This is such a good combo! Using the Rc 2 outside in bright conditions is very tough! The goggles make it much easier! Get my DJI Cheat Sheets and Video Luts here - dmprovisuals.com
So! If this is now possible, then its technically also possible to use the controller 3 with the mini 4 pro. Now that would be the perfect set up. (1) Controller (1) goggles (2) drones 🙌
The reality is that having an FPV mask without the camera functions reduces the actual use of the drone platform. FPV is perfect for really well judged shots. Saves time and effort later. Screens are too small and too much light to always has been to give excellent shots in my opinion.FPV with photo platform is the best for the nature shots I do. Total game changer. A firmware update for the camera AND hand controller would be excellent!
Since childhood, I've been fascinated by the idea of flight. Now, flying drones brings me an unparalleled sense of joy and freedom, rekindling the wonder of my youth. It's as if I'm soaring through the skies myself, feeling carefree and exhilarated. Every time I pilot a drone, I'm reminded of the magic of childhood, and it fills me with pure delight.
Couldn't agree more... love my Mini 4 Pro with the Goggles 3, but I also really appreciate the RC Motion 3 for control. It gives you so many additional options, but I really wish they would bring the tracking and quick/master shots features to the Goggles/RC Motion 3 combo. I found that I could get much more dynamic videos once I got the hang of using head tracking with the motion controller... once you have your head/hand coordination down, you can get some amazing tracking shots with much more dynamic camera motion than the RC 2 allows.
I REALLY just want to put the avata 2 into a space, click "Sphere photo" let it shoot, then onto the next scene. Wish this was an option, honestly, no other bells / whistles, a simple thing
@@ZacMcAdam Yeah I get this too. The Avata would be a great drone to use onboard a boat as it is a lot safer to land, but it doesn't seem to have the basic cinematic features (that i'm sure it could have) that the Mini pro or air drones have.
I have been using the googles 3 with my mini 4 and i absolutely love it the flying experience is so much more exciting than watching the screen.. Hopefully the future updates or new releases start coming out with the goggles and added features..
Perfect timing. I went out a few days ago with my Air 3 and RC 2 and it was a bright overcast day around 10:30 am. I literally could not see what was going on on the screen at all.. I had to immediately bring the drone back to the ground and scrap the flight. I think the NIT brightness of this controller needs to be a least double what it currently is to be of any use when the ambient light conditions overwhelm the screen brightness.
Question please: The Gogg 3 have only about 1200 meter range, so if you get to the limit would it be safe / recommendable to switch OFF the Gogg 3 and depend on a automatic "fall back" on the RC2 controller that apparently have a much further Rx range? Please advice, taa
Hello. I tested the Mini 4 pro with the Goggles 3 and there are so many options missing....The vertical shooting switch and master shots are mandatory... but it's missing... it was a nice experience but the lack of features made me go back to the remote screen. Thanks for the review.
When using the RC2 and Goggles 3 with the Mini4 pro, is the RC2 or the Goggles antennas that's communicating with the drone? I'm curious if the Goggles just connect to the RC2 through wifi but it's the Goggles that connected to the drone or the other way around.
It's too bad the RC2's screen goes blank. I would like to offer "passenger" rides to people who aren't pilots - they wear the goggles; I pilot the drone with the RC2.
This setup won't work with the Neo. I'm gutted after buying the goggles thinking that the RC2 will work with the 4 pro and the Neo, DJI needs to sort this out with an update.
For those who like me have the mini 3 pro, goggles 2, RC (not pro) you can fly without the motion 2 controller. Just take off before switching on the goggles. The functions are limited though (thanks DJI ! 😡). You can record video via the goggles screen pull down menu. The motion controller 2 is fun for flying low around obstacles etc, but the RC is way better for everything else. I hope DJI will release an update for the above, as many of us can’t afford to continually spend £1000 upgrading every 12 months. Good video s always 👍🏻
Probably NOT the Goggles 2 as I think they use Ocusync 3, however, I "think" you should be able to pair up ANY "OcuSync 4" devices with each other. I came here looking for that exact answer. I own a Mini 4 Pro/RC-2, NEO and also the Motion Controller 3/Goggles 3. I'm hoping I can get the RC-2 to work with the NEO and Goggles 3 and will be testing in the next week after the holiday hooplah. I KNOW I can fly the NEO with the RC-2 but have yet to try it with the goggles 3 as well. I've ONLY tried the combo of the Goggles/NEO/MC-3 and THAT works...but the RC-2? I THINK it SHOULD work! (fingers crossed) ... The MC-3 is kinda neat with the NEO but I really wanna try it with the RC-2/Goggles 3.
