the new dish of the wheel??” And there are like 1000 different hubs. Can you get many different thickness hubs for the same vehicle? I’m doing this to a 2002 4th get trans am. Thanx.
@@sucapizda you'll just subtract the thickness of the hub. Most only add a half inch or so. A name brand should give you dimensions. Same for a quick release.
Poderia me indicar uma loja que eu consiga comprar, que venha para o Brasil?
infelizmente não sei, mas tenho certeza que existe
