File transfer is simple with the USB adapter, mine cost me about two dollars, its no harder than any other tablet. the keyboard takes a while to get used to but its great when you do.
Thank you so much for such review! i was interested particularly in work in photoshop and found the answers in your video. it would be such a great mobile solution. but unfortunately lags and RAM and absence of keyboard won't let it happen..
Thanks for including Photoshop, I was afraid it would run as slow as my current computer and that's the aspect I'm looking to upgrade. Not being able to Ctrl+Z is a HUGE downside as well, wish they put shortcut buttons on the side just like a Wacom.
Im considering to buy one but does the Clip Studio Paint or atleast the Paint Tool Sai can run smoothly on the Yoga Book?(I draw some simple children's illustrations)
+Drubesa Windows version of Yoga Book lags slightly when it comes to using drawing apps. Paint Studio Pro should perform slightly better than Photoshop shown in the video.
i am a graphic designer and I make logos, flyers, call cards etc., so my work involves exporting pics as PNG, JPEG, EPS and VECTOR Files. My question is: Can i successfully do these things with the apps available besides Photoshop and Illustrator. Thank You.
Yes in a sense. But the Yoga Book Windows version is not particularly powerful. It's good enough if you're just opening a few apps and handling small files.
I'm sorry if you mention it in the video, does it come with a writing program like Word? I'm mainly going to use it for writing so that's very important to me.
Hello! Thank you very much for the review! I want to know.. is the Adonit jot pro pen stylus can be used smoothly in the upper part of the Yoga Book (Android)? Because I kinda considering buying this tablet, but want to know if I'll be able to draw in both surfaces.. Thanks before.
1.If i fold the screen back and try to take notes ...... will it still work while the screen is open ... since its not the android version .. 2.what about the office softwares .... does they lag a lot ???? 3.If i want to highlight any text in the pdf reader directly on screen ... is it capable to do that ?? 4.can i run the sketchup software by google ?? 5.and finally can u pls check the performence of adonit jot pro and dash 2 as any pen input on the screen ?? which one of them is better and produce more smooth line compared to the default stylus .... thank you very much ... i love your review .... they are indepth and since i m an artist and an architect i love the perspective of ur review .... all the very best .. keep it up bro ....
1. When folded back, you can write on the screen but that's not the best experience. Lines break. It's best to write on the keyboard area. It's very accurate. 2. Office software should not lag. 3. If your software can support that feature, you can do so. 4. You can run Sketchup 5. Jot Pro will be more accurate. But if you're going to get the Yoga Book, you should just draw on the keyboard area because it's really accurate and is the main selling point for getting this device. I don't see any point spending extra money to get other stylus with the Yoga Book.
Hi, I know it's been a while since you made this video, but do you remember where you found the wintab drivers for this device? I'm having trouble getting paint tool sai to detect pressure. Thanks!
In your opinion what's the best laptop/tablet on the market right now for sketching? I'd like to be able to sit at a coffee shop or in bed and sketch some line art to later upload and color on my pc..
What the difference between this and drawing on the screen of the Samsung note tablet 2014 edition? that cost much cheaper, same size, has better resolution of 2k and same pressure sensitive pen tip , is it worth it
Hi, Thanks for your reviews ! So you seem to be more pro Android version. I want to buy the yoga book for drawing, and for writing scripts, everywhere I go. It's not easy to find out which of the two versions offers the best experiences and the best apps for that. I heard windows is better even though it's way slower, so I'm confused. * For the drawing part, I work a lot on photoshop after with my drawings, I was wondering if we can get a version for android, as it seems to be too heavy for this windows version. Or if I simply should work on photoshop with my regular computer after I used the yoga book. Another question, can we erase while we are drawing ? I guess not. * About the writing part, is there any app that transfers your hand writing into a proper document, computer writing, or does it only capture your hand writing ? For these purposes, would you still recommand to use the Android version of the yoga book ? Extra question if you have an opinion : Would you recommand to use the lenovo yoga book for having it everywhere we go, and combine with a lenovo miix (13") for bigger work. Or is the lenovo miix not very confortable for computer use (tablet style, pad...), and we should just combine with a regular one such as the lenovo ideapad 510 ? Thank you very much for your opinion !
If you already have a computer, you should use that for Photoshop. Yoga Book Windows would slow down quickly with Photoshop work. Note that RAM is also shared with Windows. The Yoga Book is a good device for casual drawing, excellent for taking notes, online media consumption. There should be apps that convert handwriting to computer text (I don't know any to recommend though).
I also have to buy a new computer since mine is broken, which is why I was asking also about the Lenovo Miix. So you do recommand the Android version for drawing and writing purposes ? I would use what I started on the yoga book on my computer, transfering the files. (Is that possible from the android apps to the computer ?) Thank you
The Lenovo Miix 510 gets my recommendation currently. However, when drawing diagonal lines slowly, there's still the jitter problem. But otherwise, the specifications is good for the price. Check out my review at www.parkablogs.com/picture/artist-review-lenovo-miix-510-with-active-pen The Yoga Book is a bit inconvenient for transferring files. You will need a micro-USB to USB port if you want to use thumb drive or external hard driver. Bluetooth file transfer does not work well. Wifi file transfer depends on the network. As a main computer, it's not very powerful too.
Thank you again I checked you review. I was thinking about having both, the yoga book for easy transportation and use everywhere I am is great, and the other one for normal use and to achieve the things I started (on photoshop etc.) on the yoga book (which is why I was wondering about the confort of the miix for regular daily use). As long as the transfer is possible, even with a cable, it's all good for me. I was wondering about the type of files, format it gives, if we make a transfer from android app files to windows on the computer... If the android version of the yoga book offers the same quality in apps as the windows version (for drawing and writing purposes), and make it possible to trasnfer what we started to our regular computer to continue it on windows, phoshop and others... then I guess the android really is the best option. It is very complicated to find answers about the lenovo yoga book android VS windows depending on our needs. Thank you for the time you spend answering us !
Every video I can find regarding Lenovo Yoga Book Windows Version only talk about writing, taking notes, drawing and sketching. Can I install a full office into it and also is it good for Presentation with Microsoft PowerPoint?
Tank you very much! I'm looking for a tablet to use Illustrator Photoshop and InDesign especcially for drawing on the screen, taking notes, browse and stuff. So I guess I need more RAM than 4GB.... Could you may give me a recommendation for other comparable Lonovo, Samsung or Huawei Tablets? 🙏 Is Illustrator running good on the Android App? Just another question wich is not that important ☺ I do have a Lenovo Laptop, wich is still running veery well and now I'm looking for the next Generation doing my Artwork but after a thousand reviews I dont know wich I should buy. Help me to get out of the jungle, please 😅 Thanks forward and kind regards from Germany 😊
Those Adobe software run on desktop so you'll need a proper computer/laptop, not a tablet. If you want to draw with a stylus, I suggest getting those screen-less tablets because they are cheaper. Otherwise consider the iPad Air www.parkablogs.com/content/artist-review-ipad-air-4-2020
Chuwi Hi12 runs it pretty well. It has atom z8350. Lenovo Yoga Book has Atom x5 Z8550,which is about 25%-30% faster, and lower screen resolution. So I think if you're working in 720p or 900p resolution, it can work well.
Medibang the only usable app for this... And autodesk sketch... Because those 2 programs are the only ones i know that have all the shortcut on screen... 😂 on photoshop, you'd need a keyboard... Unless u turn the keyboard on and off... But it's too much hassle 😂
Hi. ifever i download an android simulator like bluestacks or memu (for sketchbook pro/adobe sketch) will the pressure sensitivity still work on it? thanks! :)
I want this , but I want to know if the softwares are full functioning , I mean , is this 100% windows laptop ,like a real windows 10 laptop or is something missing (thought this because this laptop is unbelievably inexpensive)
Wow , thanks that you replied yourself !! , so , it is very slow while running big software or just a bit of lag ? Did you try to run photoshop on it ?
File transfer is simple with the USB adapter, mine cost me about two dollars, its no harder than any other tablet. the keyboard takes a while to get used to but its great when you do.
That's great. I certainly need to get the adapter. Lenovo should have included one since it's so cheap and so convenient.
Thank you so much for such review! i was interested particularly in work in photoshop and found the answers in your video. it would be such a great mobile solution. but unfortunately lags and RAM and absence of keyboard won't let it happen..
Olya Y. I wanted to use it as a Wacom tablet for Photoshop files transferred from my desktop. Sorely disappointed.
Did you find something else?
Thanks for including Photoshop, I was afraid it would run as slow as my current computer and that's the aspect I'm looking to upgrade.
Not being able to Ctrl+Z is a HUGE downside as well, wish they put shortcut buttons on the side just like a Wacom.

