I love your mushroom. The little knot in the middle looks like an eye. So cute. You do what you have to. Life and family always comes first. We will still be here waiting for you. Much love, take care and stay safe. I hope all goes well for you with the Covid vaccine. Blessed be Phil. ♥😺♥🤗♥
Thank you so much, Joalla! I got my first shot of vaccine easy-peasy. The second shot is proving a little more difficult to get. I'm fine and back in the shop! 😊
This piece is similar to what I do; you know, small boxes, little containers, etc. I'm really happy because your way of work and your thoughts are similar to mines. Is a confirmation that what I do, and the way that I do it, is right. Thank you Phil.
Phil, that's one gorgeous mushroom. Why if I was a toad I'd proudly sit upon your mushroom and trill to my heart's content all night long. Take Care and God Bless !!!!!
A Very nice piece. Thank you for the time you spend doing these videos. I'm 68 and first watch woodturning while stationed in Thailand and Vietnam during the war.. Needless to say, they don't follow safety procedures there like we do in the west. Grew up on a small farm in East Tennesse near the Great Smokey Mountains, so there was a lot of wood available. The problem was my woodworking " Fun" was building barns, string barbed wire fences,,,building gates, sheds chicken brooder houses, and hog pens. Now that I'm retired, I intend to do some woodworking, not carpentry. All the youtube videos inspire me to do many things. Hope I live long enough to do a few. Thanks
That is an adorable mushroom! I love it. At the beginning, I was stressed that you were taking off all the bark, but as always, you know exactly what you're doing.
Watching "The Mushroom Project" as we speak, Phil. I think you're doing just fine. Again, you are such an inspiration to me. Learn something new from each video. Keep em coming my friend. Wayne in WI.🤓
You say you don't know what you're talking about. I say keep on talking. It all makes sense to me. You're great and I hope all the issues are successfully taken care of.
Very cool! That X on top is really unique. I guess you never know just what will be revealed as you turn the wood. I used to help my dad in his work shop years ago. I have always loved the smell of wood. It now reminds me of my dad.
Nice ‘shroom! Make some more, bigger and smaller and then group them together on a split piece of log. A fungal display so to speak! You’re very creative Phil!
Like others have said we will be here when you get back. It will tough going if you miss a week or two but we will survive. LOL I hope the Sumac doesn't start splitting. The bark on the Sumac is really pretty
Looks plenty whimsical to me. I think this is my favorite piece I've seen you do. But then again I love The Hobbit and that's what it reminds me of. God bless, and thanks for the wonderful video.
Wonderful video Phil. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy your videos! You are informative and entertaining and you turn beautiful pieces. This mushroom box is very nicely done. The bark looks so good with the wood finish.
Nice mushroom Phil it’s really cute and don’t worry about the video sometimes you just have take things one at a time and if life gives you lemons then make lemonade. Take care and God Bless you Phil.
Bonsoir Phil ! Hé oui, la vie n'est pas un long fleuve tranquille ! Un fleuve j'en ai un devant chez moi, La LOIRE, fleuve royal, indomptable ! Hey Phil awesome mushroom. Forr a guy that doesn't like spindle turning that was a great piece of turning. And don't worry we will all still be here eagerly awaiting your next video whenever that happens to be. Take care of yourself and your family. Andrew
I like the thought process you add to your videos. It makes them a lot more valuable to me than some random 30 minutes of flying chips. Your willingness to tackle imperfect bits of wood and figure out how to get something out of them is invaluable and inspiring.
Let life take you where you have to go Phil. We all enjoy your video’s and I know I personally look forward to Friday breakfast with Phil but we will all survive. Great project again this week. Keep um coming, when time permits.
it is a beautiful little treasure box. it looks very magical and alive. you can almost see and eye and a small nose peek out on the stem of the mushroom the way the knots are arranged. thank you for sharing. Understand about your wind problems we have those kinds of power outages too but never for 4 days. hope things get better soon.
Beautiful mushroom Phil, I know all about when it rains it POURS... hope all will work out in the life happenings and yes we will miss you if you're not there next week... TWO weeks would be 😳... keep safe Phil... thanks for this week's adventure in the Shady Acres Woodshop
