This video's mod forces my SOUL to be blue for the full length of every battle. Can I complete the Undertale Genocide route under this restriction? Is Sans's final attack even possible? Watch to find out.

I like the idea that Sans or Papyrus, by defying the laws of physics, set your soul to blue mode before you even fell into the underground

i think the way it is programmed makes it so only muffets attacks affect it or smth
I would think that green soul would also be possible to program but probably the hardest, maybe the shield would be 8 directional, you still couldn't move, the shield width is probably smaller to match the 8 way, and everything else stays the same

green soul can only block undyne attacks, and purple soul only lets muffet attack you so your invincible in fights other then muffet

Imagine a mod where any two enemies can appear in any location (like froggit and icecap, for example), and their attacks are forced to be combined like normal dual/triple encounters, imagine how chaotic that would be lol

ok but genuinely, i love how some of the dialogue is changed for comedic purposes on these mod videos. really adds onto the challenge and makes it all the better
Now we need the pacifist version of this run. It'd be much harder as you only get 20 HP and there'd be many more fights. I'd love to see Omega Flowey with this mod.

The Omega Flowey fight would still have the SOUL set to red, since it’s not an actual battle, it’s a room, and the SOUL isn’t actually a SOUL.
Outside of Asgore and Asriel a pacifist version of this wouldn’t be that different since you can just run from every encounter

Hiya Shayy! Here's my comment for ze algorithm! Here are a CRAP TON of ideas for future mods that I came up with just now...
- Undertale but you're always submerged in water (like in Waterfall)
- Undertale but you're always Green (self-explanatory)
- Undertale but you're always Purple (self-explanatory)
- Undertale but the game is reversed (start at the ending and go to the beginning)
- Undertale but enemy attacks are 2x faster (self-explanatory)
- Undertale but you're 2x slower (self-explanatory)
- Undertale but everybody swears constantly (good luck with monetizing this lmao)
- Undertale but your name changes stuff (ex: naming the character "Papyrus" makes Frisk, the soul and its hitbox taller, naming the character "Sans" makes Frisk, the soul and its hitbox shorter and wider)
- Undertale but your soul is upside down (kinda like in the Sans fight when he pushes your blue soul around the battle box?)
- Undertale but every sound effect is Sans talking (lol)
- Undertale but with the Orange and Cyan souls (adds the orange/cyan souls with new gimmicks)
- Undertale but graphics/music/sound effects are all completely randomized (there could be some wacky results!)
- Undertale HELL MODE! (no saving, healing, 2.5x increased enemy damage, 0.75x player defense, etc.)

For some reason I misinterpreted this as every attack is blue, meaning you couldn't move. That'd be sorta interesting in the future maybe - either you can't move, or each attack is a mix of blue/orange bullets! It'd be cool to see how you manage it :D
I am not sure how you first thought all attacks being cyan would be fun when its literally just not moving
But the second idea sounds incredibly intriguing since orange attacks are only used like 3 times in vanilla which is unfortunate, they deserve to be used more

Based on how the soul only became blue *after* Flowey was blown offscreen by Toriel, I think that Flowey was the one who was keeping the soul from being blue in the first place.

I always think that the attacks are faced forward, but from our view it’s sideways, so it would be like Left=Forward and right=Backward (Versa Versa)

Undertale but sans is helping the enemies (every enemy has 1 dodge and the menus are inhabited by alot alot of bones,also everyone has karma damage but that would be kinda hard to program probably and play but then again you are a qualified content creator and professional gamer/speedrunner)

This makes me wonder how a purple soul type only run would go 🤔 Not sure if it would work for any of the final bosses considering the expanded playing fields, would probably require extensive workarounds

Would it be possible to do something related to the colored tile puzzle? Maybe there could be a random chance of the floor of a room being those tiles. Having it be every room would likely take way too long to play through, but having it either be a random chance or set to be every x amount of rooms could be interesting. There would have to be a solution to the puzzle every time of course, but maybe that could be randomized as well. Green tiles could either be a monster from the region of the room you’re in or randomized to be anything (whether this includes or excludes bosses could be up to you/the modder(s)).
I don’t think it matters which run you do, but I also wonder whether it would be entertaining to have to rely on the green tiles for encounters in a genocide run. If that were the case then the “tile rooms” might have to appear more often. Maybe every room could be a tile room until you get all encounters and then you would be free to progress until the next region? I’m just throwing stuff out there to see what ideas do and don’t work if you see this.

7:49 I just realized Toby probably meant to put a bandana in that box since in base UT you only have the toy knife for Toriel and you only have the bandana for Papyrus. And given that I’m pretty sure losing to Papyrus is faster than actually sparing him, you actually _want_ to take damage, which would make the bandana a sort of “I could put this on to make Snowdin Forest easier but you can’t re-equip the bandage so it’ll make Papyrus take longer” thing.
Warning: This next part is a really long tangent about souls or something. I would (and definetly should) delete it, but I spent like half an hour typing all of it so I won’t. You have been warned.
(Also, on the topic of gear, I feel bad for whichever human had the cloudy glasses and torn notebook (probably for them just the clear glasses and notebook) (I think the community landed on Perserverence being the soul Gerson sells the gear of, which I’m not sure on, but it’s canon for me because you’d need some God damn perserverence to make it to Waterfall with just that stuff, especially without saving (Yeah, it’s perserverence. I forgot [neutral Flowey boss which I will not name due to a split fandom] (man, I hate that people associate square brackets with Spamton now. It makes redacting text so much harder) existed. Yeah, I was right. From [That Flowey boss], we know that the notebook and glasses were perserverence, integrity was the ballerina set, bravery was the tough set, Clover, etc. I can’t pull up the wiki to check the rest (stupid firewall), but I think [Whatever green’s attribute was] was the chef one and patience was the Ruins set (and obviously the bandage and stick are Frisk’s and the knife and locket are [The fallen human]’s))))))))
I’ve been going for so long that I fogot what I was talking about. I don’t even remember how many parenthesis to close so I just did that many (I’m not gonna count). Anyways, what was I talking about? The bandana? It’s been like 30 minutes and I forgot what I was doing. Oh well!
