I grew up in in Indiana like an hour from Holiday world we used to go every summer. I moved away in 2005. I tell people out here in PA when they talk about dorney or Hershy.... Yeah I had this Park out where I lived. it had a few small roller coasters..... I didn't realize they were considered elite lol.

I wasn’t expecting theming in line at holiday world. Unfortunately this is the one year I won’t be able to go there. I gotta get back there next year.
Having attended this year and last year, I can attest to you guys doing a great job capturing the energy of the event. It truly is a special time being surrounded by all the thoosies and marathoning trimless Voyage.

I was born and raised in Indiana and would go to HW multiple times per year. Have been across the country since 2010 due to work and haven't been since.
I need to go to this event next year! I've been wanting to go for yours, but I really need to make it a priority. I miss Voyage so much!

The only thing that could have improved Good Gravy would be a switch track for capacity. But the ride looks fun. The theming looks excellent and the theme itself is PERFECT for Holiday World's quirky nature. This is some corny midwesterner wholesome fun and it is absolutely what the park is known for.
My kids still love watching the announcement video to this day.
Honestly the one train didn't seem like a big problem when we were there. The length of the line wasn't that bad- and the queue is so cool that you don't mind waiting

We rode out to Holiday world late last summer/fall. It was a really nice little Park but pushing the bounds of how far I'm willing to drive. We rode the voyage about a dozen times until our legs couldn't take anymore, also got a handful of rides on Thunderbird and rode the other wooden coasters at least a time or two.. We managed to accomplish all this by 2:00 so we decided to head back home. This park is a really nice regional Park and I know it's probably asking for a lot, but they really need another steel coaster that's a headlining attraction to get people to come from as far as we had to drive to get there.. It was about 7 hours. That's quite a long drive for only spending a couple hours in the park.. Luckily Kings Island was on our way home so we stopped there for the evening.

Man this vlog is just making me miss Holiwood Nights already. 😭Sometimes it is so hard to find validation having such a... unique hobby, but this event really does make me feel seen being around so many people that all have the same love and appreciation for this type of thing.

That station is amazing.
I think that Good Gravy is the first time that I rewound a video just to look at the cue line. I kind of wish that they did the "wooden" floor all the way to the car departure/arrival area. I don't know the name of the the type of home theming that they were going for, but it is so homely, and so charming! I almost expected trays of hot cookies sitting out on some coffee table or in a kitchen!
Most rooms of the home interior looks like each one followed popular design trends from a different decade.
Day 2, despite the rain, turned out to be a great day too. Enjoyed my first HWN.

Awesome vid. It is impossible not to smile at this video and the joy everyone had. Sarah's iconic black tank top is the only thing more iconic than the Voyage Nightride. One day, it should be in the Roller Coaster HOF.

As a Detroit Lions fan, I'm glad that there aren't clips of the Lions losing on Thanksgiving at that area of the park or on the Gravy Coaster. If you add it Holiday World, I understand.

Hmmm.... I went on Voyage last year for the first time.... Rough ride for me. Since it keeps getting retracked, I will give it another shot at some point.

Just did the park for the first time lovely park with voyage a great coaster. To be honest the boomerang wasn't the best vekoma family boomerang the theming was nice though.
I was on the voyage last September & it beat the hell outta me lol.

PTC trains are the best wooden coaster trains. Glad all three Holiday World woodies run with them.
They are not.
They still hang on because they have a large amount of mechanics able to work them and the company will gladly rebuild them for you if you want them to instead of having to do them in house. But the L restraint design and seats that go with it are truly awful. The only one worse is the Gerstlauer train.
Going to Holiday World for two days and the second day being a rainy day?
My trip this year followed that pattern exactly. Had to scrap going to the water park because of that.
I did ride Thunderbird in the rain, and I would advise against it. Rain drops sting your face so much you have to keep your eyes closed.

The soft pretzel at that little stand right after the covered walk way At Carrowinds is the best amusement park food I’ve ever had. I believe the stand is called Bavarian Pete’s? There’s a guy wearing lederhosen on the sign. The cinnamon bread is highly overrated and will give you a massive stomach ache. It’s really good, but that pretzel At Carrowinds is in a league of its own
Thunderbird opened in 2015, which was nine years after The Voyage opened in 2006. Now, this coaster opened in 2024, which was nine years after Thunderbird opened in 2015. So does that mean that Holiday World is sticking to a nine year pattern and will open their next new coaster in 2033?

we love the idea of a motorbike style family launch coaster in the Christmas section themed to santa's reindeer, where each seat is on a reindeer and the back car is Santa's Sleigh.

I've said it before and I will say it again... Good gravy was the perfect addition to Holiday world lineup, and it sets up the park to have a big hyper coaster as their next addition.
Good gravy gives Holiday world a much needed a family thrill coaster, and it also establishes a working relationship between the park and vekoma. I think that if good gravy operates smoothly, Holiday world will go back to vekoma for a hyper coaster
Vekoma coasters ain't cheap, and remember- this is a family owned park. They don't add coasters often. As much as a hyper would be awesome we agree that their next coaster should probably be another family coaster to help round out their line up even more.
@@CoasterStudios yeah, about once per decade is holiday worlds pace. Maybe a smaller family coaster could help out while keeping the price tag cheap

Sorry about ganking y'all twice on row 3/4 night 1 last train and night 2 toward the end of night. Was not intentional and we honestly felt terrible...its us the @coasterswithmatt crew. I'm his dad and I know he apologized but heres my apology as well. Such an awesome event though! Definitely going back next year!

Are you going to Indiana Beach soon? Triple Loop getting horrible reviews, but people today are so sensitive I never know what to trust. NOT crapping on the younger generation, but my nieces (15-22) won't even go to our local movie theater cuz its "brutal" to sit in their seats lol.
Anyway, I'm expecting a rough ride, but I'm not gonna let it ruin the experience. If I survived Mean Streak a decade ago with cracked ribs, I can handle anything 😂😂😂😂
