Happy holidays if you celebrate them! Happy Sunday if you don't! I'm still getting over being sick... went from the flu to losing my voice so it's been fun. Wanted to go over a few quick things with you all since I've been trying to keep up with comments but I may have missed some. YES I know I should have bought a Toyota in the first place... I would have if the Corolla Cross came with a cloth interior, remote start, and heated seats. It does NOT come that way at all whatsoever, which is why I did not buy one. YES I know lemon law is a thing and I fought with GM to get them to take the car back... they told me no. YES I replaced the car with a 2024 Hyundai Kona. YES this video is me rambling and being angry... if you don't like it I'm sorry but there's plenty of other things to watch and if you DO like it and it helped you, then I did my job and helped you not make a mistake since almost every video about these things is reviewers loving it. I look forward to not being sick as a dog and able to make a video about the Kona. I'd also love to tell you guys the story about my 2007 Dodge Caliber I bought new when I worked at the plant back in 2006... that thing made the Trax look good haha. Take care, FOLKS.
wow that sound bad i hate to make you feel worse about it but i have an 82 F150 with an inline 6 is going on 750k miles and sounds better than that thing you got it sounds like you are 50-1000 miles from catastrophic valve train failure im happy for you that it got sorted i hope it was not too unfavorable for your trade in
Just my 2 cents, if you are looking for a trouble free new car experience, always avoid the first model year of a new vehicle, or the first year of a major redesign. Let other people deal with all the warranty fixes and for the manufacturer to make new revisions on the parts. Even with Toyota and Honda their first year of new models are a mess sometimes. With Chinese/korean market cars like this Trax, maybe give it 2 or 3 years…
It will be re-designed in 2-3yrs, then you will have to start over again. Eliminate all this hassle by getting a FIAT 500! I LOVE mine, totally TROUBLE FREE! Happy motoring!!
Fiat 500x was the only vehicle I ever had to have Lemon Law buyback. But I actually loved the silly little thing (the small SUV one)..... OP for future reference I dealt with lemon law attorneys out of I think Michigan, and had to pay them nothing- they get compensated by the MFR as part of the process. They did a great job for me. @@TheOzthewiz
I feel for you brother but I’ve been driving GM/GMC vehicles for the past 40 years & every single one has been BULLETPROOF why would I ever switch brands the 2027 Traxs is definitely on the top of my list to replace my 2007 commuter!!!
I leased a 24 LS Trax a few months as it has been great! I got it from a trusted dealer to whom I have been dealing with for over 25 years, never got a bad car from a Malibu, to a Monte Carlo, to 2 Sparks and now a Trax of which I still own those cars and never had any problems - I have a 1990 Caprice which after 33 years is as reliable if it were new...I am sorry that you are experiencing these problems. My advice is take it to a reputable independent Chevy dealer who has been around and have them repair it. My wife puts close to 225 miles per week on this 24 Trax as it has been great...do not let one person's "bad" experience ruin what has been wonderful experience for those who have not had any problems with it.
It's been to three dealers to figure out why it's doing what it does. Plus it's not just me, there's a lot of people having issues with them. I hope GM figures it out!
Hey I am sorry for what you are going through if your dealership has any true concern then I would offer you another vehicle....not to jinx myself my Trax has been nothing but a pleasure...I will follow up again with you & wish you much luck on whatever happens!
@aenoymotors Sound like you purchased a defective product, which all automakers experience at least 1 out the bunch but it doesn't effect the entire line. I would blame chevy customer service rather than the car model itself..
I disagree with you I deliberately bought this car cause I drive a lot every day as a sales rep for work going on 4 months turn 15,000 miles not a single problem its the RS model loaded with sunroof, etc. great mileage. Everything works perfectly For the value it’s best out there .
not sure about that. It has a turbo that is driven by the exhaust, and this puts additional heat under the hood. Combine that extra heat with plastic cooling system components and those parts will deteriate all that much faster so they become brittle and crack causing a cooling system leak leaving you along the side of the road with an overheated engine. Ask me how I know? Happened to both our Chevrolet Sonic and Chevrolet Cruze. Both with turbo charged Ecotech engines.
