This was their 5th & final #1 hit single. Everyone has to slow it down sometimes even at the disco it is nice to have a slow dance with your lady.
There is a reason that bass is thumping. KC co - wrote the song with the bass player Richard Finch.

It was surreal when I would go out in the mid 90's when artists were sampling 70's music like crazy into hip hop and other dance music. Young people would play these songs and I wondered if they thought it was original. So I would play the original songs on the jukebox and watched the look of bewilderment on their faces as they realized their favorite songs were really samples of 70s music (which they claimed to despise). Funny stuff.

Harri, this song brings back big memories. I was on the self defense force with the US military stationed in Bahrain and was on the dance floor my Birthday/Christmas time 1979 when they played this at Tylos Disco and I was dancing with my English Girlfriend and I got tapped on the shoulder to get back to the base right away, as the song was playing please don't go and I was part of the Iranian evacuation during the Iranian Hostage crisis. I didn't see Sharon for four months and as soon as I got back to bahrain at Tylos, we had that played so we could slow dance that! Great memories.

Another great reaction Harri, to answer your question if KC, real name, Henry Wayne Casey wrote this song the answer is yes.
He and band member, Richard Finch co-wrote all of their songs.
The first big hit they wrote before forming the band was Rock Your Baby, sung by George McRae went to number 1 on American music pop charts in 1974 convincing the pair to form their own band.

I really love the concept of these reaction videos. I realize that a lot of times the person is not actually hearing the song for the first time, but it's still very cool to get a person's opinion on a song that I love.
That being said, I would say about 96% of these have very insincere blurbs as responses. Only one I know even has the guts to say "sorry, I just didn't like it. Few have any detail to offer. As a watcher, it's very easy to see through the hundreds of people doing this. "Yeah, good, good song! Please like and subscribe..." ain't gonna get it.
All that to say this, your responses at least seem sincere, I can't ask for much more. Your commentary lasted more than a minute, good also. Only the 2nd one from you I've seen, but you're in my top 5 reactors, for what it's worth! Thanks!

Ok Harri: Glad you enjoyed this atypical piece from KC. It was a good song by him, released after his heyday. I realize you liked the ballad itself and KC's fine vocals. Now, please don't get me wrong. I liked KC and the Sunshine Band. I have nothing against them. I used to boogie down on the dance floor to many of their releases. Respect and affection. However let's get some perspectives correct 1st. They seem to get a lot of attention in retrospectives; but there is also a need to pay some dues to the other great bands of the era, larger ensembles with a horn section focusing on dance music, and yes who even did slow tempo ballads. If you have never reacted to Sly and the Family Stone, the godfather of funk and disco, then turn your attention to the master. (Pardon this but KC is a mug of vanilla Ovaltine by comparison.) Sly, when he was on, showed up and was str8 and sober, could rip the rafters off the hall. I saw them 1st in college on a double bill with The Beachboys. One group tried to outperform the other that night and the stadium reverberated for weeks. Sly is historically important. Here they are on ABC's In Concert.
    ruclips.net/video/8LuHKgpAzCM/видео.html
Why stop there!!! How about Kool and the Gang? The incredible machine that had a boatload of top tens with some of the funkiest hits ever recorded. Savor this! 'It's a Celebration'.
    ruclips.net/video/3GwjfUFyY6M/видео.html
OR how about The Isley Brothers! Another significant and iconic group, long lasting with tons of power and finesse. Try 'Who's That Lady'. Simply Exquisite!
    ruclips.net/video/BW8-BRnbV-Q/видео.html
Or LTD performing 'Back in Love Again' featuring one of the most powerful voices in funk, Jeffrey Osbourne, along with it's dancing horn section! OMG, better than sex.
    ruclips.net/video/Er-CXTh4Ves/видео.html
Here is the ultimate disco song performed by another powerhouse group, The Trammps. At this point they are almost forgotten but I dare you to watch this without admiring this staggering spectacle. This song would just kill on the dance floor at Studio 54, or any other disco anywhere for that matter. 'Disco Inferno'.
    ruclips.net/video/u5lSeYd_riw/видео.html
Or how about the incredible group Chic. The greatest travesty in Rock Hall history. Nominated 11 times and still not inducted. ( they did finally individually induct Niles Rogers for his career) . They were hot. Here is 'Le Freak." ruclips.net/video/4-Vz6tNfV1Y/видео.html
I could go on, I am omitting many. I purposely focused on groups that played their own instruments. So I left out great performers like Tavares, The Spinners, the Sylvers, Shalamar, DeBarge and Switch. Apologies. Tonight I just had a hankering for something more than Ovaltine. :)

Dawn!!!!! You are making a black man blush here! Erection selection 😂🤣😂🤣😂 I had some cassette tapes made under that label.
Clubs like Hammersmith Palais ans Ilford/Romford Palais were notorius for erection selection. It was standard in black clubs though..Great times
