He’s obviously very talented and has big potential, I can’t wait to see what he’s able to do during his time at Nebraska. I also love that we’re keeping a lot of these Nebraska guys in state now. What do you all think? #ThePeoplesShow
In-State recruiting has suffered for a while now. So has the program. I think it's linked. Getting young men in from the state to represent Nebraska is huge. I love every players that chooses to play at Nebraska. That said, every Nebraska kid has invested in getting back to the top. Matt Rhule is the guy. Building a staff, team that all pulls in one direction. Massive! Let's Goooooo GBR ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
In state recruiting success is a huge component to the continued success of Husker football - including continued engagement of the fan base. What better way to keep the fan base engaged then to see home grown talent kicking Big10 ass...
#1 “Is Coach Rhule’s (and Adam’s) emphasis on ínstate recruiting important?” Absolutely. I remember when most Nebraska bred football players would not even THINK about playing somewhere else. Rhule is working hard to build instate program loyalty and it will pay dividends down the road. #2. “Is it hard not to be optimistic about the program under Coach Rhule?” Impossible. I haven’t seen a coach work this hard in a long time. Matt Rhule is keeping players at home and taking players from some of highest profile football programs in the country. How optimistic should we be the first year? I guess I’ll say 7 wins optimistic. #3. “Will the Huskers beat Minnesota?” I don’t know. To get to 7 wins they’ll have to beat a team or two in a game they’re not favored to win: Minnesota, Illinois, Maryland…? Somebody
Boo Ya! I'm pumped about him as well as many other recruits. I'm so proud of our new coaching staff . I see a turn around in the not to distant future. Trev choose the right man in my opinion.
Kid looks like a complete package, just gotta see how he adjusts from 8-man ball, to 11-man ball on the big stage. How much can Rhule, Wager, Satterfield, and Campbell, get out of this kid? Regardless, really fun to see a kid from Ainsworth (my family had a long history "next door" in Johnstown) getting this much hype. GO BIG RED!!!
In state recruiting is vital. I like what Coach Ruhle is emphasizing with his recruitment and his staff. I think Nebraska will open up with a victory over Minnesota. Go Big Red!!
I like your take on instate recruiting. Husker missed out on Woodhead when he was the state leading rusher at the time . Obviously didn't matter Woodhead made a name for him self . But yes HUSKER definitely need to instate recruit just like the way you said man no let's go !!! GBR
I agree it is important to keep in state talent, that is where the foundation of a great team is made. I do find it hard to get optimistic given the last few years.
A few more reasons in-state recruiting first is important: 1) It’s easier to ask kids who grew up here to prepare with heart and play with heart when the game is on the line. Because it’s more than just their job or their job training. There’s deeply laid identity there. You don’t have to convince an in-stater over time to identify as a Husker. 2) In-staters are also not going far to be with family over holidays and the like and not getting homesick as often. Small distractions are reduced. 3) The more football hype that the university of the state drums up, the more kids are going to want to reach for that goal. That’s not something you see in the first few years, but a generation later, you can start to see a larger crop of kids who saw and idolized the football program that their state put on and they want to work for it. So establishing an in-state pride in playing at NEB will faaaar down the line result in more good players coming from the state overall, I would argue. 4) My understanding is that Matt Rhule’s bread and butter will be recruiting out of Texas. Therefore, if he’s already winning Nebraska’s recruiting. That means we haven’t even gotten to his bread and butter yet and that’s cuz he’s focused his staff’s energy at NEB first.
Haven’t been this optimistic since Pelini was hired and I was a kid then. Very excited to see all of the good things Matt Rhule is doing at Nebraska, especially how great our recruiting is going and how optimistic things seem to be for the program. It’s always “this is the year, this is the year, I think we’ll have a shot” but it’s no joke this time! Throw the bones 🦴🤙
Nebraska players nearly always set the standard during practice, weight room, school, and community that those coming in from out-state locations might not have experienced.
I’m very optimistic! It’s hard to predict how good year one will be but I feel year two, three, four and so on looks probable that we will winning many, many more games! GBR!
nope you have to start at home, im still optimistic about the new coaching staff, i know this year may be a little rough but the next few years will tell the tale on if we have the right guy, just my opinion we may get alot of really good recruits.....but its gonna come down to development, always have and always will love the huskers, GBR
Do you think the conversation at Nebraska shifting from “we suck, so you can come in and play right away” to “we’ll develop you into the player, and more importantly the man, you want to be at the next level,” is part of the key to this success? Because Nick Saban wasn’t telling Nelson he was coming in to be a starter. Feels like the previous staff emphasized young guys coming in to play right away, and that’s why so many have left
Carter, i think, needs a red shirt year to put on weight, develop blocking skills and adjust to college ball. From there I think the kid has a huge ceiling...

Boo Ya! I'm pumped about him as well as many other recruits. I'm so proud of our new coaching staff . I see a turn around in the not to distant future. Trev choose the right man in my opinion.

Yes, the Guarded Optimism grows
Yes love what coach Rhule isdoing
We now have two 6'5, 4 star Tight Ends in this year's recruiting class. If they can block our line is going to be lethal!
Close to home worked out pretty well for Coach Osborne!
I have no doubt in him becoming a great tight end! A great husker! 💯 Go Big Red!!
I like how he is getting the Nebraska kids and out of state he is rebuilding that broken Texas pipeline
Kid looks like a complete package, just gotta see how he adjusts from 8-man ball, to 11-man ball on the big stage. How much can Rhule, Wager, Satterfield, and Campbell, get out of this kid?

Its hard not to be optimistic right now! I absolutely see Nebraska getting a W against Minnesota
No it’s not hard to be optimistic. His recruiting along with his work ethic seem to be head and shoulders above our last few staffs.
It's hard not to chug the kool-aid right now.
Potential is great.
Instate recruiting is ❤
Nebraska players nearly always set the standard during practice, weight room, school, and community that those coming in from out-state locations might not have experienced.
Going bowling and a surprise upset of a top 10 ten team!!!!GBR!!!!!
We will be undefeated when Michigan comes to town!
Yes to optimism
Has anyone ever ran a 4 TE, 1 rb set?
Yes to it all! ALWAYS protect the home turf.
I’m very optimistic! It’s hard to predict how good year one will be but I feel year two, three, four and so on looks probable that we will winning many, many more games! GBR!
Matt Rhule has it! Love the focus on in state kids. We will get there, bet on it
Yes to Ruhle, Recruiting from State first, and W vs Minnesota
nope you have to start at home, im still optimistic about the new coaching staff, i know this year may be a little rough but the next few years will tell the tale on if we have the right guy, just my opinion we may get alot of really good recruits.....but its gonna come down to development, always have and always will love the huskers, GBR
I’m EXTREMELY cautious. I feel like people are putting him on a pedestal. I get it though. I did that with Scott Frost. Boy did I learn my lesson.
Yes to beating Minnesota! We're gonna sink that boat ...go big red !
Yes cautiously optimistic
In state recruiting is important because the in state kids play for pride of their state and it filters to other players

Good find but hes only 215 to be a TE probably need 10 to 20 pds to add or so without losing speed
Pretty common. That'll be easily done as he gets a few years older.
Yes to beating Minn
I need a carriker shirt. GBR
Day by day....GBR
Recruit Nebraska first. I see more work and a better plan than previous staff. I think Minnesota is a reach but possible
Carter, i think, needs a red shirt year to put on weight, develop blocking skills and adjust to college ball. From there I think the kid has a huge ceiling...
GBR
