Hi, my name is Merrill Kazanjian. New York City is an amazing place to go metal detecting. We have lots of parks, colonial history and great beaches for beach detecting. I have gone to all five boroughs of New York City To Metal Detect and beyond. I also currently own 19 metal detectors. I want to have the best and I want to help you choose the best as well. A red quarter is a thing. A restaurant or bar owner would paint some quarters red, and then use them in the jukebox or pool table. And when the money is collected, the red quarters are the owners, and they get them back.

Hi Merrill, I think that thing you found at 04:14 might be the cutting tip for an oxyacetylene torch. I found one somewhat like it a few weeks ago, and identified it by uploading a photo to Google Lens, which is a surprisingly handy way to identify mystery objects, in case you hadn't known.

Red quarters are from landlords to keep track for some reason. Also used by waitresses to put in jukeboxes in order to encourage patrons add their own quarters when music stopped. Found them before in change. Usually "older".

THIS is the quality content I treasure hunt RUclips for! I appreciate what you're teaching us, here. I also want to celebrate your hard-earned finds 🍻 CHEERS!
I've got two beaches I hunt with 8 live feeds on them. I'm constantly scouting my turf when I can't get out there and I'm not even kidding, there will be a dozen detectorists on the beach before I even make it there, and they're 90% on the wet sand. I tell my wife, 'They can't find it all.'
But, I will hunt the towel line and have been finding fresh clad.
IS THE COIN LINE THE SAME AS THE TOWEL LINE, OR ARE THEY TWO DIFFERENT ZONES?
...I'm still excited about clad because I'm still green, less than a year experience but, they're also spendable. I'VE GOT A VANQUISH 540 TO PAY OFF 🤣
Earning the payback has been motivational.
Okay, this is getting long. Merrill, thank you!
P.S. You're sense of humor has been an IV drip to keep me slogging through the RUclips swamp for quality, authentic, people. Stay true!

And you found that first little gold ring way deep. Deeper than heavy fishing weights… I’ve gone back behind guys while they are still there who run a good patch down and bombed the hell out of it and went SLOW. And pulled gold. Dude came back once trying to stop me he says “hey man I just hit all all this and bows a good time. Maybe just a little advice use this time wisely and find another patch cause you’re not gonna find anything here” or something to that effect. Well I pulled a gold ring from deep that day. When I run a patch I absolutely dig it all and go super slow trying to make sure I pick up anything real deep cause sometimes you will get a faint blip and it’ll be gold 20” down. What’s the harm in taking a scoop or two and seeing what other noise you make out of it right? Well it’s a fact. These patches will be layered. And gold is heavy… hard sand plus lots of other stuff plus down low plus a good machine and patience. Often you can run right behind a guy a pull gold…

Awesome day! You are absolutely correct, if the conditions are right you are present, the finds will be found. I mostly hunt inland/old parks. For me last year conditions were perfect, parks department took a bulldozer and scraped off 12 inches of dirt. My best silver day ever.

The one you showed Jeff and called a pendant? Do some searches for "taoist silver coin charms". Looks a lot like one. Also interesting you found the yin/yang medallion as well. Both taoist.
