Such an awesome video man! it just popped in my feed. I'm 42 and lost my dad 14 years ago and he was my world! i cant say more how much i miss him. As i was growing up he was really big on road trips and took me on quiet few road trips in my home country of Iran. but unfortunately as i grew up he also grew old and my late teen and most of my 20s went to take care of him and never got a chance to do any of the things i dreamed of doing with him. Props to you for making wonderful sweet memories with your dad! Stay safe brother!
Wow Alex, thank you so much for sharing that story. I appreciate you taking the time to comment! I'm so glad that I was able to do this since I know that we are all just getting older. I met a handful of people along the trip that shared with me how much they wish they spent more time with their dad or parent. I let them know about the background of our trip, how we were doing this before he retired, and they were all stoked for us two. Hoping to do more in the future (east coast maybe?) and will be definitely be sharing it here on my channel!
Wow! That means a lot! Have fun and be safe. Leave your schedule with some flexibility so if there are some locations that you guys are interested in, you can take a detour. We did that on our last parts of the trip which you will see in the upcoming episodes!
I bought my 1998 Eclipse GS-T from San Diego California and drove it home to Minnesota. Took me 3 days to get home but definitely worth it. The 2G Mitsubishi Eclipse is my most favorite car of ALL TIME.
What an amazing journey. My dad passed away last month, and I so wish I could've taken a trip with him like this but we never got the chance. Cherish these moments and keep driving!
everyone always complains about Kansas about being a boring drive, but fail to realize how smooth our highways are compared to the surrounding states. Taking I-70 into Colorado is like driving through a battle field when you hit the border. Pot holes on Kansas highways are almost non existent. Great video I wish my FRS was more comfortable to drive long distances.
Oh absolutely, the highways in Kansas were much, MUCH smoother than whatever crap Oklahoma has. The views were just non-existent lol the Great Plains for you.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment Phil! My condolences to you and your family. I am for sure wanting to maximize my time and opportunities with my dad!
Great content man. Watching from South Africa and you've definitely convinced me to get a supra. Went to my local dealership this morning so waiting to see what happens!
Did a road trip with my girl (Camaro ss FBO and wrx ) 6k trip and it was so awesome. It did suck going to national parks because my car so loud 😂but that ain’t stop me!! Sick video 👍
Great video! I took both my mom on her first road/camping trip a few months ago, and in January, I rented a Challenger and took my dad on a few day trips in the Florida area. Both trips were time well spent. I highly recommend doing this if you can. Also, I'm pretty sure I spotted you on I-5 in the Seattle area not long ago. Thanks for sharing!
Dude! yes! this is an amazing video, not just the scenes and cinematography, but the fact that you took your DAD! That is goals, I want to do the same, but I am on two wheels! haha
as a quick fix for your window, you can use a little tube of super glue and put there after clean it with alcohol, it will prevent window from cracking it further. peace dude. nice car!
The good thing about these newer sports cars is that you can actually do something like this with relative comfort and reliability. Trying going on such a long road trip with a 90's JDM sh!tbox lol
Yes that's the nice thing about it! Comfortable on the road with modern amenities and got 25mpgs average lol I can't imagine doing this trip in an older Evo, Toyota, or Nissan.
*if yours can last with that much mileage and mods I'm guessing the 2024 premium I just took delivery of can do the same I'm probably sticking to OEM+*
@@VinceChristmastree oh yeah maintenance is routine, I kept other cars/ Hondas running to 300k miles before I let it go. So it's good to know the Supra will survive just cruising every weekend. Ok thanks, keep up the good work with the mk5 journeys. 😎
Swapped out to the AWE Touring because I wanted to have a conversation with my dad and not have us go deaf lol. The RK is cool and sounds badass, but just way too much for how much I drive the car.
Yes, it's working! Honestly, if you block out the stupid "haha it's a BMW" crowd, it's a fantastic car. I'm biased since I own one, but it's hard to find another car that offers the performance for the price.
That’s so awesome man you doing this amazing roadtrip in a sport car with your dad I have a manual 2010 camaro SS and I hope that I can do a roadtrip with my dad but unfortunately he will never do it with me because he didn’t like the things I like and we are not really that close although we love and respect each other and maybe one day I will do it with my son in my Camaro
Thank you for watching! I'm really blessed to be able to have a car like this and be able to take my dad on a trip. I'm sorry to hear that about you and your dad, but all I can say is that you can be the change you want to be with your son. He will cherish those memories and all of the stories he will be able to tell his friends is going to be priceless. I still talk about the roadtrips I took as a kid with my family to this day, and that was 20 years ago.
New to the channel just wondering if you had to make any modifications for the storage system to fit? What model is it along with your cross bars? It looks amazing
Thanks for watching! Nope, all just stock. Roof box is the Thule Motion XT Alpine and the cross bars itself is the SeaSucker mount. Most difficult part was just making sure the box is centered on the car and viewing it from the front. Here's a more in-depth video I made about the setup: ruclips.net/video/AAZsFlBFnbk/видео.html
@@VinceChristmastree Car was fully packed, full trunk and full backseat. All that horsepower and torque really helped out. Was still super quick. Los Angeles to CO day 1, CO to Omaha NE day 2, NE to OH Day 3, and OH to CT day 4, Then took a trip up Mt. Washington in NH, then drove to the northeastern tip of the country (Quoddy Park Lubec Maine) Then took a drive down to NJ, through to Busch Gardens in VA, Carrowinds in NC/SC then to Pigeon Forge TN, then to the Corvette plant in Bowling Green KY, then to Dallas TX, then to Gallup NM, then finally stopped a few days in Vegas before being home. Tons of bugs. There are some parts that I did not even record where the bug splatters just covered the entire front end of the car. I'm sure I got more rock chips, but at this point, I don't even care with all the ones I already have lol
What legitimately inspired you to do this with the supra. Beginning of the video you said your father stated it would be cool to go on a road trip. Why did you choose the supra as your vehicle for this? Why not something else?
Great question!! I'll mention it in one of my later episodes, but my family and I went on a lot of roadtrips when I was growing up. Probably one every school break from when I was in middle school all the way to college. There were so many amazing places we went to and of course, nice twisty roads. I told myself that when I get the chance, I would bring a sports car to those places to enjoy. Fast forward, here we are! Plus with the car being the Supra and doing it with my dad, I wouldn't have it any other way. I just really enjoy driving the car that I find as many reasons to drive it. Hoping that this would be the first of many adventures with the car!