Sorry you had a bad experience! I got my Encore GX brand new when they first came out, and have enjoyed 45k trouble-free miles. These Korean compacts from GM generally get good reviews. Must be a few bugs since the Trax is just redesigned. Did you get the 2024 Kona?
@@aenoymotors Hope you continue to enjoy it! I stopped by the dealer to check out an N-line, and think I'm going to keep my GX until it dies. (and continue to enjoy my no car payments!) LOL.
Its first generation was designed by GM South Korea. They've been selling this globally in more than a half dozen other countries for a decade. This is the second generation, with another version released as the Encore by Buick.
Sorry to hear that your brand new Trax is giving you so much trouble and the dealer can't fix any of the problems. I totally understand your frustration. Salesman promises everything, even make you feel like you're apart of their family when they're selling to you. And don't know you anymore the minute after you give them your money.
True, Got your money and done with you. Hope not to see you again unless you want to spend more money. The exception is when you have many acquaintances or friends or it's a family business then you get treated better. If people only spend a few hours or days researching the vehicle they intend to buy would resolve many issues of not getting a lousy vehicle. The Trax is a very cheap small SUV with a 3-cylinder or golf cart engine. What do you expect from the cheapest of the cheap Crossover, Mini, or compact SUV lineup? Sorry, must do your homework. Hopefully, the guy will feel better soon.
@@richscott2483 It's not even an SUV. Check out how low it sits to the ground. Folks call it a Crossover.... Honestly it's a Wagon with a short cargo area. But that's a 4-letter word in the car industry.
It's crazy now how many journalists are saying how great the Trax is. Maybe GM paid them all off, I don't know. They must have if anyone said nice things about the Cobalt...
The automotive journalists reviews that I saw all raved about it, all except for one-- that said that everything on paper looked great esp for the price, but in theory it left some things to be desired.
@@aenoymotors It's called "Payola" in the car journalism business, and yes, the mfrs have been bribing the journalists like this for many many decades now, all the way back to the 1950s!
Three of the four window motors are intermittently bad, the a/c compressor itself is bad, the antenna is bad, etc. Parts are on backorder with no date in sight.
All of the reviews were made by shills. While my channel doesn't deal with cars, I specifically created it because I was disgusted with all the shills giving positive reviews to garbage products! As for the Trax, thank you! I was seriously considering buying one before I saw your honest review. Obviously, not anymore! Dad used to have a 1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that he bought in 1982 from a lawyer acquaintance of his who simply had to drive a new car every year. (This was back before Leasing existed.) Dad got a sweet deal on her. She was a bullet-proof, reliable tank of a car. Dad kept her for 17 years.... Which admittedly was too long. But he barely did anything in terms of maintenance. Honestly, he'd be rolling over in his grave if he saw what GM has turned into.
I'll have to check out some of your work. Thanks for the positive comment. That old Cutty would probably still be on the road when the Trax dies if you can keep the rust off of it!
GM has been building their own coffin for a long, long time and they deserve nothing less. They’ve been in business for over 100 years and they still can’t build a half decent car.
@@domjfante8140 they should have been left to go bankrupt in 2008 but the usa military wants these creepy car companies around to make military vehicles that are incinerated in ukraine. they are producing trash that ends up in landfills.
Im sorry you’re having a bad experience but, You shouldn’t have to change the timing chain at all if you do your oil changes on time or earlier (timing belt on the other hand is different obviously) that’s how my 2012 Chevy Traverse has 256,000 miles on the original chains on it I’m the second owner and had it since 123,000 miles and previous owners service records were in the glovebox showing all maintenance to prove it’s the original
HOW DOES IT RUN? Coolant leaking problems. Oil ring problems. Electronic problems with the radio in hot weather; the radio just keeps changing stations all by itself. Body roll because of a poorly engineered suspension. What was GM thinking?
