"Taken offline by Starscream, when he acquired cosmic power"
That's not the phrase, and you know it, Mr. McFeely!!!! 😖
Chill out. Just deal with it. 🤨
@@jonahdengler3858 I was pretending to be overly outraged for comedic effect, but I guess I failed to make obvious XD
@@swguygardner it was obvious AND funny, don't worry. SOME people just can't help being a grumpy grumplebug.
@misagipanda764 hey now, there's no need for hostility. It was just a simple miscommunication. :) we're all here because we love the Transformers, and Mr Mcfeely's lore videos! We have so much in common! What was your and@@jonahdengler3858 's first introduction to Transformers? Was it a toy, a show, a comic, etc?
I think Chris recognized that he's said cosmically powered Starscream so many times that people binge watching his videos can make a drinking game out of it.
And a new turn on the phrase, _Cosmically-powered Starscream!_
Or Starsically-powered Cosmos.
Take a drink every time he says comically powered starscream
@@maninaspacesuit i guess we can't play that [game] anymore AMIRITE??? 😖
@@jayvbspdx Cant get drunk on Transformers anymore
@@jayvbspdx Nah, it still counts.
“You named him Snarl?”
“Well I did call him “Slag”, but I think he took it as an insult.”
Must be British
Slag literally stole his brother's name! lol, just joking/teasing. In all honesty, it was a pretty clever way to get around the whole issue.
The Stegosaurus mode of the original toy still looks cute without even trying.
I always think the round body and little head make it a cute dinosaur 😄
Just a lovable li'l danger potato.
@@ShatteredTrousers oh good lord, I can't unsee it
Agreed!
Like a lot of those 1984-85 designs, the alt-mode is the focus, and it really works. Even designs since that emulate the original never quite achieve that look, with the competing needs of decent robot mode and articulation getting in the way.
Reminder that the arrangement of spikes at the end of a Stegosaur's tail is called a _thagomizer_ after a Far Side strip from 1982.
A media piece that warped dino knowledge outside the paleontology world that isn't Jurassic park? That's new.
After the late Thag Simmons
Poor Thag, thagomized by the thagomizer.
I love the fact that that's the official term now! A similar thing happened in 1980 when the collective noun 'flange of baboons' was made up by Not The Nine O'Clock News, a sketch comedy programme in the UK. ruclips.net/video/M_et8_f4ork/видео.htmlsi=WLbMb7GiX3wrAV5A
Everyone loves Grimlock, but Snarl was the first Dinobot I transformed successfully, and he became my favorite. I relate to his character all too well.
WHICH Snarl toy?
There are a lot of them.
Be specific.
@@sorasong9708 the original G1 figure.
@@RobPryme I don't have any of his toys, not even Bayformers or Prime Wars Trilogy.
The AOE Snarl was one of, if not my first dinobot toy.
@@ltb1345 I don't have that one, but I have Grimlock and Swoop and Slug and everyone except for Snarl or Spikes.
Snarl will always be my favourite Dinobot at heart. As I got the figure for Christmas 86 from my Dad & Mum.
Same here
The full Dinobot team appearing at the end of Cyberverse was kind of bittersweet. While they were finally all together, it was inferred their whole planet was populated by Dinobots, all taking the forms of the dinos shown in Grimlock's transmission. So that means we lost a whole planet of dinobots before we even knew we had it. 😭
It's good to see Snarl getting more screentime as of late
Toei and AKOM seem like the wildest bunch of animation studios ever. Even though they have designs and character bios for everyone including sub-groups they saw ONE script reference to "Four dinobots" and ran with it for the entire animated movie.
To this day, it still bothers me that outside a couple of clips, Snarl wasn't seen in "The Transformers: The Movie." My head canon is that he stayed on Earth to protect and rebuild Autobot City alongside Blaster. Here's hoping he gets better treatment in the future.
"He's the silent loner of the Dinobots."
First thing that came to mind was he was the Ice Bear of the Dinobots. Imagine him speaking in the same tone as Ice Bear but replace him referring to himself as "Ice Bear" with "Me Snarl"
What’s an Ice Bear?