Hi Phil... beautiful mushroom box... I really like the design... and all from someone who says that he doesn't like spindle work... take care...All the best.....Andy
Yech! LOL! We all started at spindle turning and I enjoyed it, too. Now I can hardly make myself do it. Too much thought, too many tools, too much planning. Icky!
Hey Phil still playing catch-up watching you made long before I discovered you. I have made quite a few mushrooms but never as a box. That is now on my list to try. Enjoyed and learning more each time I watch you. Thanks Dan.
Great job Phil! We'll all be here waiting for your next video. But take care of the things you need to do; my wife is currently out of town taking care of her mom as she goes thru chemo. Family comes first. If you don't get a video out for a while we'll miss you, but we understand and we'll survive. Just have to watch some of the older videos (which I haven't seen all, yet...😁).
mushrooms come in many shapes in nature, yours wil fit in there also nicely! i love it!great idea is the boxx in that shape!grtngs, walter, from belgium!we l wil wait in patience for the next video!stay safe!
Nice mushroom box, Phil! Sorry to hear about your troubles. Don't worry about us, my friend, we'll be here. Life happens and needs to be taken care of. I know. I've been out of commission since before Christmas and I'm still about a month from being able to get back into the shop.
Thank you, Billy! It's so good to know you are making progress. another month just isn't that long it the grand scheme of things. The point is, you'll get there and that's good enough for me!
Thanks, Phil! A fun project with the live edge I like so much. Sorry for your extended power outage. I'm happy you're in the cue for your Covid shot. We're on "the list" but no vaccine. Such a mess. Take care of life! Your fans will be right here.... Cheers, Pete
Started turning 3-4 years ago because I wanted to turn bowls. Have turned a lot of pens, and other spindals but have yet to turn a bowl. That will soon change! I know I need to start simple but the videos I have watched of you just look fun and exactly what I have wanted to do. I will force myself to start a few simple ones first, and get some technique but look forward to doing stuff like you are doing. Thanks for sharing and making me want to get in there and do some daring stuff.
I think we all start out as spindle turners, Boyd. I sure did. Now that I'm a bowl turner, spindles intimidate me. I don't know what to do, how to do it and it's not fun! And, it takes so many tools! I'm sure you will enjoy bowls once you decide to get started. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Phil. Your videos are really educative. I am new to woodturning but eager to learn. I will certainly keep tabs. Not so many of us out here in Kenya, but some lovely wood for turning. Thanks
Hi Phi great piece. I've only just started wood turning as a hobby I agree with you a tight lid may sound good but whatever is inside will be on the floor. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thank You Phil, Thank You Dan....Something different Phil. Really like that bark. I very much enjoy the way you politely talk us through your game plan. It makes me feel like I am part of your turning design instead of watching an authority instructor with strict hard rules for me to follow. So very refreshing you are Phil! I look forward to your next show whenever you are able to show it....Take Care Out There Phil......TM
You are very welcome, Tuffy! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and my lazy approach. LOL! I "might" have things under control, I plan on turning tomorrow, we'll see, but I sure could use a haircut!
Phil, there are so many stories about a mushroom, many unrepeatable but your mushroom is the best. You go do whatcha gotta do and know we’ll all be here when you get things taken care of... live life
I really like that you talk during your videos. It’s so much better than the silent turning videos the other guys do.
Glad you enjoy it, Bennett! Not everyone does. I just like to think we are all standing around the lathe shooting the breeze. 😃
Love the sound of the rain in the background. We live on the Olympic Peninsula and I enjoy working on a rainy day with the roll up door open.
Oh, yeah, lots of rain over there along with here! 😊
This piece is similar to what I do; you know, small boxes, little containers, etc. I'm really happy because your way of work and your thoughts are similar to mines. Is a confirmation that what I do, and the way that I do it, is right. Thank you Phil.
Cool! Thank you, Robert! 😊
Phil, that's one gorgeous mushroom. Why if I was a toad I'd proudly sit upon your mushroom and trill to my heart's content all night long. Take Care and God Bless !!!!!
Thank you, Freddie, trill away! 😊

