This episode features on local rider Alex, who has lived and breathed the Oxley Highway for most of his riding life, often with his wife Ann on the back.

Ride Safe.
Rode the Oxley and the Gwydir today. Absolutely magic. The Oxley was the best and my favorite.
I have only just discovered this series of videos and I just love them! At 62 years of age, I'm often confused by all these high performance race bikes ridden so irresponsibly by young males (mostly). They haven't yet experienced the sheer joy of riding, which these videos depict so beautifully. It's just not cool to be dead before you're 30 folks, or seriously disabled from an avoidable motorcycle accident. Take time to smell the roses my young friends and ride safe. Mitch
I love how you shared those beautiful moments with the person you cherish the most. Thats how relationships should be.
Gratitude🙏😊
As a motorcyclist I absolutely love these videos 👌👌👌. They always describe (to Non motorcyclists) what it's like to own a bike and what feelings you get when riding on our favorite roads.
As usual for vids from Stories of Bike this immediately calms me down and resets my mood to longing for taking a ride. The people are always real special. I am from far away, Switzerland but once not long ago I was taking my first steps on Australia and really enjoyed the country and the people. To me it occured pretty laid back and the wildlife and landscapes were amazing. And this vid makes me thinking about coming back this year...and this time adventuring by bike. We'll see...
Anyway thanks a lot again for this !
Ride well and enjoy life, Cheers
Würk sehr schöns Video mit dere atemberaubende Landschaft😍
Aber mir hei hie ide Schwiz grad so gueti Strasse und Landschafte🔥s'einzig was mir nid hei isch d'Wiiti...
Gruess us Solothurn😅
This "roads we ride" is one of my favorite series on YT. Great for the days I wish I was riding!
Awesome pictures!!!!! You feel him riding by video and speaking!
That's what a dream looks like... I ride around 80 km per day... Everyday and I am blessed to be riding on a small island with amazing landscape.... Keep up the good videos. Cheers from Mauritius
I get excited when I see a new video from you. The production value is incredible, so well put together. These videos bring everything I love about motorbikes together; the bikes, the roads and the people. I just wish you could do more!
Thanks heaps Hendo. I would love to do more of these too, but there's a lot that goes into making a vid like this and I'm a big believer in quality over quantity, which kind of goes against what RUclips is about these days. Regardless, you'll be hopefully seeing more videos here really soon.
Beautiful scenery and stunning nature of Eucalypt and Rainforest indeed.
It's just been added to the list... superb.
Nice Video. You live in a awesome country. THX from Germany
Another Awesome video. Great taste in bikes Alex. Just rode it the other day. Thanks Cam and the team, again.
I rode the Oxley back in 1986 on a BMW K100 to the Long Flat Rally! Yes it has to be the best section of corners in Australia.
Great video, brought back memories rides of old, thanks.
Very nice , as a local Im so glad we have such a great road to ride!
Lovely, as always. Cheers.
Super gorgeous video. This video heals my heart and emotion. Thanks mate.
Thanks for that. It’s a dream I’m still looking forward to. The last couple of years my plans to ride the Oxley have been thwarted by the weather. But I will do it.
Im soooo glad we found each other...please ...never stop making videos .😍😍😍😍😍
Riding free your mind of attachments to focus all your senses in the present moment. It's a stress reliever, a soul awakening, a type of orgasmo...❤️🏍
This is poetry man!
I love the series n what inspires people to do what they love which is riding motorcycles........
I recently rode from Melbourne to Queensland and was sure to do the Oxley. Very glad I did, and did so with apppropriate caution. A fabulous place to ride, no matter where you're from, or where you're going.
What an absolutely beautiful video! Cheers!
I think we met when i was on my Ps (many years ago), and you just got this bike before embarking on a long ride with Ann. Right near wisemans ferry, glad your still on two wheels mate. Hope to cross paths again one day.
this is my favorite one of the last 3. Cuz this is how I picture me and my wife in 20-30 years from now
Yes, one of my favourites 😊 everything gets a bit timeless at one point or another on this road - riding bliss...
Yep on the list for the Guzzi! Drove it late one night a couple of months back in fog and a little rain in an old Landrover. I don't recommend doing that but for my wife and I it was a FANTASTIC drive and we loved every second. Be safe though it could bite hard.
sssoooo pretyy video!! thanks for sharing and yes, the road is a must do! Thank you for sharing.
Yes it's a good ride !
Finally!!! Thank you😍😍😍😍😘😘
Brilliant watch , ride safe and hello from Scotland 🏴🏴👍🏼
Great video, it’s certainly a magic road, I’ve ridden the Oxley since the 80’s and still do when I can aswell as thunderbolts way, we live in a lucky country
Looks like a beautiful, smooth deck. No potholes or repairs? Will be riding it in October for the first time … 🎉
Great video, thanks for sharing. Cheers
great road... and for me heading out from Sydney goes hand in hand with Thunderbolts Way... we are very lucky to have some awesome roads around the country... livin' the dream baby...
Wow these are outstanding videos. NSW has done a great job of promoting, and the learning about new roads and towns to go to. Well done. WA needs to get onto this. Cheers. And anyone here i have quite a few clips of Perth and WA rides too. Check out Doin a Digby.. ride safe all.