I’ve had two Chevy Sparks and they treated me very well for what was the cheapest cars made at the time. I was considering a new Trax but now I’ll have to do more research.
My infotainment and cluster goes blank and the windows stopped working randomly same problems here every the gear selector light turns off randomly and the apple car play is sluggish and confusing when driving makes you take a turn after passing over the street.
Sorry to see you’ve had so many issues with your Trax. My nephew’s 1LT has been great for him. Seems you got a bad one and I’m disappointed with your dealership experience. My dealership has been very good fixing the 2 minor issues I’ve had with my 2019 (year 1) Blazer. Good luck with the Kona. I hope it treats you well but fair warning… my neighbor works for a dealership that sells Kia/Hyundai. I mentioned I was looking at getting a car and he told me not to get a Kia/Hyundai and proceeded to tell me a few nightmare stories about engines failing and parts availability. He said they had at least 30 cars on their lot waiting for new engines. Some had been there for months. Obviously it’s not all of them and I hope your Kona is a good one and it gives you many happy miles.
The Hyundai 2.4L is absolutely terrible and the most common one with issues. I stayed far away from that engine. I hope your nephew's Trax works out well for him.
My friend's nephew had a new engine put in his 2018 Soul. You what he did after getting the car back? A few weeks later he traded it in for a 2024 Toyota Cross. He did not want to wait around for another engine blow out. Smart move.
Sorry to hear of your terrible experience with your new Trax. I have one and it’s been great so far (8,000 miles). It’s only been back to the dealer once for a software update to correct a false TPMS malfunction message. It’s unacceptable that GM can’t supply your dealership the needed parts to fix your Trax in a reasonable amount of time. Parts exist because they’re still coming off the assembly lines. There’s no excuse why some parts cannot be sent to the USA to support dealers and their customers. If mine ever needs a part under warranty I hope it’s not on back order with no ETA. Best of luck with your new Kona. I think there’re a good choice. A non turbo MPI engine sounds like a recipe for reliability and longevity,
Thanks! I hope your Trax behaves. Make sure to check the windows to see if you have defective window motors. Seems to be a common issue on the Trax board.
does your state have a lemon law? because that's definitely what happened. You just had the bad luck to get the one bad apple of the bunch. my 2025 Trax has right at 1500 miles too, and I haven't had even the smallest issue from day one.
@@aenoymotors oh man. That's rough. I'm sorry to hear that. They're much more in depth down here in the south. Out of curiosity, did you ever come to a resolution of some sort?
@@aenoymotors I've heard good things about those. I wish you the best of luck with it! And hope for the same with my trax I took 2 flights to go buy haha
Big reason I didn't bother after I yelled at them for a while and they told me no. Figured it wasn't worth the hassle and I'll just never buy something from GM again after this.
I've been thinking of a new vehicle...I narrowed it down between the new Trax and a new Jetta (6-speed). Your video is the exact reason I keep shying away from the Trax. I like the looks of it, the interior, and of course NO CVT...(a manual would have been a great choice for a base model, and would have probably pushed 40MPG). I even get a supplier discount on these, and I'm still leaning towards something else. There is NO reason for a brand new vehicle with less than 30K miles to have these issues, much less at less than 2k! I bought a brand new Focus back in '07, and I beat the shit out of that 5-speed, and that's the only major issue I ever had when the trans went out at 130K...it was all of $2,000 to replace, and she made it to 198K miles until I made the mistake of scrapping her due to rust issues. Never leaked or burned any oil, and I was still only on my second set of brakes (90% highway miles). I replaced the power steering pump after driving it for 2 years after it went out. Oh, and the AC was dead at 150K. That car was SO good to me, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who had horrible experiences with them like you with your Trax...but I paid $14K for my Focus, and got lucky. Do I want to gamble with over $20K on a new Trax, and hope that the UAW workers actually felt like working when they put it together? I know it's assembled in South Korea, so that might be a moot point since maybe the actually give half a shit about work ethic...meh, I'm done ranting. It would just be nice to be able to put faith in buying a brand new car that isn't going to be a complete headache before 100K miles.