I have been waiting for this combo for a while thank you for this video. I’m really curious if can you still use the c1 or c2 button for the aux light at the bottom of the drone
I'm new to Drone shooting so thinking about getting the Mini4 pro with the FPV goggles. The main purpose is to be shooting photos and videos and possibly using some of the auto mode for creative shots, but you said that feature is disabled when using FPV? I've only used the DJI Air (first one) a long time ago and wasn't a very good pilot and it was hard to see and I hated using my phone. it kept running out of batteries lol
I did get a matte screen protector for my RC 2 controller to make it easier to see the screen. As far as I can tell it just doesn’t work that well on cloudy days. Haven’t tested it in Sunny days yet
Love your videos (and your cheat cards - hugely helpful.) Two questions - can you use cruise control with the mini 4 pro and the goggles, and in your opinion, can you see quick shots and tracking getting added to the goggles? With so many updates, I'm really hoping so.
I’m still absolutely in LOVE with my original Mavic and original goggles. Using the Head-Controlled-Gimbal makes it feel like a piece of illegal military tech. The low-noise props mean that I have to be right on top of someone to be heard. And that amazing gimbal control makes it feel like you are really flying. The compatibility limitations on the different goggles and planes have been the main thing that has stopped me from upgrading. Right now, the refurbished Mini 3 with RC for 439 is super-tempting. But there simply isn’t a goggles option for the mini 3. I assume that there is some upgraded radio tech in the 3 Pro that means it can handle goggles while the standard 3 cannot. But I can’t help but to get really annoyed about it. Paying big money for a drone makes it REALLY hard for me to enjoy it.
Great video thank you! I have the Avata 2 and Mini 4 Pro, both are awesome for different situations. Not tried the Goggles 3 with my Mini 4 Pro yet but will give it a bash over next couple days!! DJI is such an awesome company. Do they auto connect when you turn them on please? No need to repair every time? I love the motion 3 and the RC 3 with my Avata 2, turn one off and the other on, and they just seamlessly connect with ease. Is it the same with the goggles 3 and mini 4 pro please? Also no problems then when using googles with Avata 2?
The goggles is also great when just looking around for new photo op. the clarity and no glare view is hands down superior to squinting on the controller's display when the ambient lighting is overpowering
It’s a shame someone else can’t select the modes eg tracking on the RC2 while the flyer uses the drone. Aldo, do the goggles have the colour adjustment for D Log M?
I purchased mine a few days ago. The are good but you can only video at a frame rate of 60 fps (HD and 4K). As I do not have an Avata ( only a Mini 4 Pro) I had install the latest firmware using the fly app on my phone. I had a lot of problems connecting the phone with a standard USB data cable. You have to connect the googles to the supplied OTG connector or it will not connect!
When using the controller, do you get the image on the controller screen or just the goggles. Also when I don't want to use the goggles will the controller work as normal without going through the setting again?
What you just showed with the dji fly app on your iphone - I'm convinced that that setup is also possible on the RC2, no? At least it also has a home screen with the connection tab bottom right corner on the rc2. Hmmm....
@DMProductions This is great! When I get my Avata 2 package, I'll have all I need for this to happen. I may not use Goggles 3 with my Mini 4 Pro as much, but it's great to know I can use the goggles with it and the RC 2. Thanks, Darren
does the screen work at the same time for the controller and the goggles ?? I'd like to pass the goggles to another person and be able to use the controller while I fly around..... would be nice if both the controller and goggles mirror while flying around...
Been flying various fpv for years using dji goggles and have always wished for that immersive experience with the mavic series. its been a long time coming. I'm curious to know, once you're synced with the remote, do you have to redo it each time you fly? Or once your synced, you don't need to repeat the process?
Yes you do have to connect the cable to your phone each time for it to switch over , you can then remove the cable , it doesn’t take long like a minute but would be good if it did it automatically
Great video as always! Have you tried " find my drone"? How do you use it with this setup? Maybe just turn off googles and use the controller? I've ordered the googles, just thinking ahead. Can't find anything on this topic
Great review Darren. All well and good if you already own the Avata 2 with Goggles 3 Package I suppose....I have the Mini 4 Pro with RC2. . and as an ordinary everyday guy, I cannot justify the cost of an extra £600 just yet! I have already decided that the Avata 2 will be my next big DJI Purchase, so I am prepared to wait until prices reduce when the next big thing arrives.
