I used to go to this park at least once every year and its always been a great experience. One of the best things about the park aside from the rides was the actual service from the staff. They were always very friendly and helpful, and I even remember my mom and I meeting Pat Koch out in the park randomly and she took time out of her day to chat with us a bit as we were waiting in line. Not sure if they still do all of this, but when I used to go they had free parking, sunscreen, and soft drinks which was always a huge plus.

I live 45 minutes away from Holiday world I am a platinum season pass holder, this park is like none other in the world, they rebuild the track on each of their three wooden roller coasters every year in every 5 years they rebuild the entire structure, that is how The Raven can still be in perfect condition after almost 30 years, I can tell you from experience they are the most safety conscious park in the world and the things that they do are just incredible, they build a new ride every year alternating between the water park and the regular Park

Cons: If you go in September and leave at night driving back up to Michigan you'll probably hit a deer like I did with Marissa in the car with me in 2019 on one of those two-lane back roads a few miles from the park because Santa Claus, Indiana is NOWHERE NEAR the interstate.

It's actually 5 mi from the interstate I just went there last week and put in my GPS and I was 5 mi from the interstate

The voyage is such a deceiving coaster because it actually is going up a hill the whole time out! Thats how the triple down builds so much speed

The Granddaddy of All Theme Parks! Or as I like to call it, The Happiest Place in the Tri-State!

I would argue this, Hersheypark, and Silver Dollar City are probably top three independent parks.
No, I don't consider Hershey nor Herschend a "chain". The latter is too small, regional, and doesn't offer things like season meal plans nor season dining plans, season line-skipping passes, etc. These criteria separate corporate parks from independent parks.

Thanks for credit, but you used Theme Park HD's footage, not mine. 😉

On all of my visits, the Raven crew has been awful. I get 1 train ops, but they had zero hussle. Literally 5 minute dispatches. But T Bird and Voyage usually kill it.

Oh interesting, yeah they only day I was there was 1 train ops, it helped the park wasn’t busy when we went !