If you join the Trax group on Facebook there are so many more people with zany issues with no resolve. Once they figure out how to get things fixed and stuff it would be a great economical vehicle but until then I'd avoid it.
@@aenoymotors Well, I went against my better judgement and bought a base Trax LT with no options. It's still the best optioned vehicle I've ever owned haha. I got it with 12 miles, and I'm about to hit 900 with no problems...not that there SHOULD be, but I've also read the negative reviews, so I'm cautiously optimistic. A lot of people seem worried about the lack of power, but it's more than adequate even when merging onto the interstate via a short ramp. I think people are spoiled by 300HP turbo 4-bangers...the 1.2liter is fine, but we'll see how long it lasts, even with me babying it. None of the complaints I've read numerous times have applied...the trans does seem a little confused at times and kicks down to accelerate inappropriately, and I did notice on my drive home this morning after encountering a dead skunk, that if I put just the back windows down, the headliner (or something) acts like a massive subwoofer that vibrates enough to rattle the door panels and make me sound as though I'm speaking into a fan. It's mildly amusing. I'm on my 4th tank of gas. My first tank that I filled got me 30MPG, and the last one I was at 28. It's been 80% interstate, and I didn't go over 65 on the first, and the last one I'd set the cruise at 70. I'm not going by the vehicle information either...that says 28.5 MPG, but also claims a 30MPH average speed, when I'm doing 60 miles a day on the interstate at 65+. So far so good though, and NO digital gauge cluster!
I just got a white LS and have problem with its AC. I hear cliching sound inside the hood every 10 seconds (like something turning on and off). Then I figure out the clutch of the AC kept turning on and off. Dealer say it is normal but I still feel sad about it. I don't now if this happens on every trax
@@aenoymotors Thanks for your reply! Anyway, I have it returned and consider buying another trax. So your trax also have that loud engaging sound like every 10 seconds? But I didn't hear that on your video. I linked the video I recorded. drive.google.com/file/d/15IgsTa9A5SKL3TzPxMwFTaKR2mTsUdrg/view?usp=sharing
My a/c compressor died completely. If you were able to get out of it, don't buy another one. That's the best advice I can give you. The Trax group on Facebook is just showing so so many issues it's crazy
If things are randomly working/not working then you have an electrical short somewhere . It's under warranty. Bring it back to the dealer and get it fixed . Most ppl aren't having these problems. Hope you got it fixed by the time you read this 👍
@@aenoymotors did they give you a loaner car? Check if there's a Lemon Law in your state. I had the same problem with a car . You have to submit all your receipts to the lawyer and you can use them . I settled out of court for $6500 and bought another car. Good luck
I grew up in a GM world, with my dad buying either Pontiac, GMC, or Chevy vehicles. So many headaches over the years! When I started driving, shockingly , there were no problems out of the 1996 and 2002 Grand Am! But when I got the 2005 Pontiac G6, nothing but problems! The car literally shut off while parking on a busy street. The dealer said the computer rebooted. What if that happened while I was on an expressway? 😮 Later my parents parents got a GMC Envoy and an Acadia which were mostly trouble free. The Acadia did have a couple recalls but it drove so clumsy. My mom now has a 2012 Buick Enclave and it, knock on wood, drives very well! I stepped away from GM and will never look back!
The Grand Am was such a great car despite all the shit people gave it. Bought mine when it was 10 years old and drove it for 7 years. Barely any issues apart from it rusting out over time.
Software glitches with the reverse camera and tpms randomly freaking out, a/c compressor blew up, windows randomly not working, and the remote start not working right. I think that's everything... it's been a few months since it's been gone now.
I own one. It has bugs, but you got the warranty, Its a new car and new gen and its not uncommon for shit to happen. I completely understand your frustration though. Dont give up on it yet. I hope shit gets resolved. I have had mine 2 months and just a couple minor issues. The lemon law might be an option in your case.