@@cowpuddles4851
The Polar Bear from the show We Bare Bears. His name is literally Ice Bear. He doesn't talk much but when he does he talks in a monotone voice and he refers to himself in the third person ("Where is Ice Bear in these pictures? Ice Bear wants answers.")
Huh. I never heard of that. Thanks.
Ah, a person of culture
Snarl is my favourite Dinobot. After Jazz he was the second Transformer I owned as a Kid. He also was my first Action Master Figure.
Did someone say "Jazz"?
I always figured in the movie, snarl was already at Autobot city and stayed there with Blaster to continue repairs
Snarl was always my favorite Dinobot since watching reruns of G1 in the late 80s, largely because Stegosaurus is my favorite amongst those 5 prehistoric reptiles. But it was also because, despite the fandom's insistence on Dinobots always having swords (yes I know all of the original toys had them and Grimlock certainly uses one on and off), he is the only one to be seen always using a sword in fiction...albeit sometimes to just shoot lasers from it 😅
I hope Snarl is a playable character in the new Transformers Game.
I wonder what going on with that?
@@matthew_natividad Same here.
Why should Grimlock have all the fun?
@@kidprime6863 Exactly and they better have Sludge along with the other Dinobots this time.
@@isaiahgonzales6907 Especially Swoop. I wanna fly around as a pterodactyl.
his G1 toy also became the base for a Brave series character named Armor Geist from Brave Exkaiser.
Stegosaurus has always been one of my favorite dinosaurs, so Snarl is certainly my next favorite Dinobot after Grimlock. I do admit it though, I have a softspot for Cybertron Snarl, given that Scott McNeil does his voice in the English dub.
Now all we need is Sludge and Swoop.
My absolute favorite Dinobot, even above Grimlock who is legendary for me! Snarl deserves a more prominent role going forward and hopefully he will get that from now on.
I've always loved Snarl,he was always one of my favourite Dinobots ❤
In my school vr game Snarl played an unexpected role where he with the upper moon 1 demon Kokushibo trained Goalius in combat against the Raiden Shogun but sadly was killed by Mandroid to put Grimlock back in line
What 😭
What-
5:41 I was wondering if you'd have room to talk about the other Snarls. That one's my favorite Beast Wars toy. I don't know why. There's so many legendarily-good toys in Beast Wars, but my uncontested favorite is a stubby little vampire squirrel with a laughable gimmick and headfeet. He just charms my socks off.
The Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Film of the Transformers universe.
Regarding the 1986 movie, apparently, there was some note that said that only four Dinobots could be onscreen at a time. Thankfully, the one comic adaptation rectified that.
Snarl's absence in the movie was "explained" by the BotCon 2014's script reading Prevenge.
12 minutes of Snarl! One of my all time favourites. This is good work my friend 👍
0:47 Some of those G1 toys were works of art.
Good work on the video lore on the Dinobot Snarl, my friend! Like both the dinobots and dinosaurs, Snarl, too, is my favorite both dinobot and dinosaur as well.
The Marvel UK story about Snarl's mind being transferred into the body of a real Stegosaurus is very morbid, given how he was described as hating his dino mode.
It's been speculated that that story was written as a way to explain Snarl's abscence from the 1986 Movie, but no one knows for sure.
Happy to see some love for Snarl
He and Swoop are my favorites of the group, and I had both as a kid. The original toy had a fatal flaw that was disappointing though, because the front legs of the dinosaur have a tendency to pop off from the springs that held them on when transforming them and putting them into the grooves of the legs. I literally had on break not more than a half hour after getting it home from the store, returning it for another one, and having the same thing happen not long after. I just kind of kept it as it was after that, being able to put the leg back on, but couldn't really transform it properly ever.
Snarl transforms into the greatest of the dinosaurs, stegosaurus!
love all the dinobots, but swoop and snarl were my top two favorites as a kid in the 80s! great episode as always!
