Found 2 gold coins in 50 yrs. Of hunting on was in the water and the other was at a flee market bought it for 50cent out of a box of junk keep on diggin!!!😊
Awesome ! I'm bittersweet not being able to go with short notice. I thank you and Mr. Tones for turning me on to a great place to hunt. BTW , i lost a huge gold crucifix near the parking lot there in about 1991 playing softball. Go get er Merrill. Great video ! 👏 👏 👏
These events are great fun and a great opportunity to meet other diggers like Racheal ( cool to see you 😉🇨🇦) Also generous sponsorship from manufacturers boost the prizes and display the latest products along with good advise 👍
awesome hunt merrill and hello from the pacific NW! you’re my greatest metal detecting resource, i owe you at least half of my rings and as of today my first silver coin!! great job and thank you for everything!
CASPER METAL DETECTING here...Glad you had a great time ! Finds are the bonus at seeded hunts - the friends and stories and fun is where its at 👍...My first detecting experience was a seeded hunt in 1973 at age 10 - using a borrowed Whites Gold MASTER . Guys from down south that were first ones to hit loaded civil war spots donated about 1000 3 ringers to the kids hunt and they buried Ike dollars and halves for the kids. Hunt was put on by the New England Treasure Finders which at one time was the largest club in the USA. I got my own detector in 1975. Congrats on the GOLD!
Merrill metal detecting is like golf, you can do it by yourself and have fun but its more fun when you get to do it with others, great video and gold coin not to shabby.
It was an amazing meeting you and an amazing experience and looking forward to next year. Indiana Tones and Mike put on a great event, thank you again and may need some pointers on that X-Terra Pro and im sorry i chose that that gold peso on you.
I have been attending these organized hunts for over 40 years, all the way from Texas to Massachusetts. I have met so many great people that are still my friends today. Congrats on the Gold coin.
Metal detecting club hunts are indeed a great deal of fun. I have been to many here in California. Some are just 1 day and others a 3 day event with a night hunt. Congratulations on the gold coin.
So pleased for you I to joined a club dig on Sunday large parsnip field Digging everything as not learnt enough yet and just as I was calling it a day I found my first coin George 1 half penny 1722 it's my gold coin Great idea on the beach and like mine was a fun day out 🎉
I have enjoyed your videos and I recently bought a Nokta Legend. So far I have found $ 2.64 and a lot of trash. I have gotten my money worth in fun and am going to travel from my home in Alabama to Cocoa Beach Florida to try my luck. I currently use the preset settings and they work for me. Thank you for your videos.
Hi Merryl. Hilluxiyota/ Tom just made a parody of those fake videos on RUclips. I had 18 ring day last month and not even one of them was gold lol. Those seeded hunts are fun from time to time. Just like you I like balance of being social vs. alone while detecting. Cheers!
Well I metal detected for the first time today. Hit the front yard for about 20 minutes after work with my new Xterra Pro. Four finds: foil, foil, a metal screw, and my first clad penny! I'd have kept detecting in the dark if the mosquitos weren't so bad.
@@MetalDetectingNYC Tried again! Got a handful of doodads! I'm heading out of town next week for work and I'm looking forward to trying it at a few parks near the hotel. Thanks so much for your videos they're full of good information.
Another great video! Being from the UK I have to say the bit I am most jealous about is your lunch break! Pizza is my favourite food but New York pizza is like the gold coin of pizza. Perhaps that’s what I locked the gold coin for you…. 😮 ….💡…..🤔 I wonder, if I find a gold coin metal detecting then will New York pizza 🍕will be unlocked? 🤔😂
Yes, MD clubs are great fun, a good place to start if you don't know much about metal detectors. I belong to a local club and enjoy their monthly meetings and seeded hunts,
Very cool buddy, I'm going to my 2nd ever seeded hunt in Arkansas weekend after next, just being around like minded, like passion folks is nearly priceless
Merrill did you happen to notice what machine the majority of the people was using? All those wheats that they skipped over I wonder what they would think if they found out they skipped over a 1909 VDB! I dig all the pennies and one day I did find a 1909 s.That was also part of a cache great day. Thanks for be the video Merrill keep up the good be work.
Looks like you had fun, Merrill. Nice going on the gold coin! Next time consider a shorter handle scoop. You can move a lot faster and recover targets quicker.
Thank you. I bet you are a great teacher….very important. Your family is fab….thanks for sharing them. We’ll see you when you get restless. Best to you.
Those grave digger shovels are no joke bud! I have a small shovel of theirs and have had it for 6 years now and it has never heard of the word fail (as long as the ground isn't frozen lol)
Hey Merrill, I've got an idea for you. Have a contest to make the best metal detecting song and the prize can be one of your honey badger scoops.... cuz I could really use one 😂😂😂
Wow, what a great day that must have been! Congrats on the gold coin and all of the finds and prizes. Like you said the best prize is the people and the memories.
Congratulations on the gold coin! The more you hunt these hunts, the less filming you may do lol It's all about speed and fast recovery. I'd have been using that scoop like crazy. I was thinking that New York pizza being unlocked was perfect for platinum or do you already have an unlock for plat.?
I havnt found an actual silver dime that was just dropped naturally in the 60s or something The first one I found was in a coin spill with some modern coins under the swings, so some little brat just got silver in thier change from the corner store and dropped it for me to find Second one I found under swings in a different park, but I dont think it was dropped by a swinger, I found coins in the sand around the swings from 1940-1968, pennies and nickels, and the 1963 dime, so I think they were brought in with the fill sand from somewhere older Ive only been a detectorists since April though, I think I did good for 5 or 6 months, got a small gold chain, and lots of cheap 925 jewlery
Epic work bro and what a cool seeded hunt!! We have a major yearly one here in NZ and I’m yet to go to it, hopefully soon! I saw that title and was like Yipeee he must’ve found a big old US $5 coin or something, was not expecting this, awesome stuff! Keep up the great videos
Have you ever seen a US $5.00 half eagle gold coin? They're not a "big old coin" the $10.00 Eagles are a respectable size gold coin. Now the $20.00 Double Eagles those are Big Old Gold coins.
I enjoy going on digs with others, it’s just fun being with others with the same detecting bug sometimes cos I’m usually a solo beach detectorist like you 👌
I couldn’t agree more with the treasure sometimes being more than just a material find.
