    After viewing your channel, it helped me decide which avenue to take while building my new skates. Gladly appreciate the work and time you put into these videos.

      No problem! You can't screw them up. Even if you do , you will get use to them very quickly lol

    What are the pros/cons of large to small wheels?
    Is it for the look or the skating experience? And what are the differences?

    Is there more control with the smaller wheel?

    I rode white lightnins back n the day. Id like to cut down a tall set to the white lightnin size but Ive only heard 54mm.

    Why would you choose various various sizes/materials of wheels and what drives that decision?

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  4 года назад +4

      The harder the wheel the more slide you get. Also you can switch your feet around pretty quick with no trip up. Same with the small wheels. Less to trip up on. You would only go small with hard wheels like woods or fibers not urethane

    Do you have a video on cutting wheels. I'm curious on how it's done

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  4 года назад +1

      You need a lathe to cut it down. Its a pretty expensive machine. They use to make a small version just for skate wheels but the company that made them went out of business and the machines are really hard to find.

    Your 50 wooden wheel i have that everytime i ride my skate it barely moves so idk what’s wrong with it. I losen the wheels and still nothing. I ride them on the concrete like the side walk n stuff is that the problem?? Do I need to ride my wooden skates on a wooden floor??

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  2 года назад +1

      Yes wood works best on wood. Although, before urethane, wood was all we had.
      I would say it's the bearings.

    Thank you so much for responding! how big are the maple slider woods?

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  3 года назад

      No problem, I think they are 37 or 40mm. Not 100% sure. Google suregrip wood wheels. They are only like 35$ for a set. Fibers are 130$. You can always have the woods cut down for 20$ at skate fanatics as well

    So if I get the 38mm I don’t have to make adjustments unless I go with the 32mm fibers ?

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  4 года назад

      38 should be fine. No adjustments needed

    So if my current wheel size is 58mm I can switch to 57mm? Would I have to switch my bearings too? I'm having trouble finding 58mm wheels.

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  4 года назад

      You should be fine, 58 basically 57. for most wheels they run 57mm and jump up to 63mm never really heard of 58 but I'm not a wheel guru. Bearing size is only for the axel and will fit any size wheels

    Glad I found your channel. Lot of good info here! Are you able to make a video on how adjusting you’re cushion tightness affects your skating and how to achieve the most balanced settings. I use the fo mac slicks and when I first got back into skating messed with my trucks and kindve wish i hadn’t .

    • @freeflydenny
      @freeflydenny  4 года назад +1

      Yeah that would be a good video forsure. I personally keep my trucks some what loose. I know when mine are perfect when I loosen the king pin enough to easily turn my cushions with my fingers. I keep my kids skates the same.
      Thanks for the props!