Been waiting for this one! Snarl is probably among the best examples of a name that can be reapplied to several other wildly different Transformers characters (because so many animals technically can "snarl")!
6:54 wow, the show model made yhis look much cooler than it actually is...
Stega-Snarl is one of my favorites followed by wolf-Snarl.
Thanks for the video 📼, on my birthday 🎂
Snarl was my favorite Dinobot, but I didn't own one until Power of the Primes.
Same here. ✨✅✨
The Transformers: Heavy Metal War Episode
Sludge : Sludge not see these Decepticons before...
Snarl : Not see again either, because we dino-mite them to pieces!!!!
my faveourite character on my birthday thanks Mr. McFeely!
My brother and I made a running gag out of where SNARL was during the '86 movie, with some original art to explain his shenanigans, in the multi-part retrospective we've done over on my channel! I guess his desire not to be featured much in the Movie fits his loner profile to a "T". 😁
I have him in the SS 86's line. And he amazing.
Snarl was one of the Dinobots i could never seem to find in stores. Him and Sludge. Grimlock, Swoop, and Slag were almost always around. They're also the three i had as a kid. Sadly all lost to time.
THE BASICS on SLUDGE next
Planet X also did the G2 colors for their take on him, and in the IDW movie comic he replaced Sludge in the scenes like it was intentional
Of all the dino alt modes, Snarl's Stegosaurus was my favourite. Side note/comic trivia, the stegosaurus's spiked tail was actually, *scientifically* named "The Thagomizer" after a Far Side comic panel by Gary Larson.
I want an Updates Basics on Ultra Magnus
Snarl is great coming in as the second wave during G1, definitely need a "Basics on SWOOP" next!
And Sludge. Finish the base set of Dinobots.
G1 Snarl will always be the original!
...yes, as the first version of the character, he is by definition the original. This fact _can't_ change, so I'm not sure what this comment is supposed to achieve.
.....yes? thats what original means
My last Ben Cooper Halloween costume was Snarl in fifth grade. Always liked him!
Snarl and SLAG are my favourite dinos.
All that’s left is Swoop and Sludge, then all the Dinobots will have officially gotten their own videos!
I was a fan of Wolf Snarl from TF Cybertron. His wise words and not being afraid to beat some sense into Scourge was always cool
My favorite Dinobot on my birthday!!
"Sludge not seen these Decepticons before."
"Not see them again either, because we dynamite them to pieces!"
You literally make my day when a new video drops!!!! On it straight away. Brilliant as always!!!!
I had bit of issue with Snarl due twice missing out his toys; first been in POTP toy that never showed up at my location and while I actually get to see Cyberverse Snarl saved him for another day but someone had picked him already.
To hear that G2 Snarl was gonna be green till switched it's more known deco, that just made me to think was AOE Snarl's deco as subtle homage to that rare green G2 Snarl.
Stegosaurus was my FAVORITE dinosaurs. G1 and Cyberverse Snarl is for my opinion. Luckily bought Age of Extinction Snarl to complete the Main Dinobots, except Slash.
6:32 idk why but looking at this design, it looks like if cybetron leobreaker rotated his limbs and head 180...
Hmm...
My faves of dinobots are Grimlocke and Swoop, Swoop cause they always looked so different then the other dinobots but could easily toss any of them around
9:16 Makes me nostalgic. That used to be one of my favorite figures. Can't believe it was a decade ago that I got it.