Hi, thx for the great video. I got a pair of Goggles 3 after watching your review. Like you said there are a few things that are bothering me and two of them are that we can’t take pictures vertically and again you cannot take pictures in bracketing HDR. I am so much hoping DJI will fix this because those are the two most used functions I use from my RC 2 controller when taking pictures.
Is there anyway that you can have both the goggles and the RC2 showing what the drone sees, in case you wanted to fly it for someone who just wants to wear the goggles
Hi,just a quick question regarding a drone law in Canada. We are going to Alberta next year and recently saw that you virtually can't fly a drone anywhere. I have a HoverAirX1 and wandered if you knew wether I could fly that beings it's only 125gm. Not sure if you have already done a video regarding this, but would be good to see one off you to address this issue...thanks.
Not anything todo with this video but I have just got the mini 4 pro and bought your editing package. What video editing software should I use use to use your package on as I can only see photo sites. Sorry if you have covered this if you have can you send a link please
I sooo wish this setup would work with the dji Neo, I have the RC2 and use it with my Neo but I was forced to buy the fpv controller to run the neo with my goggles
Hi Darren, first great video as always, to your knowledge are they not doing any more updates to the mini three that’s what I currently have right now thank you and will any other newer equipment work with a mini three?
I think the 4pro rc2 screen is good in the sun its brighter than the mini 3 pro and rc controller but dont you have to have a spotter if you have goggles on?
The rc2 is good but in bright conditions it’s really hard to see clearly, during high noon with max brightness it’s not great. It need the 1000nits screen from the rc pro in any future models
Great video Darren, im looking forward to your vegas ones, you showed a quick one flying your drone by the Hollywood sign which really impresed me, i always wanted to do that, I just thought that area was restricted with drones, im assuming you got special permission, either way great video
We like your videos as a youtubers and a product tester we need you to talk to the gopro and dji of somme broblems that are not fixed yeat ... in gopro the problem of multicam mode in gopro the remote 2020 when you conect 2 camera or more .. one of them is hero 12 black .. the hero 12 lost conection with the remote ..... its 8 month and it is not fixed ..... the second problem is the dji mic 2 dont work with the hero 12 black in bluetooth conection is stuck in the pairing mode .... try to send our voice to the gopro and dji to fix this 2 problem plz
I’ve tried this with the integra googles. No joy. I’ve been trying every combination possible and it only seems to work with googles 3. My mini 4 has the RC-N2 controller, works with that. But when I try the Integra googles, I get the view in the googles but it gives the warning that controller not connected. On the connected phone the only option is the motion controller. Also I always have to bind the drone to the googles even though it says their connected. Hoping for an update to use the integra googles
Just followed you Sir and got this combination working. if you add an iPad10 via a 2m usb-c, you can view menus from the iPad in 1080 and also have a spotter… Any way to do the auto takeoff/ landing?
What a great idea, must be great to fly using the goggles and not relying on seeing the RC2 screen on sunny days. But is it strictly legal in respect on needing a spotter with FPV and visual line of sight rules? Just saying.......
So much more fun flying with motion controllers! Not sure why older drone pilots popo them? Every RUclips video I see shows them flying great with motion controller then when they go to stick controllers they crash, but want us to believe that's better?
Would you happen to know if Goggles 2 and RC2 are compatible with the Mini 4 pro? I know the Goggles 2 are compatible but I would like to use my RC2 controller. Thanks
It doesn’t Best way to find out is go to the DJI store and see the compatibilities for each drone/RC/Goggles. You can mess around with it and see what can be used on that specific thing or not.
Might come across as a funny question, I wear glasses. Any room in the goggles for Eyewear? Have not heard any mention of that. Informative vid as always.
They come with different strength lenses and diopter adjustments so I think the idea is you use them instead but maybe someone who has glasses could comment.?
