This video was very helpful in understanding what is needed to update the firmware. All the problems I had disappeared when I watched this video and got 2.1 firmware installed. Sena should have done a better job of explaining that a tablet or Chromebook can't download the "Device Manager" to update firmware. They also are not clear that "Device Manager" is an app for computers and not a general term used when they are referring to the phone app for their various individual products.
@@motoriderspl4380 I tried a random USB-C cable I have for one of my keyboards and it worked for me. I'm not sure why the included SENA cable doesn't work, but another USB-C should work (theoretically).
I have a brand new 50s. This device manager will not recognize the device and will not update the firmware. I’m about to send my unit back. I have spent hours and hours with no luck and watched video after video. Still no luck.
I had the same problem. Solved it by using another cable other than the one provided. My phone uses a Type-C, so I used that cable and it worked right away.
@@headkicked Thanks for the tip on the cable. Sena's own cable wouldn't work, but a regular USB-C cable did. Pretty bad implementation by Sena if you ask me!
@@vkutt0 tried that but when i plugged in a normal usb-c cable it kept connecting and disconnecting on my laptop - heard windows connect and disconnect sound over and over and over
Thanks, after reading a few comments. I just grabbed a non sena usb type C cable and it finally connected.