Hi Chris, great video about The Transformers The Basics on Snarl, keep them coming, Also, your latest video was outstanding, Also Snarl is not only a member of The Heroic Autobots in the cartoons but also he's a member of The Dinobots in the cartoons, Also Snarl is not only one of my favorite and best Transformer, not only Is Snarl is one of my favorite Autobots of all time, but also Snarl is one of my favorite Dinobots of all time, Also my best and favorite version of Snarl is the Original G1 Cartoon version of Snarl who is a member of both the Heroic Autobots and the Dinobots who also made his first cartoon Appearance in War of The Dinobots(1984), Snarl and Swoop were both bulit and created by Ratchet and WheelJack,Also the following information and Bio are:1.Allegiance:(as of 2024):Autobot, 2.Subgroup(as of 2024): Dinobots,3.Funtcion(as of 2024):Desert Warrior,Transformation(as of 2024): Stegosaurus, Weapons and Abilities(as of 2024): Snarl is already physically very strong He is the fourth strongest Dinobot and he is capable of increasing his strength Capabilities even further, Panels on his back in both modes convert solar power into energy that augments his strength making him ten times more powerful. Also in dinosaur mode. He can even channel his energy through his tail into focused blasts, Even under non-augmented circumstances. his tail can shatter a 20 square foot concrete block with one swipe. Snarl's armor is very dense and angled to be especially effective at deflecting missile fire, In robot mode. he wields an energo blade, missile launcher and long range laser rifle. Also Snarl(G1 Cartoon Version) is also the prehistoric Powerhouse and Desert Warrior and Surly Stegosaurus, Also I've always loved Snarl, he was always one of my favorite Dinobots❤️ Also, It's good to see Snarl getting more screentime as of late, Snarl transforms into the greatest of the dinosaurs, Stegosaurus! Snarl was always my favorite Dinobot since watching reruns of G1 on both Pluto Tv & Tubi, largely because Stegosaurus is my favorite amongst those 5 prehistoric reptiles. The Transformers: Heavy Metal War Episode Sludge: Sludge not see these Decepticons before Snarl: Not see again either, because we dino-mite them to pieces!!! Also 12 minutes of Snarl! One of my all time favorites. This is good work my friend👍 I always figured in the movie, Snarl was already at Autobot City and stayed there with Blaster to continue repairs. Also Good work on the video lore on the Dinobot Snarl, my friend! Like both the Dinobots and Dinosaurs, Snarl too is my favorite both dinobot and dinosaur as well. Also like but also love all the dinobots, but also Snarl and Swoop were my top two favorited as a kid in the 1980's and later as an Adult from the mid 1990's to the mid-2020's! great episode as always! Also i planned to pre-order The Studio Series 86 Snarl from Amazon later this month, Also thank you for sharing Chris keep up the good work stay safe out there have a good night and until next time TILL ALL ARE ONE.🙂💪🦸🇺🇸🟢
I've always had a soft spot for Snarl, since he was one of the few classic G1 toys I had as a child. Was delighted to finally get an updated version with SS86 Snarl. :)
5:50 If this version of the character transforming into a Tasmanian Devil I can imagine he would speak with an Australian accent to match
Snarl was and will always be my favorite Dinobot since I was a kid.
I wonder if Grimlock gets sick of slug and snarl getting on his circuits sometimes, becuz dealing with that type of bot frequently sounds annoying.
Great video on the basics of one of the dinobots, as usual! Now what’s left is the basics of Sludge and Swoop!
my joint favourite dinobot with Sludge
His appearance in TtM was funny because the script explicitly said "four Dinobots", so they chose to leave Snarl out except for those appearances in that one scene. And for those appearances, they removed Swoop to keep the count at four Dinobots.
Snarl was my favorite Dinobot from the Fall of Cybertron game. He was the fastest in PVP.
Snarl's disappearance from the 86 movie would later explained in Prevenge where he and other Transformers were teleported away by the Skuxxoid with a used, home-made dimensional transporter off the internet
I loved how the Dinobots in cyberverse were intelligent in robot mode, and spoke primitive in dino modes.
TBF, Tazmania Kid is a much more fitting name for the troublemaking maximal, gives him his own identity given his huge role in Beast Wars II.
In my childhood, Beast Wars Snarl was the Dinobot Snarl reborn. Grimlock was in Beast Wars, too, and since both of them were the only ones to have Action Masters, I imagined that they were the only Dinobots who survived G1.
The green g2 toy was rare? That's the one I had as a kid and it's the only one I ever seen in stores around me back then. I actually never knew the red one existed
Rare*er*!