Already gone. I traded it in for a Kona. It's had issues since day one and after four months of "We don't know" and me trying to get them to buy it back and being denied I gave up.
I know you just wanted to wash your hands, but the fact is it was under warranty and it is their job to fix it. I would have consulted with a lawyer, b but i do 100% understand where you were coming from. Hope the Kona treats you better.@@aenoymotors
There are nationwide shortages on a lot of cars. My car sat at the dealership for 4 months waiting for a new wheel assembly that went bad and it was under warranty yet but there were shortages and recalls so it just took forever to get back. It sucked.
Dude you cracked me up, sorry. Yeah not sure about these, I am a huge Chevy guy but for the Tahoe/Suburban line, I have a 2004 Tahoe with 162,000 Miles and very few issues.
So I had a 2009 Trailblazer a year or two ago that had almost 200K on it. Was a great truck even though the Internet will want to burn you at the stake for thinking such a thing. Guessing your Tahoe has a V8?
@@aenoymotors Yes Sir. The 5.3 V8 Vortec. Bullet Proof man. I babied the hell out of her, but very few problems. Most reliable car i have ever owned. Im sorry about your Trax.
I wonder if that's one of ones that was made just a bit north of me in Janesville, Wisconsin. There's a museum up there with a big exhibit about GM in Janesville I want to go to here, soon. From what I've seen the stuff that was made up there had a bit more care than your typical GM unit.

Every Tahoe has a V8. My 06 Z71 is the greatest truck ever but if u wanted a 3 cyl willingly u might not like the MPG but it will NOT fail you@@aenoymotors
I will pay any of you to respond if you found a solution to the windows not going up or down for me it's just the back ones works most of the time occasionally does not also if anybody has had any issues with the newer noise cancellation system causing a debilitating low tone
The window motors need to be replaced with new ones and it should work. There's an update for the ANC but the dealer should be able to also just turn it off.
I got the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage, I've very happy with it. I'm sad to see the Trax is having so many isssues! I thought they would be decent cars. Didn't do much research on them though. But looked deeply into the Mirage. 6,500 Miles on it so far, 0 issues to speak of. The oil filter is in an odd place, but that's fine.
That is great to hear! I'd like to check out an SE (fully loaded), but in over 1 year I've not seen one for sale here. Just the base model, or the LE. How many miles have you put on your Mirage?@@aenoymotors
My parents still have one of the 15's I've had. I think it has almost 90,000 miles on it now and it's been pretty good. I had to have a parking brake cable replaced and the rear spoiler repainted under warranty but that's it. I've had a few that were rescue missions that have had various issues that I've brought back from the dead (abused horribly by previous owners) and as far as I'm aware all those cars are still out there doing what they do.
That is awesome to hear! I never heard of a parking brake cable failing, till recently. Someone I know with a 2008 Chevy Silverado who uses the parking brake a lot had it break. Maybe the 2024 Mirage will break too? We will see! It's kind of funny, almost everyone hates on the Mirage, and it's a reliable car. Then the Chevy people like, maybe due to the extra power, but it barely is able to last 2,000 miles. I feel like your Chevy is defective, it shouldn't be breaking so easy.. I guess quality control isn't really a thing. @@aenoymotors
Japanese cars are generally a better buy. I would love to buy an american car but I can't bring myself to spend money on a vehicle brand that has a well-documented history of problems.
Well, in the ~1500 miles I did nothing went wrong with the engine... yet. Another person on the Trax board I was on had their engine explode though and replaced.
Not sure what happened with yours, that is unfortunate... i just got one a month ago and im just over 1500 miles. never had a single issue with the car. My only 2 gripes with the car are the tiny gas tank and the sound system sounds kinda bad. Going to be replacing the speakers here in the next few months and maybe fixing at least one of the issues. Hopefully by now youve gotten the issues addressed and are enjoying the car. best of luck man.
Having shopped on Copart for half a year and seeing what turns up got to say those wet timing belts are time bombs as they like to snap around the 100k mark sometimes a lot less. Basically all the teeth come off the belt clogging the uptake for the oil pump while the engine goes out of time causing other issues. As for conventional CVT well most of us know that once the belt starts to slip it is out its way out though regular fluid changes helps.
