    Hei guys! I also bought this shoe too short! Then bought the shoe one size up! I've run in so many shoes.... Until now this is the fastest shoe I have used for trails!
    It's highly recommended as a race shoe. At least 5 out 6 stars. Ive got Tecton X 1, and 2. I've got Speedgoat Evo, I've got Salomon Pulsar, and so many more.. This is the fastest until now...
    Next shoe 👟 on the test line for me is the Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra! 🥳🔥🙌
    Super tip! Go one size up!!! This shoe flies....

    Yeah, gave it 80 miles of UTMB and then finally gave in and switched out. I really wanted it to work and had tried some mods in the 40 miles I had done before the race (got rid of the laces for some standard ones, switched out the insoles for Inov8's Boomerang (stock ones are shit and gave me blisters and I'm not prone to them)). Went a full size up too. However, the upper is just awful and nothing I could do to keep my foot from smashing into the front on anything steep. Laces so tight (with runners loop)I cut into my foot (through tape!).
    I think it's stable for a carbon shoe (unlike Endorphin Edge) and durability is relatively great (compared to Edge) and I did love the midsole (+Boomerang - without you can feel too much in the forefoot and sore feet if run on techy sharp/rock, etc) and outsole.
    I want to take the upper from the Endorphin Edge and merge it with this midsole/outsole. Then I would have a shoe I could use for something like UTMB.
    If you only run relatively flat stuff (coastal paths, etc) it's probably great. Unfortunately, I don't run any flat trails.

      Appreciate the input! Mega impressive you made it 80 miles at UTMB in this one. I don't think my feet would have been able even one major descent of that course.

    Most shoe reviewers are only running 25-40 miles (sometimes less) and then giving a "Full review"

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  11 месяцев назад +2

      We just don't think that's enough miles to give a full review, especially when talking about durability. We've already had multiple shoes that needed 40 miles just to break in! Thanks for watching!

    The comment you made about the foot being pushed to the medial side (11:15), I've had that issue with my SC Trainer 2 upper as well. Even though I land more heavily on my lateral side during foot strike, I would often find my big toe and the medial arch hanging off outside the footbed of the shoe like you described, no matter how hard I sinched the laces down. In all other shoes, I have issues with my pinky toe getting crushed against the lateral side of the upper, with the NB SC upper its the other way around. Thanks for the review!

      I've had it happen to me on some Asics road shoes as well. I think it's the shape of the shoe and the last that they are using more than anything. I can't pinpoint exactly what it is with the shape, but it is something my foot doesn't agree with! Thanks for watching!

    Always a good day to see your content appear on the You Tube! Hearing great things about the ASICS Fuji Speed 2, any thoughts or opinions on this shoe competing against the NIke trail super shoe.

    • @RowOfMushyTiT
      @RowOfMushyTiT 11 месяцев назад +1

      From reviews seems more suited to shorter distances, so not really competing.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  11 месяцев назад +2

      We're definitely hoping to get that Fuji Speed 2 in the studio soon! I'm a big fan of that FF blast + foam. I'm not sure I've ever actually seen an Asics trail shoe in a store, so tough to come by for sure. Thanks for watching!

      I think the Men's winner of the WMRA long trail (80km) champs was wearing the Fuji Speed 2 this year. Of course Stian could probably succeed in anything, so perhaps that's not the best example 😅

    Saw the negative review on these but running warehouse had them on sale for $100. that is just cheap enough to give it a try and see if it works for me. Main thing I know I will have to do is change the insoles. Y'all should check out the Summit Unknown v4.

      @@ConversationalPace Did 5 miles this morning in them. Kinda iffy on them but man, they do feel great on fire roads.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  10 месяцев назад

      Yeah the foam is phenomenal! I just hope they can figure out how to fix some of the stability issues in the next one

    • @alredalred
      @alredalred 10 месяцев назад

      @@ConversationalPace Definitely. Put a few more miles on them and I think if they would just widen the platform and increase the lug depth by 1mm or 2, it would solve a lot of problems I've had. Still great on super easy trails but on anything technical, it gets a bit rough after a while.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  10 месяцев назад

      I agree, I think the most important change they need to make is to make the platform a bit wider

    10:32 this is an ongoing issue for me with NB shoes. The very first cloud foam had this a decade (?) ago and mire recently the fuel cell propel v2. Great looking shoes, but can't even wear them as everyday sneakers. Too much style over substance imho. I'm done with NB.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  4 месяца назад +1

      Yeah such a bummer they weren't able to get the fit right on this one😭

  • @seanmac80

    Sounds one a shoe to pass on! The NB Fuelcell Summit V4 looks great though, and a lot less pricey than the SC Trail.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah that summit v4 should be a super fun shoe. Will be firmer and much lower feeling, but should also work better in general on trails. We did a review of the Summit v3 a while back, and the main difference between v3 and v4 was an upper update. Thanks for watching!

    • @Rich_GnXFit
      @Rich_GnXFit 10 месяцев назад

      I went with the Summit unknown V4 for the lower price. I love it. Great fuel cell, and none of the issues described here.

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  10 месяцев назад +2

      I'm hoping that this just being the first generation of the SC Trail, that's why it had so many problems. Summit Unknown has had more years of refinement, so definitely the more reliable choice right now.

  • @rmsrmsrmsrms

    Keep telling us which models don't work, thx. And medial collapse is the worst, I got alot of it in topo mtr3 & Summit Unknown 4 as well

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  11 месяцев назад

      I'm glad talking about the shoes that haven't worked for us is providing value! The medial collapse on a shoe is one of the few things that really is a deal breaker to me. I hope they are able to address this issue in the next version. Thanks for watching!

    Sooth- and truth-saying once again. SC Trail was a total fail for me. I was incredibly sad about this shoe. And worse - I couldn't even RUN in the damn thing. I put it on my foot, and I knew instantly that it wasn't going to work - too "just tight" in my usual size, but if I'd gone a half size up? It would have been too long. DAMMIT. Also, the drop? 10mm? Seriously? WHat is this? 1997? And on the trail? YIKES. Keep speaking your truth and your s**T when it comes to this. Also, those symbols? Reminds me of The Fifth Element (movie signs) check it out!

    • @ConversationalPace
      @ConversationalPace  11 месяцев назад +1

      I'd say it's been the biggest bummer of a shoe for me this year. On paper it just seemed so perfect! Hopefully they're already back at the drawing board righting some of the wrongs. Thanks for watching!

    • @ericperramond3463
      @ericperramond3463 11 месяцев назад

      easy fix would be take the Summit Unknown v4, spread the toebox, stick in a plastic plate (not carbon) and VOILA - Vibram or no, it would be a win.