Thank You.
You can, but you have to look for alternative apps.
I've tried paint tool sai 2 using this. It's quite decent but the downside of the yoga book is the shortcut keys..
hi friend, please make a video about new yoga book 2 C930 with many thanks.
I personally use that for animating.
skullwithnobrain can you run it smoothly?
skullwithnobrain how about the render process and result?
Do you use animate cc? Or do you use an android app and import it to pc? How do you do without keyboard shortcuts?
can you write in ms office app and change your handwriting into digital text in Ms Office ?
+Ajat Sudrajat I have not used that feature in MS Office. If it has that feature, it should work.
If i buy a windows version can it really replace laptop functionality
Yes in a sense. But the Yoga Book Windows version is not particularly powerful. It's good enough if you're just opening a few apps and handling small files.
Thanks for the review, it was very useful!
Thanks :-)
can you tell me what Version (android or win10) is better for drawing? or work both the same?
I have the android version because it runs faster. I can install any app that is on google play store.
I'm sorry if you mention it in the video, does it come with a writing program like Word? I'm mainly going to use it for writing so that's very important to me.
+ShainCake There's no writing program included. But you be able to find some free Windows app for writing.
Hello! Thank you very much for the review! I want to know.. is the Adonit jot pro pen stylus can be used smoothly in the upper part of the Yoga Book (Android)? Because I kinda considering buying this tablet, but want to know if I'll be able to draw in both surfaces.. Thanks before.
+Lini Ariva I no longer have the Yoga Book. But I believe that Adonit Jot Pro should work fine.
1.If i fold the screen back and try to take notes ...... will it still work while the screen is open ... since its not the android version ..

