Hi Merrill, I think that thing you found at 04:14 might be the cutting tip for an oxyacetylene torch. I found one somewhat like it a few weeks ago, and identified it by uploading a photo to Google Lens, which is a surprisingly handy way to identify mystery objects, in case you hadn't known.

A red quarter is a thing. A restaurant or bar owner would paint some quarters red, and then use them in the jukebox or pool table. And when the money is collected, the red quarters are the owners, and they get them back.

I have a specific limitation which makes it so I am very motivated and work hard at whatever my goals are but I reach the point where I need to make a decision and I am mentally locked. I have a very successful career in Engineering but this is a constant issue that a couple of my buddies privately help me with. (I love them for it). My family is not able to but your videos make it possible to proceed with a short list to present to them so I can have all of my family including my wife metal detecting! Hello my detecting friend! i am Frank and i am writing to you from the deep North of Canada most of Québec deep North! Man i love your videos i learned so much watching you and listening to you your the Best! The only thing is that you live in USA where there is thousands of beaches ! Here we have the most Lakes, Rivers, Crick and Natural forest in the world! So the beaches are either naturaly small or adventure sites and Camping beatches! I Bought a year ago a Vanquish 540 Pro Pack and for a first detector i am very happy and i like when you do hunt with it! When you use other Detector i listen less about the machine more on your technics of hunting.
Here we have 4000 years of history with the indians and 1500 - 1600 colonisations. Last year a man detected, 45 min from my little town, a 3500 old village all because of a detector! So newly retired, 31 years of saving life, from being and officer in special intervention team and crash and rescue. I got badly injured on a rescue mission broke my back i became paraplegic :( Miracles happen after 3 major surgeries and 2 bone transplants it took me 1 1/2 to learn to walk again!
So my doctors told me to slowly find activities that would make me walk and move and exercise to my limits! Beside being in the paradize of nature, fishing and hunting i discover Detecting! So i , plz let me kow if i made a good choice with the 540 pro, amd i equiped my self from A to Z for metal detecting. I red and watch so much videos and Boom , an other Miracle, i found You! BOOOUM SUSHI TIME!!! I think i am prety sure i watch at least 85% of your video at this moment and finaly had to write this book to you! Sorry for the lenght of this message but i wanted to say to You a Great Thank You for your work and you passion expessing it in videos! Plz dont stop, you are in my favorite and you cant excape :) God Bless you and you family, Thx again Frank from the deep North (Sorry for my english writing mistakes being french my talking and listening are lot better)

THIS is the quality content I treasure hunt RUclips for! I appreciate what you're teaching us, here. I also want to celebrate your hard-earned finds 🍻 CHEERS!
I've got two beaches I hunt with 8 live feeds on them. I'm constantly scouting my turf when I can't get out there and I'm not even kidding, there will be a dozen detectorists on the beach before I even make it there, and they're 90% on the wet sand. I tell my wife, 'They can't find it all.'
But, I will hunt the towel line and have been finding fresh clad.
IS THE COIN LINE THE SAME AS THE TOWEL LINE, OR ARE THEY TWO DIFFERENT ZONES?
...I'm still excited about clad because I'm still green, less than a year experience but, they're also spendable. I'VE GOT A VANQUISH 540 TO PAY OFF 🤣
Earning the payback has been motivational.
Okay, this is getting long. Merrill, thank you!
P.S. You're sense of humor has been an IV drip to keep me slogging through the RUclips swamp for quality, authentic, people. Stay true!

Hey Merryl! Maybe the guy who dug before you didn't have a good machine for the wet so he preferred to stay higher up, in the dry. That goes to show you what you're missing without a good SMF machine on the beach 👍🏻

The chap in front may have been heading off the beach and didn't have time that day to keep going south!

Red quarter is prolly from a hike box, would paint so they could get it back from the person they let keep it in their diner or whatever since they still wanted music still or wanted to get people using it

Liked video very much. Merrill you have always been an honest Metal detectorist That is what brought me into watching your videos. You have been straight forward on detectors and the capability of them. Plus your creativity in making the videos are awesome and fun to watch.. Keep on Going . You Rock Brother..

The one you showed Jeff and called a pendant? Do some searches for "taoist silver coin charms". Looks a lot like one. Also interesting you found the yin/yang medallion as well. Both taoist.