No sign of splits but the lid does fit a little looser, Don. Thank you, see you soon!
The master did it again. It is an amazing and awesome little mushroom Phil.
Thanks again, Kobie! 😊
Spindle turning? Skew? Are you sure this is the right channel? Excellent job as always. Looks fantastic. Take care and see you when the time is right.
Yeah, it was time for a change but only for a short while, Mark! I'm sure a bowl will be next! Thank you!
Looks plenty whimsical to me. I think this is my favorite piece I've seen you do. But then again I love The Hobbit and that's what it reminds me of. God bless, and thanks for the wonderful video.

Sounds good, Wayne, thanks for hanging in with me!
You always say you don't know what your doing, you know exactly what your doing !
I can get it done but it's a struggle. A different mindset than turning bowls, for sure! Thanks, Dave!
Very nice as expected. Always a pleasure!

You and your comment (I credited you in the description) are the reason I turned this, Andy! I'm glad you like it, thank you! 😊
A delightful piece Phil! The "x" on the top is a surprise Mother Nature gift. This piece is functional and cute. 😊
😊
Nice work! I like it! Take care of yourself and obligations. We do what we have to do to make it through. Best of luck to you.
Thanks, Joel! Will do! 😊
It DOES look like a mushroom! And the decision to leave the bark on makes it look all the more impressive. Great job!
Cool, thanks, Greg! 😊
Best wishes on a swift clean recovery
Much appreciated 😊
Yay more spindle turning wish you liked doing it, I always enjoyed it found bowls harder to do.

I know, me too, Sunshine! With this one though, it might be hard to get the bark out of your teeth! LOL!
@@PhilAndersonShadyAcresWoodshop 🤣😂🤣
One of my favorite things about watching you is that you design as you go which is how I do it. I like to find whatever is hiding inside the wood.
Cool, thanks, Jon! I definitely prefer that route over agonizing about how something should be and then try to do that. It seldom works for me.
That is quite cute and the wood work is beautiful!
Thank you very much, Anna Marie! 😊
You just take care of life. Blessings
I'm on it, Michael, thank you so much!

Thanks so much, Glenda! I like it, too! 😊
You made all those steps seem easy! Pretty grain
Thanks, Darryl! 😃
It's just so cute!!! 💕
Glad you like it, Sandy, thanks! 😊
Very nice piece Phil. The X mark on the top of the mushroom really sets the piece off in my opinion.
I agree, Scott, that X is cool!
We will miss you and prayers for all that coming.
This was months ago, doing fine, now! 😊
It just showed up on my page. Lol. Sorry

Pretty cool indeed Phil! I really like it. Sorry about your power. I know how much of a pain that can be but you're back in the shop now!
Right on, Gil. Thank you for watching! 😊
I think it is great, Phil. What ya gotta do now is create a leprechaun to sit on top! Or a steak to go with it!
I'd have better luck with the steak, Tom! LOL!
Thanks, Phil! A fun project with the live edge I like so much. Sorry for your extended power outage. I'm happy you're in the cue for your Covid shot. We're on "the list" but no vaccine. Such a mess. Take care of life! Your fans will be right here.... Cheers, Pete

I bet it'd be neat to do something like this using a nice cherry burl to make the cap.
That would be beautiful, Phil!
Crossed swords or pens like an X. It's a really cool piece.

Nice job, very unique. You are an inspiration for me to try new things, Thank you Phil.
