I live in BC near the mountains, a neighborhood Rottweiler paid the ultimate price protecting their yard last night...keep an eye out there and your trash inside.
Why is this news worthy? My cat scares off black bears all the time .. guess I should be calling it in. the bear showed no aggressive body language whatsoever. you didn't save the child from anything.
@@Spooky_515 it was looking for trash or scraps out of curiosity . Evidently you've never seen a wild animal in your life if you think thats aggresive or hunting body language
Luckily, the kid froze. The physical environment probably helped in stopping him from running too. That was a young black bear. He pranced at the kid, possibly to investigate as food. If the boy had run it would likely have triggered a prey attack response . However the bear was a bit confused as to how to proceed as the boy just stood in place.
This might even be the same bear that wouldn't leave our back yard a couple of weeks ago. This pretty much happened in our neighborhood. There was also a terrible accident in which a bear was hit by a car and had to be put down, and the cubs taken to a sanctuary.
Going towards the kid? It was in their neighborhood ! Lock up your garbage! They are getting ready for winter, hungry and idiots that don’t understand that we have the laziest conservation officers so that bear is dead! People should be fined for garbage left out! That bear had no interest in that child!
@@leecrumble3921 Well I live in Canada we have plenty black bear here and you can tell your story. However I beg to disagree... Bottom line I see black bears very often and no they do not kill people unless provoked. They choose to run away on most of occasions. If he wanted to eat kid, he wouldn`t run away just kill them both. A lie can pass for a good story only but so far
@magdalenasteplewski3963 Being lucky doesn't mean black bears don't kill humans. Ontario had a black bear kill humans In 2005,2019 and 2020. North America since 2000 has had 32 people killed by black bears. Bears should be running from humans, not running up to them.

I love how kids recover.. he just scoots away like a lil cutie 🥰

Stop building on their habitat!
That kid is lucky that wasn't a full grown bear and is probably only a few years old . Pretty smart neighbor to know how to scare off a small bear .

You are nuts. You think the bear was approaching the kid to share a Disney moment with him?

Very lucky. That bear is a danger and will become more dangerous as it ages.
Saved the child from what? The bear didn’t do anything lol 😂
Why would you attach grizzly bear footage to this?

Yeah he just wanted to tickle him. Maybe have a song and dance to
that was close…keep a close eye on your kiddos
Some Guard Bear that was. Gets scared off by a man, I hope that kid is alright and fought back against the man.
The husband didn’t save the child because the bear never did anything to the child.
Gosh! That guy is brave!
Oh no! I just moved to Port coquitlam with my kids
No women saying she would rather be near bear than a man in this one ehhh
And thanks to a quick thinking bystander..--

So what... this isn't even news.. pls produce better news.. or stop calling yourself news...
It not necessary had a bad intentions.
All it's doing is looking for food before it hibernates, if that kid would have ran away the bear would have made him dinner!

If the bear wasn’t doing anything, then why did he run when he got caught?!
He’s a menace!
NDP will not let straight men speak at their conferences absolutely hilarious definitely not the party for the working family
Oh you can speak but your last to speak!
Bears are curious!! These black bears don't hurt people if they are not protecting their own young. Just curious.
You don't know what you are talking about Black Bears kill people regularly. You are down playing the danger and these peoples tragic deaths.
Please learn about bear behaviours I loss a dear friend and also had bears encounters. Do not assume!

People who have been attacked by male black bears must have just imagined it… Or do you think male bears protect cubs?
