    Oh WOW. I had a 59 Fairlane in high school in '64. Similar colors . Red and white. My part time job put me with a guy that had the Galaxie, red and white also. It was a mess so I took it and detailed it for him. An all day job.

    Speaking of Welder Series started by Paul Horton in Breslau Ontario. His son DW has now bought the business and Paul has retired. My 1930 model A roadster just happens to have the 3rd frame that Paul ever made and I am so happy to have it. I bought my 1941 Ford panel truck back in 1975. Paul opened in 1978 and I walked in and bought soft spring material from him. One of his first sales.

I had I believe every rig they made in 59 including a sunliner or starliner, just don't quite remember names so well anymore. I remember having most of their salmon pink cars tho. My real love of fords was the 57 fairlane two door hardtop.

    Yes folks send Lee your patterns even just a picture and he can cut you what you need on his plasma table for a very reasonable price. He’s made some hairpin braces for my T project. Could I have made them myself? Sure, if I spent the better part of a day since I would be using my crappy drill-press and an angle grinder. The time vs cost won out and I had Lee make them.

    I like this content where you're making a video about doing the pays the bills shop work. Looks like it is going to turn out very nice, and the majority of the modifications could all be easily reversed if such a perfectly original car gets sold and the buyer wants it back to original.

      So far the only thing that’s been cut is the shock mounts.

    Excellent video as usual Lee. One thing you didn't mention but i'm sure you will do, is adding an air line with a Schrader Valve, just in case you have a problem (mechanical or electrical) It could be mounted in the trunk or beside or behind the license plate in case of an emergency if the car has to be raised to be driven.

    • @LGKustoms

      We haven’t plumbed anything yet. The air ride itself will be another video.
      In the past though, I’ve always had a fill point, as well as a tank drain at the rear bumper.

    Great video! I have a quick question that is hardly related to this super cool project but any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. What brand magnets do you use to hold pieces in alignment? I have some of those triangular shaped magnets from amazon but they are too weak to keep things where you want them, and then some neodymium magnets that are crazy strong and will literally send you to the ER if you are not careful. Looks like you might have something in between. Thank you.

    I don't understand putting modern junk on these classic cars,,your missing the whole point of original components,,Those computer controlled suspension parts will be worn out in a year or two,,The original parts have lasted 60 years ,and are rebuildable ,unlike the cheap Chinese made airbags and computer,,just leave it as god intended ,,,,,,original .

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  Год назад +1

      Nothing on this car is original. It’s been restored. The suspension we took out was aftermarket reproduction springs, probably made overseas.
      Also, the way we installed the air ride, it can all be taken out put back to original. None of the original spring mounts have been removed.
      God may like his car’s original, but Jesus drives a lowrider!
