The real Winds of Winter are the friends we made along the way.
well considering its soiaf I´d say its the friends we _Lost_ along the way
@groofay Brilliant one! 😂
Just a reminder that Winds of Winter is the 6th book, and that there is AN ENTIRE ANOTHER BOOK LEFT
In the year since he said that 3/4th of the book was done, no progress has been made. So we really don't know if it'll ever come out.
"The publishing industry's equivalent of Half Life 3."
No statement has ever been more true.
Which is weird to say since video games get published as well. Valve is a game publisher as well as developer. So, Half-Life 3 is already the Half-Life 3 of the publishing world.
I was expecting it to end with a joke about now having to wait for A Dream Of Spring.
But def appreciate the Rithmatist reference.
The line about AI authors hurt me in a way I didn’t expect 😂😂
Also, the mental image of a centuries old Sanderson still trolling us with the Rithmatist sequel…
I literally read the rithmatist today. I thought there was a sequel and I'm very sad
I loved rithmatist so much
The saddest part about it is that even if it’s as great as the rest of the series there is no way it will live up to the hype since it will have been just so long
Yeah it will feel like the end of dance of the dragons. The book may be cool and it may set up a lot of new material and a lot of new content to talk about, but at the same time it will feel like something is undone. That's how I felt with all the cliffhanger battles at the end of dance it felt like the curtain closed before the final act.
The saddest part is that even if it's the best book amongst them all AND manages to live up to the hype... THERE WILL STILL BE ANOTHER BOOK LEFT.
on that I disagree, I have a feeling anytime it get released, asoiaf fans around the world will riot and celebrate wildly like if its just published soon enough. we are yearning for it, we are desperate.
@@faisal5367yes, I agree, I will be celebrating sooo much 😅
@@irusia1574 yeah me too, I will be using my money saving to immediately buy WOW even if its harm me, uwooo
I love that you moved to Mars and then to two separate space stations in order to make this video, thank you for your dedication! (but seriously: thank you for your dedication to bringing us the best fantasy book related sketches!)
Also totally agree with the sentiment at the end, at some point it just becomes impossible for a book to be worth the wait.
I took the Christopher Nolan approach for this one and did all the effects practically. Glad someone noticed!
13 years and still he is going to publish it by next year.
I really wanna reread the first 5 books but I promised myself I wouldn't read them again until tWoW had an official release date. That way i could be fresh on the story for book 6. It's been like 4 years since I made that self promise...
I'm not gonna read winds of winter (if it ever is released) until either GRR dies or the final book in the series is released. Which is to say, I'm going to wait til he dies before reading it. I give it 10 more years, in the meanwhile I'll just read stephen king or something.
@@athiefinthenight6894 Read Steven Erikson's Malaza book of the fallen Series
This is the highest form of art I’ve ever encountered.
Great timing with the Sanderson shout out, as I was just thinking that by this point, Sanderson would have completed a few dozen epic fantasy series.
Watch it be 90% the same as season 6, that would be the best troll
Came here looking for something about George's update.
Sorry, lol.
@@genericallyentertainingThat George is annoing.
I too have given up on The Winds of Winter.
I gave up on winds of Winter before I read game of thrones.
Then again, I'm not a fan of nihilist McLotsOfRape storytelling.
@@hariman7727 All edge, no point?
@@fluffynator6222 pretty much.
GRRM wrote an anti Tolkien epic Fantasy that he turned into an epic Fantasy because he wrote a story in that genre.
So he either upholds the genre and goes against his principles and his original goals, or he subverts the genre and he makes pretty much the same thing happens that happened with the series.
why does this channel only have 2k subs deserves much more
A year on it has 44.5k!
This is some pure gold here
funny how you latched on to everyone's ridiculous idea of robots being the boston dynamics ones lol
The ending made me sad. WHY DID THE ENDING MAKE ME SAD!?
no cap, I looked at your video, saw a book cover and thought it was released
ehh I hope my children will continue the legacy when I die
ok that’s too high, maybe grandchildren
This is way funnier than it has a right to be. Also accurate and scary
Bro these are fucking hilarious 😂
Keep it up.
