@ParrotBliss I love them too. I fell in love with one at our bird store. I was going to get one, ended up getting a Senegal. I still want a Caique and a couple linnies 😊 Too many birds, not enough cages or $$
Excellent video. You’ve really hit the important points. One of my hens will nip when she gets excited. It’s not meant to hurt. We stop it by talking calmly and redirecting her. I think the so called biting is mostly the same thing they do to each other when they play. As I’m sure you’ve probably seen, Caique play can be very rough.😂❤
I have a female caique who is 7 years old. Im thinking of buying a baby caique from a breeder to get her a friend. Do you suggest a male or female? I dont want them to reproduce. Thanks!
You know, if your female is seven, she may not take to a new Caique. She may be used to being the only one. Also, don’t forget, they may not get along until the new one is almost a year old. If you don’t want them to breed, get a female, but, they do really well with either gender when they bond. The question is, will she bond at her age? If I were you, I would try, but you never know. Or, it may take her a long time to befriend the new Caique. If she will, would be the best thing for her, and she would still be bonded to you.
@@ParrotBliss Thank you for the advice, I didn't think of that. I just assumed she would "mother" the baby and teach it her ways lol. When I bought her 7 years ago, she was in a cage with her sister and unfortunately, her sister was already reserved, or I would've taken both home. So that gives me hope that she'll get along with another caique, but you never know. She's very gentle with me, but you never know what the baby caique's personality is going to be like.
I think what you should say is that is a patriot for EXPERIENCES BIRD OWNERS. I love your birds, would love to see all of them
Thanks for the suggestion
They are adorable!! You had caiques hatch babies? They are fun parrots!
They are amazing parrots- yes, one pair had babies which I love! So cute!

They can play rough and then they and the Capes sometimes squeak so I used to come running to check on them. But it’s just play!
They are about the same age as our two babies . I have noticed that after our Bluecrown got his flight feathers he is significantly quieter.
That’s fantastic! I bet he talks up storm too!
I have a black head caique, and I love their colors, the wings make them look like they wear a mantle
Ooo can you show me?
@@Whyareyoug I'd love to but how am I supposed to?
@@rabbit7261 You can actually post a video or i don't know if you have social media

@@TheDodoshwedo Good luck! I think she will like the new Caique or adjust in time and be happy in the long run. 😀
@@ParrotBliss Thank you :D
How to determine a caiques age
Unless a parrot is a baby or very old, it is always very difficult to tell.
Also, how do you become more alpha to the Caiques? Thanks!
I'll make a video response
How are Caiques more loud than other birds? And, how are they more messy? Please explain.
Not sure how to answer - their voice is louder that most birds their size; their cage gets dirtier than other parrots their size.