Teoh Yi Chie ... i didnt mean that in my qus 1 .... i meant that can i write on pen and paper while folding the screen(open not in sleep)
When you fold the tablet, the keyboard area will be turned off so you can't write there. You have to write on the screen.
does this PC has pressure sensitivity on screen? I just received mine and I can't make it work with sensitivity :(
For file transfer, Just buy a micro usb flashdrive... 😂 or the ones with both micro and regular... I mean, who uses old flashdrives now days? 😂
you know how to do a work keyboard used linux arch in this tablet , i am so having time to try used but not work
Not sure what you're asking
it's not really good at the end for a Drawing tablet dedicated.
Hi, I know it's been a while since you made this video, but do you remember where you found the wintab drivers for this device? I'm having trouble getting paint tool sai to detect pressure. Thanks!
Just search online for "Surface Pro 4 Wintab Driver Download"
Teoh Yi Chie thanks for your help!

iPad Pro or the iPad 6, or Samsung Tab S4 or S3.
Hi Theo, thanks for your Video! does any of this apps (not Ilustrator) supports vector files?
The other app I know is Affinity Designer
What the difference between this and drawing on the screen of the Samsung note tablet 2014 edition? that cost much cheaper, same size, has better resolution of 2k and same pressure sensitive pen tip , is it worth it
It is more intuitive to draw directly on the screen on the Samsung.
Fantastic review thank you
Can u draw on the screen with the pen, comfortably??

If you're going to buy both, buy the Lenovo Miix 510 first. Maybe after you get it, you may realise you don't need another tablet 2-in-1
hello, what is the best app to use on the yoga book ? (win)

Yes, you can install full Office with it. No problem
Thanks for your reply!
Maximum how many layers if using photoshop?
does wireless mouse is adaptable with this can we run softwares like sketchup and autocad or 3d max???
This computer is not that powerful to run those software. Sketchup yes, but not autocad or 3d max.
Yes you can use a wireless mouse.
Is is compatible with video and audio editing, etc as compared to surface or MacBook air laptop ?
It is compatible but it is not a powerful computer so there is going to be lag when editing media content
Tank you very much!

Hi Teoh, will you be rviewing the yoga 920?
Probably not.
Its a bit late but i want portable drawing device now & Question is theres also lag for paint tool SAI?
Get the iPad 6 (2018) or if you have the budget iPad Air 3 (2019). Very portable and drawing experience with Apple Pencil is good.
@@teohyc thank you for your quick reply, i think ill go for ipad 2018 now
hi, any drawing software can be recommended via using this window version, which can run full functioning?
+ariel chan Try Sketchable, Mischief or Medibang Paint Pro
I personally prefer Krita
Do you think this could run adobe animate cc?
Chuwi Hi12 runs it pretty well.
It has atom z8350. Lenovo Yoga Book has Atom x5 Z8550,which is about 25%-30% faster, and lower screen resolution. So I think if you're working in 720p or 900p resolution, it can work well.
Do you think this can safely run Manga Studio 5/Clip Paint Studio for comic with layers and screentones in A5/B5?
It should not be a problem until the file size gets too big or there are too many layers.
I bought mine 2 days ago and i noticed a dead pixel near the center:(...
You should get it changed if it's possible
Thank you
Medibang the only usable app for this... And autodesk sketch... Because those 2 programs are the only ones i know that have all the shortcut on screen... 😂 on photoshop, you'd need a keyboard... Unless u turn the keyboard on and off... But it's too much hassle 😂

If that app does not have layers or you don't use many layers, it should be fine.
Considering I'm a layers hog, then I'm gonna guess this isn't the device for me...except to do lineart on the go and finish at home.
AMAZING ONE🍻
Do you recommend this to beginner??
+Siraf 291102 Depends on what you want to do with it.
Is photoshop available in yoga book
+Nani Naidu Photoshop is not free, but you can install on the Windows version of Yoga Book
Can it run animation/motion graphics software like blender or after effect?(°ー°〃)
Those software probably can run but the performance is expected to be very slow.
Teoh Yi Chie thank you for the information ✨🙏
Does it have pressure?
Yes
Hi. ifever i download an android simulator like bluestacks or memu (for sketchbook pro/adobe sketch) will the pressure sensitivity still work on it? thanks! :)
Not sure about that.
is that true that windows version doesnt support wi-fi?
+bang komar It has wifi
thank you..

test how slow ps6 loads with more aps open
+Richard Mika I no longer have the Yoga Book to test. But I can say that loading time is not much different from a desktop with a 7200rpm hard drive.

Joseph Mcqueen did you watch the damn video?
little3rddegreeburns nope. Not full. It's big. So I just asked questions.
