Adam, if Neb fans are so loyal to the university, why would the university feel the need to not charge fans for tickets during covid? Didn't they know the shortfalls were gonna be record setting?
It all started when you could get into volleyball game with Husker football ticket after Huskers finished playing, watched many games that way, esp. after cold football games, gave you a chance to warm up before going home. That was a great idea of Pettit
I'll add I was at that Miami record setting crowd game in 2014, as well as the big ten opener vs ohio state that comeback was insane, I got tickets to northwestern for the 100 year anniversary game this year, can't wait!
This was an amazing evening. Absolutely wonderful that so many past players were there. No surprise the world record was broken. It was just a matter of what the number would be. Proud to be a Husker. GBR. That tunnel walk gives me goosebumps each and every time. ❤ NE 27. MN 21
The light show after the matches was amazing. The team looks great I believe they will be in the final four. The football team will have a great night and beat Minnesota.
Considering that the Big 10 is arguably the best conference in NCAA Volleyball, & the 3 largest American football stadiums in the WORLD are in the Big 10 (Michigan: 107601, Penn State: 106572, & Ohio State: 102780), I can see one of those schools breaking the record by doing the same thing we did: using their football stadium for a Volleyball game.
I'd say Penn State is most likely to try it, since their volleyball team has won the NCAA TITLE 7 TIMES since 1999, including a 4-PEAT from 2007-2010! Just like Nebraska, their volleyball team has been more successful than their football team during that time. Edit: After looking at Penn State’s attendance stats for last season (even though their facility’s capacity is 6500, only 2 matches drew more than 4000, & 3 more over 3000), I'd say they need to build up their fan base before even CONSIDERING trying a volleyball event at the football stadium! On the other hand, the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas has a listed capacity of 92100, & Texas (Austin) won the NCAA Volleyball Championship last year, while almost always topping 4000 for their home matches.
I’m more proud of having great fans in every sport, than I am about having winning records in my favorite (football). Cuz at the end of the day these are sports. And even when we’re losing, people still talk positively about us. If we didn’t have that title, we truly would have nothing.
Not surprised at all that a new record was set for women's sporting events. We all know that Nebraska fans are the pinnacle of die hard enthusiasts! Tomorrow......NU 28 Minn 24! GBR!!!
Maybe the women will break any curse on the football team in Memorial stadium. This was a feel good day for the University and their sports teams. It’s too early to predict a final 4 run for the Volleyball team. Let’s see how they do against a rated team. First up is Stanford.
There really is no place like Nebraska. I doubt anywhere else could do it with as much class as our fans. My prediction for the game is 31-28 Nebraska ekes out the win last second with a walk off kick from True Frosh Alvano.
It was a great event to watch. I agree. I can see them making it to the final 4. For the Husker football, I hoping a score of 24 NE vs 15 MN. Love your show.
I think that they need to have "Volleyball Day" once a year and fill the stadium. I know that the weather is a huge X-factor, however, I think it is worth the gamble. Such a statement for both the Volleyball team, the University, and the State! GBR!!
I know on the broadcast it seemed like Wisconsin wasn’t happy about it and they we’re going to come back with a record of their own. But they can’t play in camp randle, they would have to play at lambeau field and add a bunch of seats
I see pros and cons to both sides. Creighton is not a public university nor is it within the University of Nebraska system (like 3 of the 4 participants). Wayne State is a 4-year public university. I'm fine Creighton was not included.
Imagine you are a running back that is on the cusp of some great X games over 100 yds per game and there is a storm that ends the game early and you don't get 100 yds. YOU ARE S OUT OF LUCK. Neb DID NOT SELL OUT for their home games during covid. Please tell me how nature stopping one record is different from nature stopping another. Neb's home sellout stopped the game where they played in the stadium and did not sellout regardless if they cooked the books and didn't charge for admission.
@siriushp0904 LOL. They gamed the process to keep the ignorant folk coming after covid. The running back that misses his record because the 4th qtr got called bec of a storm can't game the process and say that game does not count bec it was shorted. He is out of luck. His record stops. For Neb to sellout means they had receipts for every seat during a home game, right? Did they have receipts for every home game during covid. Why not charge for those that attended. Bec they cooked the process.
@@mas5867 you’re confusing a sellout with attendance. Tickets sold doesn’t mean people actually in seats. They could sell 90k tickets and 40k show up. It’s still a sellout. Since you seem to be a stat guy think of it like a WAR card in hockey. There’s literally a stat for ixG. Individual expected goals. A player is expected to match or out perform, but based on other things in his control or out of his control he may be underperforming that number. Nebraska brags about a sellout streak, not a max attendance record. That number is actually tracked, but the sellout is the hill we die on. In some of our leaner years, donors have bought tickets to keep the streak alive because it was in danger of being snapped. It’s not cooking if the ticket is sold. Who cares where the money came from basically. Cooking would be saying a ticket is sold when it’s not. Someone paid for it. With that, I can promise you sellout streak or max attendance streak, Husker fans show up when needed. I’d be more convinced an attendance count was wrong before you could convince me tickets weren’t sold. You can’t fake that for 50+ years and maintain the amount of money flowing through that university
Not just the only women's volleyball team to turn a profit. the only women's program in power 5 period. 522 women's sports. only Nebraska volleyball was profitable. Even if you hate women's sports, this is remarkable.
@@t0fuwaffles The rest of the country places no value in women's volleyball, but yet Neb does. That is remarkable. Neb, the state, sucks so bad, that you all set records for something that none of the rest of the country cares about.
@@mas5867Wow aren't you Mr Positive. A location is only as good as you make it whether in Nebraska or (insert place). And last I checked a lot of colleges place a high emphasis on women's volleyball.
@mas5867 your a clown. Have to be 10yo. If your not happy for this event, no matter where it took place, you hate your mom, sisters and every woman on the planet. Hmm maybe your just.....
This was awesome. It literally sent chills down my spine, especially the Tunnel Walk! What was your favorite part Husker fans?
Adam, if Neb fans are so loyal to the university, why would the university feel the need to not charge fans for tickets during covid? Didn't they know the shortfalls were gonna be record setting?
On further review, fans could not attend the stadium, but could attend indoor watch parties. What a CROCK of S.
Favorite part was breaking the record and watching the team and fans celebrate. Then the drone show, amazing
@stephencostello3174 I would just get the biggest kick if MI did the same thing and charged a penny.
I am SO proud of Nebraska for the massive support of womens sports. Thank you, Husker fans! GBR!!!
It all started when you could get into volleyball game with Husker football ticket after Huskers finished playing, watched many games that way, esp. after cold football games, gave you a chance to warm up before going home. That was a great idea of Pettit
Shot of Coach Cook & L-Rod Tunnel Walk was the moment for me.
Cook coached an actual game in Memorial Stadium before Rhule!!
Awesome volleyball at Memorial Stadium and the tunnel walk gave me chills!!!!!
Awesome, Wonderful, Incredible- Women's Sports Attendance World Record!!! Such a big moment for Women's Sports, Husker Volleyball, and Husker Nation.
Absolutely amazing match moment for WOMEN'S sports so proud it was held by Nebraska. Also had no clue John Cook is only the third coach..
What a great start for Cooks swan song