Lol. Should've paid the premium and just got a Corolla Cross or H-RV. Used RAV4/H-RV/C-RV would've been good options too. At least they would've worked just fine with little hassle and lasted a lot longer (certainly more that 1k miles XD). I'd even get a Kona over a Trax because at least the warranty is probably better.
No offense but this isn't at all surprising. Chevy Trax was never a good car and GM isn't exactly known for quality. Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-30, Toyota Venza, Subaru Crosstrek/Outback all would have been better choices than this. I can't figure out why anyone would buy a Chevy when there are several other brands to choose from with proven better quality and reliability.
The newer Chevy's are kind of better looking than most of the ones you named (except maybe the Mazda), and the low price of these is likely why they're selling so well right now on top of having the nice styling, so it's not hard to figure out why some people are gambling on these.
You'd never get 10 years out of a 1.2L 3 cylinder turbo. You'd be lucky to get 50,000 miles. I don't understand how GM is still in business. Don't walk away from the car, run...and don't buy another GM car. I know they are more expensive but if you want 10, trouble-free years out of a car, buy a Toyota. Even a used one with a but of mileage would be better than any brand new GM. Good luck man...that is disappointing but sometimes you gotta take a loss and just move on
why are you talking about the timing belt when you have an AC issue. sounds like you bought the car then went online and found a bunch of issues and now have some webmd hypochondriac issues and just expecting everything to break.
I just got a 2024 Trax 3 weeks ago. I had to get a wheel alignment after I hit a deep pothole. I took it to the dealer to have it done. I didn’t have to pay for it. I’m taking it on a road trip in about 12 days. I’m looking forward to it.
What a terrible experience for a new car, have you been able to get it fixed? Don’t stop pestering the dealer, or take it to another dealer within you state? Wishing all the best
I guess you didn't get the memo never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never buy a Chevy!!! Sorry that's all I can come up with!!
I had a series of Fords that were pure junk from start to finish. I switched to Chevy and I’ve been very happy. It’s a matter of opinion. Also do you test drive your potential new cars and do research????
I did a lot of research on the Trax before buying one. Sadly, all the reviews of the thing said it's the best thing ever and it definitely was not. I also drove three different ones (they were all "pre-sold" so I didn't buy one of those) before getting this one.
Man, I wish the trax wasn't this bad. I swear to god, I have the 2024 Trax 1RS and holy shit, I've never expected to have this many problems WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Everything else is fine but the two main compoments, the radio and the dash. Radio blacks out, fixed by the dealer shortly after, now radio's wireless carplay is jacked. Dash, it has no idea what the hell it's doing so it constantly puts the stick on the RPM to like high as hell, while the engine is in idle. The RPM would think it's at 3-4, but this has been fixed by the dealer with a software update to the vehicle. Back to the radio, the dealer keeps blaming OnStar for the issues the radio has been having, OnStar is blaming the Dealer back so the two have been fighting for a bit now. The Dealer just gave up today and decided to finally replace the radio AGAIN, Lemon Law in my area doesn't apply until the issue has shown up 3 times. God I love Ohio.
Holy crap dude that's terrible! Have you had issues with the windows not working as well? Illinois is FOUR times for the same issue (in the first year!) so at least you're one less than that!
@@aenoymotors My windows haven't crapped themselves surprisenly, I am worried about one thing though. The Engine, there has been reports of failing engines in a single year, which is a big concern. 😬
Just got the car back from the dealer, GM has notified me that the Trax that I have is having a common issue with the radios. So they're issuing another recall sometime this year for that issue to replace the radio/communication module. It's a f***ing 2020 radio, what do you mean it's bugging out?@@aenoymotors
I love my 2024 1RS Fountain Blue Trax! The only thing I miss is the push button start! Not used to using my key to start my car. It is well worth the $ and the ride is awesome!!!
