I changed my transmission fluid and needed to add A LOT of transmission fluid before it stopped slipping. I did a pan dump and put in a new filter (not a complete flush). I had to add about 6 quarts of ATF-4. Shifts beautiful now!
Just like Scotty K says, drain and exchange. Dont flush. Older transmissions need the clutch material to not slip.
THE DEPOSITS(AS SAID) IS/ARE THE CLUTCH MATERIAL...YOU FLUSH IT OUT YOU HAVE NOW MADE THE GAPS BIGGER AND IT WILL MOVE AT ALL
For a focus 2 quarts its $50, if i want to flush I'll spend $250, focus and there stupid powershift DCT "upgrade" sucks.
No way. No flushing and replace the filter and new filter 😂
