Love this one...man that guy on the clarinet or idk it's so great and the trumpet the washboard pretty great and the VOCALS killer...banjo spot on so dixy. And the trombone so vital and to your bones makes me feel the music in my soul and the guitar soulful really gluing it together the harmony of collective musicians VOCALS just artistry...a gorgeous vibration that comes into your eyes and ears and settles in your soul and bolts to your moving parts cause you can't help but wanna shake something why even the dead hear this they GUNNA get up and dance I guarantee..I reckon this is what has always given me new life, like an old bouquet of dried up dead roses I hear this music and it breathes oxygen and all things vibrant colorful joyful soulful and rightness back into this girl. For that and this and this and that I thank you from the bottom of my heart ..
WOW - discovered this after watching ‘Lost Dog Street Band’. I love the way the 2 ladies kick their feet around, reminds me of Flapper girls. Damn how tall is that banjo player. Keep the tunes coming please. And that smile on Dizzy’s face at 3.14 at the end of solo - beautiful.
This song is "Everybody Loves My Baby", composed by Spencer Williams, 1924, with lyrics by Jack Palmer. Louis Armstrong, playing cornet with Spencer Williams' Blue Five, recorded an important version of it that same year and the Boswell Sisters recorded it in 1932.
Washboard players don't seem to need any musical talent to play and I wonder if they get a full share when splitting up the meager gig receipts? It would be nice if the City of New Orleans provided a stipend to help struggling street musicians since they help the tourist industry.

And that clarinet he's playing on, what kind of metal clarinet is it? I play tuba, but I've got a metal clarinet for fun and such. Also, good idea on NOT bringing the BAT (big a$$ tuba) down south. I sometimes wish I'd have my 20-j with me in Macedonia right now, but I'll find a helicon, I have to!
He really has Chops on the clarinet they all are incredible, been addicted since I found them 3 months ago now working on starting a NOLA band here in Hawaii..

I am a big fan of Tuba Skinny. I once drove from Vancouver to Cancun . We made a stop at Chichén Itzà. One of the seven wonders of the world. Climbing the pyramid is fairly easy. The scary part is coming down. It is quite steep. ⚠

When did tuba players lose their place in the playing of music especially in the big band era? Did the upright bass player and drums assume the position for providing rhythm?
I believe there are better uses of the washboard like washing clothes in a primitive non-electric society. However, it doesn't seem to caught on with the people along rivers and streams who use big stones to bash the dirt away or the Asians who use big tubs and their dancing feet.
Strong performances by the clarinetist, tuba/euphonium, and the gal on wash board especially on this one. The singer could heard (not always the case) throughout... and if I may say, has great legs. ;-) You guys are great... keep up the good work.

This is outstanding. I’ve never seen it before, who is the washboard player and the tall banjo guy. And what happened to them. Terrific rhythm and interpretation of this classic. Erica’s voice just as good then as it is now. Fabulous stuff!!!

It's great to see young people out playing stuff like this. Too many of our youth are stuck on the phone.
That metal clarinet is played by a musician who knows what he’s doing really well. Not the same as a regular wood or plastic clari. Kudos!