I had the red Generation 2 Snarl as a kid. Was my only pre-beast wars Transformers
Hello there Chris McFeely and fellow Transformers fans of this channel. I do apologize for the tardiness of my comment, but when this video dropped, I was busy getting ready for and on my way to work. Anyways, I just wanted to say that this new video was absolutely awesome. The Dinobots were always one of my favorite group of Autobots grew up as a kid and I have to admit that Snarl was absolutely an amazing character, but I never really know that the name of this certain character, besides being used in the Transformers Animated Series was actually used in other Transformers related media. Of course, I have to admit that it is good to see the name put back with this character for some stomping good times.
Anyways, thank you so much for this wonderful video and I hope you and everyone else in this community has a great day and wonderful weekend. Please stay safe, healthy and keep up the fantastic work with these videos, because I am learning a lot about the world of Transformers that I never really knew before. So until the next exciting video and all are one. Peace Out and Maximize.
Repost this Snart immediately!
Snarl did have a brief blink and you'll miss it appearance in Transformers The Movie. Though it's likely an animation error.
I think Snarl is possibly my favorite Dinobot. My favorite dinosaur is the ankylosaurus, and there _is_ an ankylosaurus Dinobot, but he seems pretty obscure and not one of the "main team". Snarl is, and he's the grumpy loner warrior type that I always tend to appreciate. He's like the dwarf of the Dinobots; he doesn't want to get involved in any of the antics, but they're still his team and he's still their guy. I love that dynamic so much!
I’ve always loved snarls robot mode design most of the dinobots. The split tail and spines in gold with the red and black torso
Do THE BASICS on CHASE next!
The first Transformer to use clean energy with solar power. My favourite
Favorite Dinobot, not just because the Stego- is one of my favorite dinosaurs, but also for the fact he doesn't get much love. #rememberSnarl
You got to love cosmic power starscream
Trying to find Snarl's Studio Series figure for retail price is incredibly hard and I hate it 😭
Quantum Teleportation a.k.a. "Cutaway" Teleportation
As seen in the movie, and Snarl didn't know he do it, and can only do it when nobody's noticing him, which is a lot. Snarl can teleport when not being observed, and he teleports to any location his mind has wandered off too. Which implies that Snarl has attention deficit, and is typically not paying attention to what's going on which is why he's always quiet. So even when Snarl is there, he's not "there", and will teleport the moment nobody's looking.
Fortunately, for Snarl, he also has SEVERE, separation anxiety. Which means after exploring the environment he was thinking about, and after his mind wanders again, causing him to teleport a few more times, he wil eventually realize he's alone, Panic, and teleport right next to the other Dinobots as if he never left.
The plates on his back power the teleportation, not just his strength.
The lost adventures the teleporting Snarl.
😄
Tomska: I am a Stegosaurus
Snarl, the "guy" of the Dinobots.
My first ever Transformer, Snarl got me hooked :)
If Simon Furman has Furmanisms, does that make phrases like “taken offline by a cosmically-powered Starscream” and “monster planet Unicron” McFeelyisms?
As a Beast Wars fan and a Tasmanian I'm blown away that there was a Tasmanian Devil Beast Wars figure.
Snarl and Sludge were my first Dinobots (received the same day), and I will always have a soft spot for the guy. 💖 Great video as always, thanks!
Thrust was my very First transformer,a gift from my brother and his fiance, after that i first saved all my weekly money to buy the Dinobots, first Grimlock, the second was Snarl, then Sludge and Slag,i have to wait a lot of years for Swoop, because he was not in the stores in my region.
Please do Tracks and the Technobots/Computron next! 🙏🏻
Chris posts a video, I watch the video. I'm a simple man!
Now only Sludge and Swoop are left.
Chris never fails to cook.
I frickin love stegosaurs! ❤ Snarl's my favoutie Dinobot
9:25 Poor snarl...
I really love the beast wars snarl/Tasmanian kid. It was my favorite figure as a kid and an adult. I could change it so fast!
