Welcome to what was supposed to be a car dealer that I wanted to open many years ago but never did thanks to the crazy amount of fees and ridiculousness that's involved (especially in Illinois... lots of fees)! Instead, I bring to you various videos and projects that are usually automotive related in some way. Unlike the bizarre Kansas RUclipsr conglomerate of people (seriously, how is there so many automotive RUclipsrs in Kansas of all places?) the focus here is mostly on the 1980's and early 1990's Chrysler front wheel drive vehicles that I've adored since I was a small kid and then whatever other things I'm driving or working on at the time. If I figure out something cool or neat that can be done to whatever it is I own at the time, I'll share it here so other's can benefit from the things I've learned over the years. Sometimes I'll have other random stuff, too. But thanks for checking us out!
Mitsubishi Mirage and You! Front Brake Replacement with an Upgrade for 14-15 Mirages!
So my lovely pink/purple Mirage has warped rotors which makes it annoying to stop. However, there's a fix for this issue... caliper brackets and the larger rotors to go with them from a 2017+ Mirage or G4! Calipers are 100% the same as are the pads so it's a very easy upgrade to make! Renegade hopes you enjoy the video and that it might be useful for you if you own one of these cars. Thanks for watching and remember to adopt, not shop!

Hey everyone! My friend has SOLD her 1989 Dodge Shadow ES but I figured I'd leave the video up just to document what a cool car it was and since there's not a lot of information out there on these things anymore. I know my most recent few videos have been eBay auctions but my friends are moving up this way from the St. Louis area in the near future so they're trying to find homes for all their ...

Hey everyone! Yet another one of the projects needs a home. This time it's a 1989 Dodge Caravan SE with the factory 2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder engine! The van was parked for several years because it wouldn't run but it was a bad fuel filter and fuel hose. After we replaced those it ran great but the radiator was leaking so that was also replaced with a new one. Now, it's running great and is ready f...

Hello everybody! Back with some Mitsubishi Mirage goodness for your enjoyment! This particular Mirage is a 2015 DE CVT in a gorgeous PLASMA PURPLE. I recently purchased this car from a small car lot because they didn't want to put in the time/funds to fix it. So let's fix the ABS and Traction Control systems with some new sensors off the "Jungle site" and get that system (and the car itself) ba...

i thought about the kona with the 1.6 turbo, but im trying to hold out for flexfuel. Very few options for a compact car with flex fuel.
I have a brand new lexus nx 350. Had to call roadside twice already. News flash. All new cars are crap.
Damn that sucks! Hopefully they'll get it figured out quick!
I love the color though
Me too!
Fun video...I know these are great cars...you're spot on about the Mirage (I'm driving a 2023 Hyundai Venue Limited...really like it).
I really like the Venue. That's my next vehicle once the Mirage is tired.
What's the part number for MFD?
No clue, sorry. I got it out of a similar year Forester.
Are you angry or impressed 😂
I'd be lying if I didn't say both lol
warranty ? to lazy to go to the dealership? sounds like a fake video
That damn car spent many many days at the dealership. Warranty isn't worth anything if they tell you there's no parts available and they have no idea when they'll show up.