Been reading those books since I was 14. I'm 37 years old now ; - /
Literally me with Wise Mans Fear.
Maybe he has the whole thing wrapped up and he is just trolling everyone and it will be released upon his death.
Another brilliant skit XD
The thing I'm taking away is.. I should read the Rithmatist?
yesss read it, don’t expect the sequel tho
Yes, despite the look of a sequel it's fairly good as a standalone.
Gosh, what gets me is the end line. . .because that is what is going to happen. There's what, two more books after Winds of Winter? One? Meaning its likely getting into 'finale set-up territory' There were sections in Dance that felt woefully uncomplete and left hanging in ways that were unnecessary. It's been forever though since I've read it and I kinda don't care to go out and get the books I don't already own.
I stopped reading the series after the fourth book when I heard it's not yet finished. I'll get back to it when the whole series is completed.
The ending is the part I'm most scared of ... it feels like a canon event.
My opinion is that as long as its good, im willing to wait
Press F for Steve
At the pace George is going...those AI generated The Winds of Winter are probably the only real "closure" we get. Hell, we might even get AI A Dream of Spring as well.
The boston dynamics wars
I just want to know what happened at the battle of Winterfel ffs
Really love this one!❤
Rithmatist 2 when
That is indeed the question.
I'm just happy that he's announced Elantris 2, which everyone's been waiting for a very long time.
So there's hope for rithmatist 2.
yeah. years and years of waiting. just like waiting for j.v.j. to get endlords out there. i'll definitely have to take a vacation to read those once they are published... if i live that long. guess i'll have to wait and see^^
HAHAHAHAHA! Not my fandom, but I do feel sorry for the fans! That would drive me insane!
It drove me insane thats certain
I thought people called ADWD A Dance "of" Dragons by accident, but never thought someone would actually write that title on accident too.
This very situation is why I don't want anything to do with series that are not complete! Honestly, that extends to TV series as well. The only current thing I'm watching is Blue Bloods, and that's because I've already been invested for years. But I'm not getting hooked on something new and then they cancel it on me. I'm looking at YOU, "V" remake from 2009, "Terra Nova", and "Almost Human"! Yes, I'm still bitter!
I had to stop and check if Boston Dynamics was a real thing, given that Massive Dynamic and Global Dynamics are both sci-fi companies...
...oh, and Massive Dynamic is supposedly in Boston. My brain hurts!
update, its been 13 years, and winds of winter still hasnt been released
Repost this vid but with 'the Doors of Stone' and Pat Rothfus dubbed in for sticks and giggles
that was really well done.
This makes me so happy I didn't read the Rithmatist. I hear its amazing, but still.
That rithmatist 2 hurts
He's taking the piss now!!
😂 Rithmatist 2
So what you're trying to say is that writing the book is taking him a while
How to I explain this to the ASOIAF fans.......that book is going to be bad, you do realize that, right? A good book is like a fart, if you have to force it, it's probably shit.
I saw a video essay on how grrm can't and the series in under three books, and he can't end it well because every bit of his writing previously played into the very fantasy tropes that he hates.
So grrm must either make Jon Snow the fantasy hero everyone expects him to be, or he must duplicate the show's ending of a great twist and things not working out.
So he either betrays his original vision to make a good story, or completely destroys the fandom of game of thrones, permanently.
Unfortunate but true
@@hariman7727 wise essay! Still remember the essayist ?
HALF LIFE REFERENCE
what about dream of spring?
❤❤❤❤
Why would he release a book that is going to sink his career permanently, because it's never going to satisfy everyone and the setup he built means that he must either torpedo the entire story by having everything end like the TV series, or he must give in to the Tolkien style fantasy story and have Jon Snow be the hero?
Also I think he's lazy.
George R.R. Martin already got his fame and money from the TV adaptation. There's no point in actually finishing the story.
I dunno why some people are still high on copium. Winds of winter won't even be the last book so the series will never be finished, its an abandoned story.
It is the equivalent of Hunter x Hunter but for the broader literary world
😂😂😂
We're never going to see the book, it's been a long long lie 😣