I’m pretty sure you don’t need to use a smart phone. I believe you can plug the goggles directly into the RC2 controller, since it is considered an android device.
i miss the very most, the goggles ONLY to work as an alternativ display 🤷🏼♂️ i WANT to be able to switch the cameras of my Air 3 !!! ... and how much fun it would be, to be able to give the goggles to someone else, while i fly by the RC2 display ?😎 THAT would be the setting I would LOVE to use 😁
Yeah not at all mate. Far better option is use that controller with Xreal Air or similar - can still peer down and use touch screen as well as all other settings but have a massive screen right in front of you. I have all these combinations working with mini 3 pro and mavic 3. Do try and keep up 🙂👍

@@DMProductions ive not really had many issues personally but brighter the better i guess
@@Kobro10 is one hiigher res? because im sure the rc2 looks either brighter or clearer ?
does this work with the mavic 3 classic? i getting a red warning that it only works with the motion controller
It would be nice if you could also use the RC2 and the Avata 2
So you can’t use 70mm lens at all when using goggles??
I use the Integra.... how diffucult is it for DJI to have this combination work as well???
Nothing at all, but dji wants to sell more goggles 3...
Hw are things?- Dm, like it. you did splendid sharing!
What?
Any hopes this will work with Integra Goggles?
Can you use the rc 3 with the integra and air 3
Does the mini 4 pro work on goggles 2?
Can I do this with my Integra Goggles?
Also looking for this answer!
Excellent tips! Do you have a list of interesting places to fly in the LA area?
La has loads but loads of restrictions all over the place , use dji flyspots before you set off but as you’ll see it lights up with restrictions.
Will this work w the Integra?
Does it work with goggles 2
Let me confirm that
@@DMProductions No, Goggles 2/Integra don't accept DJI RC 2 as a controller.
I wish
vertical view would really helpful or at least grids to the vertical view
Can we do this with Goggles 2?
How does this comply with line of sight rules n regs? Just asking for a friend 🙂
Who are you? The feds?
Gotta try this
Just followed you Sir and got this combination working. if you add an iPad10 via a 2m usb-c, you can view menus from the iPad in 1080 and also have a spotter…
Any way to do the auto takeoff/ landing?
Ooo cool good find , I’m hoping they add more
@@DMProductions auto-landing?
This sounds great and fun but not many will be able to handle the motion sickness!
Hello I can't download dji fly on my mobile. How can I binding the goggles with my RC2 and my mpro4
i have dgi rc 2 (dji air 3) and dji googles 3 in this concept who gets signal from AIR 3?
Would you happen to know if Goggles 2 and RC2 are compatible with the Mini 4 pro? I know the Goggles 2 are compatible but I would like to use my RC2 controller. Thanks
It doesn’t
Best way to find out is go to the DJI store and see the compatibilities for each drone/RC/Goggles.
You can mess around with it and see what can be used on that specific thing or not.
Literally in the start of your video, you say the FPV drone is the perfect combo….thanks
That lake in Lake District?:) nice place , I was there few weeks ago with my drone:)
It’s my second home love it there
@@DMProductionsIm trying to go there more often. Unfortunately its like 7 hours drive from my area…
Tried it as you said, Air 3 couldn't be found in GoFly app. Suggestions?
Might come across as a funny question, I wear glasses. Any room in the goggles for Eyewear? Have not heard any mention of that. Informative vid as always.
They come with different strength lenses and diopter adjustments so I think the idea is you use them instead but maybe someone who has glasses could comment.?
@DMProductions Thanks Darren, I was not aware of that adjustability,
But in the UK, don't we have to be accompanied by an "observer" when using goggles?
Are you able to fly it 6ks.
I wear prescription glasses, can I adjust the goggles so that I don't need my specs?
Yes. I wear glasses and don’t need them or contacts for the goggles 3 and you can pick in the diopters once dialed in
I’m pretty sure you don’t need to use a smart phone. I believe you can plug the goggles directly into the RC2 controller, since it is considered an android device.
i miss the very most, the goggles ONLY to work as an alternativ display 🤷🏼♂️
i WANT to be able to switch the cameras of my Air 3 !!! ... and how much fun it would be, to be able to give the goggles to someone else, while i fly by the RC2 display ?😎
THAT would be the setting I would LOVE to use 😁
Will this work with mini 3 Pro and RC controller?
No
Does this work with the RC3 from the Avata2?
Sure yes
So now I got to find someone selling a Mini 4 Pro without controllers 😅
Ok, but how to return to controllers display if you want to fly without googles?
Just turn the goggles off and it will switch back
@@DMProductionsI see, thank’s ! 😇
Yeah not at all mate. Far better option is use that controller with Xreal Air or similar - can still peer down and use touch screen as well as all other settings but have a massive screen right in front of you. I have all these combinations working with mini 3 pro and mavic 3. Do try and keep up 🙂👍
