Insane Glintblade Phalanx Glitch

  • Glintblades, or "Homing Soul Masses" or "Pursuers" in previous games have always been very buggy when it comes to how they function in multiplayer. But this is the only clip I have and know of where this particularly amusing glitch happened.

      Player Vs. Player dmg registration is only done on the attacker's end, so even if my game was confused into firing them at me, they won't do dmg unless it did the same on his end. Which as we can see from his pov they didn't fire at all and simply settled in my chest for some reason.

      My headcanon for this is a dmc situation where amirs blades went to block josh's blades hence why theyre still at the chest

    I've had a dude in the colloseum glitch out and appear as if he had a constant single strand of unendurable frenzy firing out for the whole match

      Probably has something to do with the glintblades firing as the other guy casts glintblades
      Dont see anything else thats remarkable so i guess you dont have to worry

      Whilst you're most likely right, it remains a terrifying thought nonetheless - that the entire phalanx would turn against the user at point blank, regardless of whether it would even deal damage.

    The glintblades at the center of the body are definitely new to me, but I've seen something like this before in ds3. When two people using HSM would fire their orbs at slightly different times, sometimes one of them would track the other & fire into the ground where they're heading. Good to see it's still in Elden Ring lmao.

    Had a somewhat similiar glitch where a friend of mine was permanently spewing the fire from AoTC: Breath on my screen only, even after he died. There’s definitely something funky going on causing certain effects to persist

    What if this is some kind of error that "resets" the glintblades to their "intended" position? I know a lot of buffs specifically have VFX that center around that exact portion of the player character, and it would make sense that Glintblades count as a castable buff of sorts. Of course they have to be anchored to the character's body somehow, and in an arching pattern. I wouldn't be surprised if whatever happened massively reduced their hovering radius on the other player's screen.

    Hey, Amir. Love your content, and thank-you for letting the community see under the hood so to speak while you explain the finer mechanics encoded into the game.
    Speaking of glitches, have you or anyone in the community tested out Serpent Hunter and all of the weird interactions it is having with weapons?
    Sure, we know about the hard swap Serpent Hunter+Ghizas Wheel with an offhand Stand Off AOW weapon making a machinegun but there's also an interaction with Rivers of Blood pulled off similarly that gives Corpse Piler the range of Serpent Hunter's special attacks when you're fighting Rykard.

    Amir have you noticed that Royal knights resolve will stay active for some multiple hit attacks such as running R2 with goodskin peeler landing 3 hits and RKR buffing all of them. Warhawk talons R2 is a double swing and RKR buffs both hits. Some others like godskin stitcher charged R2 and beastmans curved sword jumping R2 are both 2 hit attacks but RKR only buffs the first hit. Would be interesting to see why they act differently

      I can check it out later, but it's likely that most multi-hit attacks have a flag set so only the last attack in the chain clears the RKR effect. And thus there are probably some exceptions(possibly by dev mistake) like the beastman curved sword jumping r2 that don't have the flag set on any of the first attacks. I'd hope that it also works off some timer system so you can't just keep your RKR buff for a subsequent attack if someone gets hit by only the first hit of your initial attack.

      @@Amir0 Yeah i think a timer system makes sense. Halberts CR2 is a double swing and the RKR double buff only works sometimes. Probably to do with enemy position and how soon the second swing hits. Rogiers rapier CR2 is fast and buff both hits every time. Godskin stitcher is almost as fast, but doesn't work.

      @@Amir0 After more testing I can confirm the worst. with warhawk talon and godskin peeler. If the first strikes in the combo lands but the last ones don't RKR will stay and you can use the combo a get getting as many as 4 buffed RKR hits with a single use on the godskin peeler and 3 buffed hits on WHT. It's very broken.

      @@Amir0 Also i was mistaken about rogiers rapier CR2 the first hit doesn't do double damage but the buff will stay if first hit lands and second does not. Same with similar CR2 attacks on almost all weapons. Twinblade seems to be the exception. CR2 on twinblade applies double damage 3 times. If done with godskin peeler you can RKR CR2 miss the last hit and follow up with a running R2 applying 5 double damage hits on a single use of RKR. Has to be done in a 8 second window so it's difficult to pull off, but possible

    I have a running idea about how this occurs. I was dueling my friend last night and anytime he was casting a spell I tried to punish with my already active phalanx by turning towards him, but everytime they hit while he was casting (generally towards the end of the animation just as the spell is coming out) my glintblades would not register any damage or stagger. Greatblade Phalanx didnt seem to have this issue however

    i know! (probably not but here we go)
    they prob share the same something (both glintblades) so when both are proc'd at the same time, tthey both target you because the game doesnt realize they're different set of phalanx

    seems to be some sort of weird glitch where spell visual effects linger after the spell has already been cast, i've had arena games where spells like meteorite of astel and placidusax's ruin kept showing the visual effect for the whole match

    I haven't had this happen recently but it's happened to me as well - I wasn't dueling though, I was "running" around mimic'd as one of those stone torches at first step with a phalanx on me while I was spam equipping/unequipping the ritual shield talisman for the vfx, so who knows why it happened there lol.

    Seems like a bug with target acquisition. The phalanx from the phantom overwrote the target for both the host and the phantom.

    looks like only 1 Bullet AI 1000100 can exist at a time, his Bullet AI saw you as an enemy first causing your Phalanx to see you as an enemy as well

      Hmm, but what causes it to happen here and not usually? Do you think there is a frame sensitive timing? Cuz like from the looks of it mine werent spawned on the same frame his fired, nor were mine in a state where they could fire off at that time.
