"A beautiful day!" I agree completely. What awesome results of your experiments. And I liked the way you took the mess, when the paper sticked to the stencil. Laugh and go on. Make something out of it. I´m really glad to have found you on youtube. It´ s pure pleasure! 🥰
So refreshing to see someone making mistakes, thank you for sharing. Helps to know it's ok and normal. Loving your channel so far. What do you do with your papers? Are you a collage artist?
Hi Charlotte! I do experiment with collage, and I use the papers for everything from art backgrounds, to cards to grocery lists and more. I just truly love the feeling and expression of painting the papers. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 💜
Hi Kim - thank you so much! I crack myself up when I'm reviewing the videos during editing. 🤣I have no poker face at all! This is the palette paper I use most - amzn.to/3QQR939. As for the gold ink - I don't think I used gold ink in this video, but whatever I did use, it's listed in the description under supplies. Thank you so much for being here! 🥰
Oh wow! They turned out beautifully Jackie 😍 I was so delighted (and impressed!) to see how you rescued your torn piece! As soon as I saw the torn paper the word 'collage' came to me...I love all of your pieces ❤ it was worth salvaging 👍😁
I'm so happy the video was helpful! I feel terrible, but I cannot find the information on the music for this video. I know it came from Epidemic Sound, but I don't have the name or the artist. I'm so sorry. 🥰
So inspirational! I have so many stencils and I hardly ever use them. How do you clean the stencils after you use heavier mediums on them? Especially the ones with lots of fussy cutting? Also, love the stencil books…did you just make that yourself with plastic dividers? Awesome!
Hi Robin - great questions! The stencil book is manufactured and the one I use is listed in the supply section of the description, but you could certainly make your own. As for cleaning the heavier mediums, I usually lay pieces of newsprint on top of the medium and roll out with a brayer. I do that until there is almost nothing left on the stencil. Then I place the stencil in a pan with water and Murphy's Oil Soap and let it soak for at least one day, but usually a week. Then I *_gently_* wipe any residue off and rinse. Hope that helps. 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio yes, this helps! Thanks! I want to try modeling paste through stencils but was afraid to ruin them….Murphys Oil soap is a miracle!
I mean, wow!!! this was so enjoyable to watch and just jam packed with creative wonderfulness. Love all of your works and the results! Beautiful. Thanks! p.s. missed the Etsy link for the paint you used toward the end, little glass jars. Would love to order some.
Hi Jesse! Thank you for reminding me to put up the supply information on the stencils. If you take a look at the description now, they should all be there. 😀
I love the collage with the Pan Pastel rice paper! Did you glue it down the size where you applied the pastel and it shows through the rice paper? Or after fixing it on the Gel Plate, did you glue it face up?
I have cut my own, but I'm not very good at it 😂 My favorite suppliers are Joggles, PM Artist Studios, Stencil Girl, and a bunch of Etsy stencil makers. 💜
Hi Sharon - I bought this badger brush about 20 years ago at a small local art store. I just looked it up and found a very similar on at Jerry's Artarama, but holy cow!!! It is very expensive now. A smaller one will work just as well (they have them), but actually, a badger shaving will work too. With either brush, just be sure to use the lightest possible pressure when blending. Also make sure to wash your brush when done for the day - this is not the brush to leave in a cup of water. 💜
Thank you Chapman! I found the paper on Amazon - it's called Yasutomo Hanshi Paper 9x12 size. I want to warn you though - it is very very delicate. There are probably better rice paper options.
Mary - you are exactly right! Thank you for posting this, it made me realize that I forgot to put it in the description with a link. It's all corrected now 🥰
I just discovered you the other day and love your paper painting techniques. I was wondering how you fix your papers when using pan pastels, graphite or charcoal on the papers that would smear or run when covering them with medium. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful ideas!
Hey Sassy, great question. Sometimes I use Krylon's Workable Fixitif (but only outdoors). Other times I spread a thin layer of clear matte medium on a gel plate and gently press the piece art side down on the plate. It transfers the medium without smudging the work. Hope that helps 😀
@@AtomicElf1 No, I remove the paper off the plate right away and then put it somewhere safe to dry. You bring up an interesting idea though - obviously, I'm going to have to experiment 😂
Hi Beach Baby! I got the "stencil album" on Amazon. I love it because it's large enough to hold my 12"x12" stencils. Here is a direct link amzn.to/4csl6jy 🥰
I do, I actually have several spaces for drying. I find that if you can hang the paper (like on a pant hanger), you can get the most drying space for your work. I'll work on creating a video about this. 😀
Great results! ❤
Thanks Darcy! 🥰
Fabulous pieces!! Stencils are my favourite tool to use and I store them in these display books too!! 🎉🎉
The books make it so easy to organize - however, getting them in the sleeves can be tough 😂
This was a really fun video! Thank you, Jackie!
You're welcome Robin - it was really fun to make 🥰
I've learned so much from watching your experiments and videos -- thank you for sharing!!!
Thank you very much, Angela - I appreciate your kind words, and for being here. 🥰
Absolutely beautiful - everyone of them. Great day!
Thank you - it really was a great day!
Sometimes ‘mistakes’ turn into wonderful art!
It is so true, Gina. I think a lot of creatives give up when "diaster strikes" when they are only a few steps away from a piece they love. 🥰
Very clear explanations, I really appreciate the thoroughness of your voice over. I look forward to your videos!
Thank you very much - I'm so glad you're here!

Could you let me (us) know where you get these stencils? Beautiful. Thanks!

Love all your v. Videos can I ask where you purchased the badger brush? I can only find shaving brushes
Hi Sharon - I bought this badger brush about 20 years ago at a small local art store. I just looked it up and found a very similar on at Jerry's Artarama, but holy cow!!! It is very expensive now. You have the most amazing techniques. Thanks for sharing them with us. What is the name of the rice paper you used?
Thank you Chapman! I found the paper on Amazon - it's called Yasutomo Hanshi Paper 9x12 size. I want to warn you though - it is very very delicate. There are probably better rice paper options.
RE: the dry wall compounds, could you paint gesso over it to make it less absorbent?
Hi Deann! I haven't tried that, but I bet you're right. Gesso would probably seal it nicely. 😀
I believe the stain that you used is Stainz by Patty Pockets❣️
Mary - you are exactly right! Thank you for posting this, it made me realize that I forgot to put it in the description with a link. It's all corrected now 🥰
What's the name of the stencil you used that had the panes grey and grapgite pencil. I loved the outcome
Hi Suzi! A link to the stencil is in the description - look for the "Marble” Wavy Stencil. Have fun with it 😍
Would like to learn more about storing stencils
Great - I'll put that on my video idea list! 🥰

I'd love to know the type of "book" you're using to keep your stencils organized. Mine are all over the place!
I found it on Amazon - "Dunwell 12x12 Binder with Sleeves" - and it has made my workspace so much more organized 🥰
what is the name/brand of the book you're storing your stencils in?
Hi - the book I use is called the "Dunwell 12x12 Binder with Sleeves" - I found it on Amazon. 😀
