      Sand dabs and petrale sole are nice eating. I think we should emphasize eating more plentiful sources, such as sardines, herring, squid. I wonder if they will halt river fishing of salmon as well later on in the year.

    You’re lucky you’ve never run out of battery! Don’t fish in a bad mood...just stay home. I can literally run a battery down if a day is on a negative turn. I’ve managed to deplete lithium ion batteries in aa matter of a day, with very little draw. In that same day, after checking water in my good old heavy lead acid battery, I have run it down just using lights , and running my iPad down, needing a full charge. I’m on of those people who can’t wear a watch due to a predilection to have it run way too fast. There’s a scientific reason, but I’ve personally noticed that it’s a blatantly obvious fact when I am overstressed, and especially when I am cranky! Luckily, I’m normally un phased by most people, unless they are careless idiots with no regard for manners of any kind...you know the type...roadrage jerks, Meth heads, and just general thugs with a need for attention, usually the more negative the attention, the better in their evil opinion! I observe people, and have an ability to sense their general attitude...I’ve saved my own life reading others quirkiness, more than once. But getting out I in nature can be the best thing to stabilize one’s mind and temperament...
    As long as there are no batteries involved to multiply Thad bad mood!

The fish and wildlife management is better and more consistent here than CA sadly.

      @@pdsCV washington tends to follow California in alot of things including wildlife management... it may not be today or tomorrow but i wouldn't say our management system is much better, we just have better habitat.
      It's actually the tribes that have the loudest voices and do alot of the work to keep our fisheries going.
      (Off topic) but there has been plans introduced to phase out hunters as management tools because they dont like the idea of hunters actually being beneficial to an ecosystem. for whatever reasons, they dont like hunters, they're vegan, they dont want you to kill anything, etc.
      When will anglers be next?
      Also the last thing washington fisheries needed is another guy standing shoulder to shoulder on the bank trying harvest salmon.

    • @pdsCV
      @pdsCV Год назад

      @@UpNorthOutWest Who says I'd be doing that? I've got a boat and will mainly be harvesting crabs with a few salmon here and there. The tribes are a major difference between WA and CA and have a beneficial role to play.
      Off topic: you seem to ignore the fact that I have my entire life as history with WA. I've seen this stuff come and go and I've seen what has happened to King, Populated parts of Pierce, and Snohomish counties (Seattle, Tacoma and the northern cities, roughly equivalent to the upper SF peninsula for those from NorCal). They have a chance. Also keep in mind that the "calis" who went there, fled CA for a reason, and it's not just high housing costs. I don't think WA will ultimately go CA's route.

      @UpNorthOutWest Год назад

      @@pdsCV okay even worse another boat in the sound/ocean isn't needed😂 but im mostly joking about not coming here... i get it, a guys gonna fish one way or another.
      But on the other hand I have lived here my entire life and I'm well versed in the outdoor politics here, most certainly more than you.
      I spend hours listening in on WDFW meetings, signing petitions, donating to organizations fighting against the BS, staying up to date on all of it and i have got to say our management is going to s***
      Is it better than cali? Yes maybe, but not by much. Again its really the tribes and the sportsmen keeping it afloat (which they're trying to phase out)
      When you come here i encourage you to ask fellow anglers about the management and they'll let you hear it, talk to a guide or two.
      To think that they are doing a much better job than cali is just ignorance.
      There is less and less opportunities every year, some years are better than others but the overall trend for the past 20 years has been downwards, it most certainly hasn't "come and gone"
      It doesn't help with washington being one of the fastest growing states in the country,
      people leaving the cesspool states they fled and then coming here and voting for the same type of people.
      Quite frankly i think you should have to be a resident of 5 years to fish salmon/steelhead but that would never happen.

    I didn't see it as clickbait. I see ithem as regulations with the purpose of killing our fishing & hunting cultures. With hunting only no-lead profectiles aer allowed, to save a vulture from lead poisoning, but oddly not us. Instrad, we have Warninh stickers on any product that contains, even plastics. I like to hunt small game with .22 rf, but we only have 2 possibilities that are difficult to find, being that buying from websites that can ship to your home. My 3 rf rifles do not shoot either choice accurately ebough to hit a cottontail, much less failing to expand and kill animals humainly.
    Same with fishing, It would benefit us to have a lawyer, to help with interpreting all of the regs, daily. We are also warned that they may chenge everydsy. Look for a near future ban on lead, and of course the cleverly named 30-30 Law that was signed by our favorite gov. This order will essentially close 30% of all CA coastline on top of the may Marine preserves from 10 yrs ago.
    Lastly, 30% of all outdoor available land for fishing, hiking & hunting will be closed to us. What shocks me is because we are so complecent. We were told that the Marine closures of 10 yrs. ago would only last 5. We get nothing back as we are owned. We'll be thrown a bone now and then, to keep us happy in the short time.
    We continue to bendover & take it. while still all our state legislatures will continue to aim to dominate our state's weak voters that will offer no resistance.
    Oh yeah in 2030 the ban on gasoline powered watercraft will go in effect. So keep voting for the far left, so they will keep us under their power, thus "helpjess."

    Why mention halibut, there are no halibut in cali. What you guys call hali is just a flounder very closely related to the fluke...

      @@joseduran7368 nope, go online and read about cali hallie and it CLEARLY says it's a flounder and many guides etc i have spoken to confirm that it is in fact a flounder. It's called a hallie because of the size but IS a flounder. A pacific hallie can be 4-500 pounds...go check the record for cali hallie....

    The Bay Area bite has really slowed down lately. I fish the bank like 3 times a week anywhere from alameda to Crockett and not much action the last few weeks kinda makes me a little worried

      The water clarity is still bad. The constant storms aren't helping.
