Bought the Tournament Pro from Wickersley recently. 13m, 2 spare top 5s plus a power kit (could have had a cupping kit, but already have several) in a Matrix pole holdall, all for £1625. Excellent value and one of the guys from the shop even drove me to the station with my new toy. Great shop and helpful staff.
MAP Poles are a bit stronger and have a higher price. MTX3 is 825grms at 13 metres. MAP TKS 501 3G is 925grms at 13 metres. I have been advised to fit a short No3 section section to the MTX3 to add strength without adding weight.
I've read a fair bit about the MTX3 before buying mine. Seems they did have a problem with the number 4 section in the early launch, and they have addressed that now. After sales service has been crap everywhere during this Pandemic. Stocks ran out over 12 months ago and there is still a heap of stuff on back order. Everything i have read of late has nothing but praise for the MTX3 and i am really happy that i got one. It really is a good Pole. Got mine for £1249.00 delivered. That is a lot of Pole for that kind of money, so i do not feel that i have been ripped off with marketing BS. I think i have got value for money.
And there was me looking for a 14.5m around £800 ish as a start off 2k for mid range ridiculous , all you hear is get kids into the sport blah blah blah with prices like these no hope.
Can a normal working family man afford £1500 or more. On a pole . Can have the most expensive pole out on market. But it wont make him /her a better angler . What you cant buy is water craft and knowledge.
If match fishing is your thing and the venue methods dictate you need to fish at 13m+, then you have to spend that unfortunately. As good as watercraft and knowledge is it won’t help you holding a 16m £500 pole for 5 hours
@@vpnbrianpotter Very good reply and bang on Brian, I'm a "normal" working man and I saved up for a top of the range pole. I'm a match angler and I can fish and really enjoy catching where others can't present it right at that length.
2 grand mid range come on Tom wasn't that long ago you where winning with a sub £1500 pole as that was all you could afford and you are in the industry mid range is £750 - £1250
@If I was 1 How many none sponsored angler's spend 4k on a pole I bet less than 1% . The claim you're making it like saying a ferrari is a mid price car because a bugatti is 4 million

Mtx 3 is a fantastic pole for the money let's just hope the matrix company are as good as the mtx poles regarding spares and service 👍
Surprised the map 3G 5 and 601s didn’t get a mention, fantastic poles
This video should really be called ‘Top 3 mid-range poles stocked by Wickersley Angling’.
Love the tournament Pro👍
These videos are some of my favourites.
Did Alan get the prices right on the Browning?
He said that both the 16 mt & the 13 mt are £2k?
I need a pole that would hold up to the boundary Waters and it did it wonderfully
MAP 4 and 501 should be up there, also the 1001 10.2 Meter Margin pole. All very good value for money.

Can you do a review on the maver MVR Competition 16m and Preston xs50 and x400 please
2 grand for a mid range pole. What wage are you on. Thinking a grand tops for mid range
Totally agree with you!
Not trying to sound a tight twat but also youve got to get all the extra tops elasticated at £10+ a top. Goin to be expensive
Some of us haven't worked for nearly a year.
Would have thought mid range was £1000-1200
Agree!
Love the my MTX-3 it’s fantastic
I wonder what they pay in other countries,I'm thinking is it worth a trip?
Our exchange rate isn’t good at the moment though.
In Europe a lot of the matches the poles are maximum leghth of 13 m
MTX 3 looks on paper fantastic but the amount of people who have problems with snapped sections and poor matrix aftermarket service is ridiculous.

Wat price are those mtx3 16m at minute mate I’m after 1
3 poles which are probably the 3 main suppliers you use in your shop what about Middy Maver preston
Just bought my mtx3 scared to use it because of the price 😄

Agree!!
What about tourney prox?
That's over 2k
These aren’t what most people would call mid-range. Something like the Daiwa match winner range is what I’d class as mid-range. 600-1000 ish.
How is £600 mid range, when flagship poles are £4,000?
That’s proper low end.
A mid range poles is £1500
IlL TAKE 2 OF THOSE £3K DIAWA AIR Z PLEASE

Nobody mentioned watercraft or knowledge once, this is a mid range pole review
4grand airz
g90 different level mtx3
He'd have 2 of the matrix mtx3 instead of one mtx 4, lol the guys on crack

I still fish with the old G50 a fair bit. 😊🎣
If flagship poles are £4,000+ then mid range is £1500-£2250