The windows issue must have been a bad batch of motors. Seeing a lot of those issues but also a lot of people without them. I expected most of the software issues tho thus why i got a extended warranty. Would have rather gotten at mazda but they are becoming way to expensive and i got a hefty discount through gm.
My son and I both bought one this year. Omg I’ll have to make a channel on all the problems. It’s just a few months old and he gets a light and message on his dash that says dangerous oil pressure turn off vehicle immediately! It had no oil in it! The dealer is closed until Tuesday so we put 5 litres in and drove it home. Just today, a new light came on in mine. I’ve also already had 4 recalls. The windows stopped working almost immediately. The speakers are blasting out some weird base sound so we can’t listen. Much more… it’ll be a beater in no time.
You got a 2011 Toyota with almost 400,000 miles on it. I understand your frustration but why in the world would you buy a Chevy? American car companies are trying to match the British for unreliability and all around junk. I would quickly visit my nearest Toyota dealer and unload that pile of stress.
I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your Trax. It sounds like you may have gotten a lemon? I have a 24 Trax Activ that I bought and traded my 22 Honda Civic Sport in for it. I was SUPER unhappy with my civic and have never owned a Chevy. I can say, I am SO happy with my Trax. The only downfall, which is no fault of the make, is that I had a rock hit my windshield on the freeway only 6 weeks after purchase, and 4 months later, I still have a broken windshield. To make my matters worse, 2 weeks after the windshield cracked, I had a huge piece of plywood fly off someone's truck and into my front bumper, causing damage estimated at $2k. Of course, parts are not available, so I sit here and wait. At least I know, one day it will be fixed and two insurance claims later.....
I am sorry about this situation. Thanks for pointing out some weak points. I have a different opinion about this vehicle, since I have it too, but hope the next car will work out better for you.
I have a paid off 23 equinox with the 1.5L. 20k miles on it. Soooo far, nothing to complain about. When I heard about the changes in the Trax, it’s truly amazing how they released this thing. I’m very sorry you’ve had these issues. I’m a GM lifer. Maybe not much longer. Best of luck.
Glad your Equinox has been good to you. I had a 2019 service loaner when my Bolt was getting some work done. It seemed peppy enough with that 1.5 turbo.
I have the 24 trax 2RS same color scheme with a sunroof . I absolutely love it and thankfully none of those issues. My climate control panel is different and my gauges are different. I ordered mine prior to release and got it right off the truck at the dealership.
How long do you think a 3 cylinder turbo engine made in korea will last before it begins to burn oil and worse?? Not to mention the nightmare of having to replace a wet timing belt. I can't think of a single American made/designed car i would BUY. Leasing this mechanical horror is the only way to go. Let the inevitable problems be GM's responsibility
Well, the company who makes the wet belt system (Continental) says it's good for 150,000 miles. We'll have to see! I agree on the leasing thing... use for a few years and give back is probably the winning choice.
when I see the window lock button pushed the windows don't work. One bad part is not a bad car... otherwise Honda would be crap with recalls. Take it to the dealer before you post a video showing how dun you are
The window lock button does not affect the windows on this. It just turns off the rear window switches. Maybe you should figure out how the car works and learn how to spell before you show how DUMB you are.
Keep building your cars in mexico GM, Ford and Chrysler for cheap labor reasons. If you want to enjoy a vehicle for 10 years get a honda or a toyota. At least they still build their powertrains in Japan.
Funny. I have over 25k on mine now. Not even one problem. You just have bad luck. And why don’t yiu take it in for warranty work? You know. Since you had less than 2k miles on it? Sounds more like user error to me.
It went in to be fixed probably a dozen times. The answer was always "No parts available. Not sure when they'll be in. Sorry!" That got old pretty quick.
@@aenoymotorsit was like that for all models for a long time due to strikes and import issues. Again, you got unlucky as hell and honestly should have taken it back and exercised the Lemon Law and either had it replaced or refunded. I have 6 friends with ‘24 Traxes and not one of us has had a single issue. It really is a great car. Also I notice you got either a 1RS or an LT. should have spring for the 2RS or Activ. You have/multiple options available to you to make the issue right. User error.