This is what riding is... in it’s true form

Gordin Warner can you please name that few.
@@fzlsalim On RUclips...'Stories of Bike' & 'Itchy Boots' and if you can find them...the 'Then Came Bronson' TV series, which aired in '69 and '70 I think.

Wow! Just read it's produced with Pipeburn!!!! One of my favorite bike sites!!! Fantastic
Love it
Best chanell
Should have 70 million subscribers.....
That would be pretty nice! :)
I love the footage, I love the production, I love the roads.... But please can we chill out a bit on the "Go Slow" message. We are riders: all good riders know when to roll off the throttle, but one of the reasons to ride is the exhilaration of speed, of the physics of the bike and feeling of flying that only a bike can bring. Australia has some of the most draconian speed laws applied with possibly the least understanding or acceptance of what actually causes accidents... Riders, being by nature a rebellious mob, are among the group of road users best aware of where real danger is, and it's not speed. If I could offer one advice, please get back to telling people whats good about these roads: the beauty, the freedom, the places they take us and why these great people ride and how they came to be in this place and time. Let us decide how fast or slow we wish to go, and let us accept our own risks in enjoying this beautiful place.
rickee I was thinking exactly the same thing.
not everyone who watches these videos have your experience or skill set. Rider safety is never an unwelcome thing in my book. I was also unaware that a video could control YOUR speed while riding. Might want to get that checked out!
I can see you standing, screaming and shouting at a speedsign "dont tell me what to do! I am a motorcyclist! I don't need you"
I'm not opposed to rider safety at all! I just wish that we could forget the fallacy that speed is the major factor in safety and concentrate on actually useful tips for newer riders. Things like: Adjust your speed so that you can always stop in the available space (rather than just "go slow") or, here is a good place with clear sight lines that on a fine day you can practise braking mid corner, or changing line, so that you know how to do it when a bend tightens, or there is an obstruction to avoid. Reducing your speed may give you more time to react to the unexpected, but if you don't teach yourself and train your reactions to be appropriate then you will still have an accident. That is the message which is muddied and buried by the governments simplistic "speed kills" campaign.
And no, the only you tube clip that has ever changed my riding was when I had been on my L's for a few months (I learned in England when you could ride for two years on L's after a one day training course before getting your full license) and I saw a video on active countersteering. After trying it out I found I could put the bike exactly where I needed it to be and could gain confidence in managing mid corner alterations in speed and direction. However, I do question EVERYTHING I'm ever told, a trait most find annoying so I can conclude that many do not, which is why the "speed kills" myth continues to enthral the majority of road users.
Rant over, buying a ticket over east because I do want to ride some decent twisties again, which are SO hard to find in Perth.
LOLs! Something like that. Although it usually prompts a rant into my lid that lasts a few km. I'm prone to ranting... :)

Where is the location of that timber bridge???
It's called the Kindee suspension bridge and is literally 100 meters off the Oxley Highway on Kindee Road, just west of Long Flat.
Thank you, gotta check it next time up there.
