- Parrots may bite for various reasons, and understanding their motivations is crucial for responsible ownership. Biting can be a form of communication for parrots, expressing discomfort, fear, or stress. They may bite to defend themselves, their territory, or even their human companions, especially during moments of perceived danger. Boredom or frustration can also trigger biting behavior as a way to release pent-up energy. Additionally, hormonal changes or illness may make parrots more irritable and prone to biting.
Effective parrot care involves providing mental and physical stimulation, proper socialization, and learning to read their body language to prevent bites and build trust.

They can also get ya when they are sleepy and not want to come down off the curtains lol
I’m having a psychic/! I think you are speaking from experience!
Muy buen video
Que lindo eres!
Good video and good shearing 💝👌👍
Thank you, do you have Caiques?
I’ve been following your channel for a couple of months. I have watched a ton of videos to find the right bird for our home. We picked up a cockatiel last week and I couldn’t be happier. He is doing really well too and is already a velcro bird but will go in his cage with no tantrums. The store said he is a boy but I’ll have to wait for the first molt to be sure.
He is only 3.5 months old.
Thanks for the thorough explanation of all the different species. I was so close to getting a pair of parrotlets or a Senegal but decided against it because I have a toddler and my lifestyle just doesn’t fit their needs at the moment. We had a conure but sadly he passed. He was very nippy. Adorable and fun but very nippy.
I was so sure of cockatiel after I saw your tiel video!
Love your birds and videos!
Cockatiels are awesome, easy, sweet- I could go on and on! What did you name him?
@@ParrotBliss We are leaning towards Bowie! But I also love Neo. I think we will know for sure in a day or two.
I’m sorry. I couldn’t quite catch the name and where to buy the coloring books. Thank you 😊

You can use this link to one of them and then click on my author name, KB Raphael and the other books will show:)
@@ParrotBliss Well no wonder. I was looking under KD. Thank you
i love your channel and can't wait to get a bird!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! What kind of bird are you thinking of getting?
@ParrotBliss I was thinking about 2 hanhs macaws but am also looking at the severe and waiting to get your book to see if there are any suggestions I didn't think of, but I plan on getting a male and female of which ever I get 🥰
@@kitten5154 interesting! Which book? I don’t really talk about severe Macaws, because I’ve met a couple, but I’ve never had one. I have been told that hands are sweeter, for whatever that’s worth. They’re also a little smaller, the only a tiny bit. Are you in an apartment? I think getting a male and a female is adorable!
@ParrotBliss your apartment parrots book and I'm so unbelievably excited, I love macaws and the bigger/hefty sized birds cuz I'm more comfortable about not hurting then but I also want one that's not to big so I can have him on my shoulder and do everything with them 😊
Great video .i feel this is the same with my pineapple conure. I tamed him around 4 months old yet if hes with his other bird friends he will fly over and bite me i think due to jealousy and showing me hes in charge .I started letting him out on his own which does help however since going through chemo (did my last round last week ) ive found he is worse or its me as ive got more nervous around him as i dont have my hair covering my ears so he can get straight to them to bite now 😢.However i know it was change for him too as he liked snuggling in my hair. So once im feeling a bit stronger after surgery im going back to basics with the training .Hes also got to that age ,so just over 2 whuch doesnt help matters 🙄
Do you have a wig to wear? That might help to cover your ears.
The only time I’ve found my Caiques will try to bite is if they think we’re trying to force them to do something they don’t want to do. If they back away or start to fuss, we back away. That usually does it. We do have one that heightens very quickly. She tends to give vocal warnings and non blood drawing nips. Whenever she nips, we put her down. And, I think they all go through a teenage period where they have to be redirected. I have one now who is just getting over the earring playing, ear piercing period! I’ve also noticed within the flock my males are more aggressive. They try sometimes to push the hens around but the hens show them who really is the boss.😂❤️
Thank you ,I do have a wig which does help its just I get caught out the time I don't wear it 🙄
@@crazycactuscollector2462I heard wearing a turtle neck will help from them biting you on the neck. Marlene Mccohen had to wear a turtle neck for awhile since her senegals bit her long ago.
Time makes a big difference. Once you are ready, I think training is a great idea. If you can also spend a lot of time with your Conure, I bet things will change :) Keep us updated
I like You and Caiq parrots but I don't understand why they bite You they're so cute 😊.
Think maybe you are BAD?😢.
All parrots bite, and Caiques need an excellent lead parrot in charge. So, I’m working on that with her.
Hi, this is a lot simpler with a little parrot, but what about macaws? They can do some damage and though i can find everything to know about macaws on the internet. There's never a clear answer on what i should when my macaw bites me.
Good question. I’ll make a video and give you the best answer I can-
@@ParrotBliss thank you, I've been trying to find the answer for a while now.