Oh yeah I tried like hell to get them to buy it back or swap me a different one but they just refused. Lemon law in Illinois is a pain in the ass. Technically the car did run so they just kept pushing it back on me even though things didn't work right so it wasn't sitting at a dealership so it wasn't "broken." Total hassle. Also, i wanted the 1RS because it was a more simple unit and had cloth seats which are more forgiving of dog paws than the vinyl/evotex stuff.
Three years ago, I bought a 2016 Chevy Equinox which I thought was a good car at the time. Over the time I've had it, I began to hate it. The engine was underpowered for a car its size and the transmission shifted hard. The heated seats were great... until they stopped working. The heated seats I heard were a problem with the Equinox. I was going to have them looked at when I had planned on a service date to have a few other things done until I crashed it. After having two mediocre vehicles, I said goodbye to Chevy and GM. I wanted a car with performance and comfort, so I ended up buying a Toyota Camry. It quickly became one of the best cars I've owned because it drives very well and has plenty of performance under the hood. I don't think I'll ever go back to GM.
My experience has been quite the opposite, I’ve had mine 15,000 miles and not many issues, although I had the same issues with the infotainment system when I used an Android system, but when I moved to Apple I never had an issue.
My niece and her husband bought a brand new Trax , put 40,000 miles on it but now it has a major engine failure and has to be replaced. The engine is a low powered 3 cyl. and I believe just a 1.2 L
Man got a 20024 trax not even a year old yet and it needs an alternate and battery which Chevy is fixing but taking months due to parts being on back end. At this point I want to get my money back or get a new car smh
I’m a GM master tech and all these issues have been fixed with software updates or revised replacement parts. Find a good dealer and get it fixed, it will be fine for years after that. It’s a first year of a brand new model. This is fairly par for the course, but the important thing is GM actually corrects things.
That may be the case but I got tired of the runaround so I found something else. Hopefully the fixes will do some good for other people who have them still!
U wrote about belvidere and my wifes jeep compass has ran great after 105k miles but we did have to replace a wiring harness because of corrosion ....located inside front left fender, i had mechanic tape over relay box where the corrosion occured. My 2022 1.5 malibu has been great
why buy GM? why buy a new car? what were you thinking? I still can't believe anyone buys anything other than Toyota, Mazda or Honda? Timing belt?? in oil? oy! Not picking on you, but you can't let design and driveability rule your choices. Cars are way to expensive to purchase poor quality products. Get rid of it, take the loss, and go get a Corolla. Just my 2 cents, if you are looking for a trouble free new car experience, always avoid the first model year of a new vehicle, or the first year of a major redesign. Let other people deal with all the warranty fixes and for the manufacturer to make new revisions on the parts. Even with Toyota and Honda their first year of new models are a mess sometimes. not sure about that. It has a turbo that is driven by the exhaust, and this puts additional heat under the hood.

Did not qualify as a lemon, sadly. Had to be the same issue four times. I traded it in for a Hyundai Kona which, so far, has been perfect.

Well, I went against my better judgement and bought a base Trax LT with no options.
Illinois lemon law is weak. No loaner car because it still technically drove.

I traded it in for a Kona and the dealer's sister store ended up selling it to some lady. I see it around town from time to time.

A 3cyl turbo from GM , what could possibly go wrong 😂
If you upgrade the speakers make sure to have the ANC disabled!
I heard the Ford Ecoboost engine with the wet timing belt setup is really bad for failure.

I can't figure out why anyone would buy a Chevy when there are several other brands to choose from with proven better quality and reliability.
All the reviews of the car were very, very positive which is why I decided to buy one.
The RPM would think it's at 3-4, but this has been fixed by the dealer with a software update to the vehicle. Back to the radio, the dealer keeps blaming OnStar for the issues the radio has been having, OnStar is blaming the Dealer back so the two have been fighting for a bit now.