File a lemon law suit , probably wind up a class action lawsuit.
I'd try if it was still here but it's long gone now
Didn't know the syncro were a weak link One more reason to not offer much for a mirage. And to think im on a call list at Anderson mitsubishi in the event they get a 5 speed traded in.
It's not this car's fault. The guy I bought it off of absolutely thrashed the hell out of it but that's why it was $400 haha.
The electrical portion of ABS inst hard. Its the hydraulic side thats a nightmare. Grandmother's 97 lesabre has been an absolute nightmare to get the brakes working right since it popped a brakeline. Borrowed a tech 2 scanner from work to force the abs system into service mode and still won't bleed properly. Probably will be biting the bullet and getting a pressure bleeder next. Got next to no pressure to the front brakes
I've heard that before. When I had a brake line fail on a 96 Grand Caravan I had to let it gravity bleed for like an hour and that was able to get the air out of the system.
Made in china
I have a 2002 Toyota Camry with 283k miles on it , and it’s very reliable 😆👌
My old 2012 Prius C had almost 400,000 miles on it and is still going strong!
does your state have a lemon law? because that's definitely what happened. You just had the bad luck to get the one bad apple of the bunch. my 2025 Trax has right at 1500 miles too, and I haven't had even the smallest issue from day one.
Illinois lemon law states you have to have the same issue attempted to be repaired four times... And it only counts in the first year.
@@aenoymotors oh man. That's rough. I'm sorry to hear that. They're much more in depth down here in the south. Out of curiosity, did you ever come to a resolution of some sort?
Sure did, traded the car in the same day I recorded this video for a new Kona that has (knock on wood) never been back to the dealer since.
@@aenoymotors I've heard good things about those. I wish you the best of luck with it! And hope for the same with my trax I took 2 flights to go buy haha
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I hope your car behaves itself as well!
This is the cutest
Knows there's a wet timing belt and a small motor. Damn near redlines it repeatedly on Rockford city streets anyway. 😅
It was on its way to go bye bye.
I think what chevy made seems great at first glance. It rides decent it looks nice. But dig deeper and its got cheap materials, hard plastic where you put your elbows which makes no sense. I think the 3 cylinder turbo has just enough power until you reach interstate speeds. I have a nephew who works for gm, said they have had problems with the timing belt. I decided the price alone wasnt enough to make me buy it.
For the price it would be a decent car if it was built just a little better!
@@aenoymotors I agree
Had my brand new trax longer than you and mine still works like mint
Glad your's is behaving!
This is why I buy imports. They may cost more to fix l, but break way less often
I hear that!
Lol I had a lemon! It does suck! GM bought it back after a 2 yr fight! They will ruin your life for a couple of years as long as it's a lemon! Not a gremlin!
In Illinois you only have a year. I was over fighting with them and will just not ever give them my business again.
Looked all over for a 5 speed model to replace my saturn s series
They're out there! The manual transmission is nice but I have a ton of back pain so I can't enjoy the manuals too much anymore.
This happens with every brand but it happens more with certain brands than others. This is less likely if you purchase a Toyota for instance
You might be unlucky not all of these are so problematic I don't think
It's possible but it's a complete mess in the Facebook group for them. Lots of windows not working, lots of ac evaporator failure, and a few burning to the ground.
Heard the 2025 are getting a timing chain in the 1.2, however the info is unclear. Found a company in germany that makes a conversion kit. Oh well, if they still got the wet belt, Im rolling the dice with a ford maverick. Im a GM guy, but never bought new. Tired of old, but my '01 saturn still has working a/c.
That would be great if they dumped the stupid wet belts but I believe the 2025's that are out now are exactly the same.
I was seriously considering the clone of this vehicle, the Buick Envista, but after hearing your story, no way. I'm disappointed as I had my heart set on the Envista. I had good experiences with the current generation Malibu so I was confident that GM products were good. My gut was telling me to stay away from a turbo 3cylinder with a wet belt, but my heart said the opposite. The deal killer was the "no AC with remote start" Plus all the other little niggling gremlins you discovered. Plus no help from GM and the inabiltiy of GM dealer service to fix things.
Their lack of assistance and basically being angry at me for being upset this car was a junker is what made me get rid of it. I even got rid of my Bolt because I was so fed up with GM service.
wanted to look at the braking system on the Mirage considering buying one a 2024.
They're great cars.
@aenoymotors harbor frieght has 2 types of caliper collapsing tools both very reliable but you can buy the snap-on one I own for $120, 30 yrs ago. no clue what it would cost you today.
pensioned after 40 yrs FEDEX fleet mechanic Permatex anti-sieze is your best friend I used it on hub face slide pins it withstands high temp from brake pads ect. can use it on the bolts as long as you use a torque wrench & torque it to specs. Also should mention release bleeder screw when collapsing piston on the caliper or it can cause problems with the ABS system (note I worked predominantly on Fords) js...
Ive thought of this and a lil bs turbo/sport tag
question, i’m thinking on buying one, is it really bad ??
I wouldn't buy one again! Even if it's 100% good the wet timing and oil pump belts are going to be problematic.
It did sound like shit, mine is quiet and silky smooth! He must of got a lemon! Plus first year are buggy! 😮😮
I owned this one year. This is amazing car
Glad your's has been good to you!
7:43 😂😂😂 ur hilarious man
Thanks!
Hey I should buy this car! 😅😅😅
You need the FFV!
On a single piston a flathead screwdriver will reset them easier than a c clamp
Interesting! I'll have to keep that in mind.
@aenoymotors you can just pry it back before you take it off and the caliper will come off easier as well
I heard those early Mitsu 2.6 Hemi's (yes because they were hemispherically installed) were BulletProof!?!?!
Ehh... They're pretty good but the carburetor is absolutely terrible. The more industrial one without jet valves, balance shafts, and emissions stuff is one tough cookie.
Literally 4 minutes into the video and the rotors are off, lol, the Mirage is great, could be one of the greatest cars ever built!
They are really easy to work on. The only "gotcha" is the oil filter. It's not in a pleasant place to reach if you don't have really skinny arms.
@@aenoymotors I took the plastic guard off.. it still is quite awkward though.
My 2017 SE currently has 113k miles on it. Zero oil consumption between 4k mile oil changes and the trans is still very smooth and quiet to this day.
Hey OrganicFoxes! I recognize you from Mirage Forum! I'm "Dodge Aries K" on there.
Nigga the cars fine..
5 mins in and no specific problem the car gives u. Not a great sign
It had lots of issues! Windows not working, a/c dead, backup camera failure, onstar failure... apparently the list keeps going on after I dumped it because I just got a recall notice for it haha.
@@aenoymotors really? We just bought ours several months back and haven't received anything. What was the recall for? I can look it up but since u mentioned it. As for those issues that warranted the title "2nd worst car I've ever owned!" I can't seem to find them. Those minor inconveniences seem nitpicky. You must have amazing luck with cars if this is the 2nd to worst you've owned, consider yourself lucky partner
I dunno, I think the air conditioner dying is kind of a big deal. It's more the fact the car had all these goofy issues with zero resolution in sight.
Lemon law... Force them to buy it back..
I tried! GM said no because it still moved.

A lot of Hyundais are made in Korea. Just like the Trax 😂😂😂😂😂
Yep, my Kona and Ioniq 5 are made in Korea.
What was the problem? Would you buy one again?
Honestly, it had some noises and other issues that annoyed me. My 2017 was rock solid with zero problems at all. With how damn cheap you can get used ones I wouldn't hesitate but I'd honestly go for a lower trim with heated seats instead of the fancier one I had. Less stuff to fail.
I guess luck of the draw?
Could be! I've seen a lot of people with the same issues on the facebook group, though.
Got a 2024 Chevy Trax as well. About to roll over 30k miles. No issues.

@aenoymotors lol, yeah, when u mentioned in your vid you're from Rockford, I was like, "Oh wow, not far from me. I'm from Beloit.
No kidding? That's cool. I used to live in South Beloit and would come across the border to go to the taco truck guy that was parked by the Advance or Autozone over on the west side of town there. I can't remember the name of it for the life of me but that dude made some good food for SURE.
