Honestly, Sega is a pretty cool videogame company. It's difficult to put into words, but it feels as if they always have their audience in mind. Of course every company tries to make their fans happy, but Sega feels different. I dunno how to describe it. They just seem very down to earth.

This game sounds like it's going to have a futuristic theme, or be technology based. *"Oh! Sad Emoji!",* *"Gamer Go Go!"* and *"Risk one/five gigabyte(s)!"* make some sense in that context, since I doubt they're actually going to make the game take up another 1 or 5 gigabytes if you get a game over. Maybe health is represented by... storage space...? And for some reason I imagine *"Retro Mode!"* as being some sort of time travel mechanic? Weird idea, I know. I've also never played a Monkey Ball game.

Nonono, it runs a specific patterns of commands that will permanently brick 1 gigabyte worth of storage on your hard drive/SSD, rendering it unusable. It's like in-game payments except you pay with your device's storage space instead of money. Also if you run out of storage space it bricks you instead.

I like this idea, I think it's very possible. For one it would bring in people with nostalgia, it would be good fan service and Sega has done things like that before, recreating different Sonic levels across different games
i randomly remembered super monkey ball 1 & 2 today and decided to look it up to see if anyone had talked about it on youtube. I’m so glad I did, not only have you two single handedly brought back a franchise from when I was a little kid but it’s such a heartwarming story. I haven’t played the games in more than a decade, i’m 20 years old now. This whole story is just insane to me. When i first played super monkey ball deluxe on the Xbox I was a little kid living in mexico, sinking hours upon hours into this game. I now live in canada, i’m in university & it’s just crazy to me how such a special game from my childhood is being brought back to life. It’s bringing me back such beautiful memories, thank you so much.

I think that the retro mode might be a "no jump" mode where you had the original controls but also maybe a "new" mode where you can jump so the new and returning can both play based on their skill sets.

Nonono, it runs a specific patterns of commands that will permanently brick 1 gigabyte worth of storage on your hard drive/SSD, rendering it unusable. It's like in-game payments except you pay with your device's storage space instead of money.
Also if you run out of storage space it bricks you instead.

i randomly remembered super monkey ball 1 & 2 today and decided to look it up to see if anyone had talked about it on youtube. I’m so glad I did, not only have you two single handedly brought back a franchise from when I was a little kid but it’s such a heartwarming story. I haven’t played the games in more than a decade, i’m 20 years old now.
This whole story is just insane to me.
When i first played super monkey ball deluxe on the Xbox I was a little kid living in mexico, sinking hours upon hours into this game. I now live in canada, i’m in university & it’s just crazy to me how such a special game from my childhood is being brought back to life.
It’s bringing me back such beautiful memories, thank you so much.