Great job, Lady Huskers, fans, and the Husker Volleyball Program.
I was there with 92,002 of my closest friends! Amazing experience! Think my name will be in Guinness Book of World Records? GBR!!
My wife and I went it was an awesome experience! GBR!!!!
The tunnel walk was AMAZING
This was epic. We held the record for about a week till Wisconsin took it away from us. Oh yeah??? Hold my beer....92,003!!! Go Big Red!!!
It was a blast being there ! GBR !🏐
Great breakdown Adam! GBR and throw the bones!

Doubt Michigan, Ohio State and Penn St. are going to worry about it. (The world record in women’s sports) They’re to busy winning football games.

There are rumors they've been in talks with Indianapolis Speedway, but that means Indiana would hold the record, not the State of Wisconsin.. haha!
I suspect if it’s broken, it will be broken by UNL women’s VB. Hope they will make another run. Hope for a win tonight
1) No, not surprised
2) Yes, this record will fall as well
3) Yes, another Final Four run
4) Big Red 23, Filthy Rodents 19
Anyone know of UNO's thoughts and experience of this game and setting 🤔❓️ (I ask this because its a fellow Nebraska school)
GO B1G RED 🏐‼️
for sure a volleyball school now
For me, the purist moment was when the little girl embraced Becca Allick in the Colosseum.
20-17 The 3-3-5 Blackshirts!
Yes the record will be broken by Nebraska again!!!!
So awesome 🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘
GBR! ❤
Record will be broken by nebraska next when they do this again without a concert stage as you won't need the side show
bigger attendance? Yes 100%, Nebraska in the final 4 again, 100% why would anyone not believe in that at all?
We are a new team, Minnesota is an established program. Minnesota at home 24-17
Love your videos. However instead of asking someone to buy you a shirt, why not just go to a game and get one?
No surprise….
Yes will be broken if Nebraska plays in the Rose Bowl.
I need to see the v-ball team play a good team, they just have not played at the level a number 4 team should be playing.
Yes in all questions
I also feel we beat Minnesota in ugly old school methods
Texas has a bigger football stadium...little concerning.
It would have been better with creighton there, but happy for them none the less

Texas volleyball clears
The Devaney Center now is too small. Needs to play at Pinnacle bank arena for v- ball now.
Don't you live just outside Boulder and coach young Colorado kids..
No he lives in Omaha
He does live in Colorado. Still, once a Husker, forever a Husker
