With the degradation going on in science fiction and fantasy series/ movies I have gone starting to read more books.
I can really recommend it. There is a vast ocean of super imaginative original universes on offer in books. All without identity politics in there and much more creative and deeper than anything on offer on TV
Give it a try with Hyperion, Revelation Space, Children of Time, Stormlight Archive or Mistborn (last one if you want something big but easy to read) and you will be blown away.
As for Star Wars, cherish the memories of the old stuff. Rip off the band aid and accept it's dead.

This is the crime of all of _Disney Star Wars,_ that it takes everything we loved about Star Wars and corrupts it to such an extent that we question why we ever bothered to begin with.

A Jedi master got killed by a hand-thrown knife out of distraction, then soon after they tried to put out a fire on the outside of the ship whilst wearing sealed helmets due to the absence of oxygen in space...that was it for me, right on episode 1.

The whole twin thing qas made before, by Bioware on the game The Old Republic, but were two white humans, trains since they were almost able to walk, dispaching sith rogether, fighting along side each other. But, one brother was getting tired of being manipulated like a pawn, while thenother stayed loyal to their masters. Eventually the brother rebeled and accidently killed his twin, making him hate their jedi masters even more and effectively becoming a sith.
This story was made almost a decade ago, and the sole trailer was better than anything Disney has done so far.

Not a Star Wars fan at all really, but my heart goes to you who are lifelong friends. I have a buddy who was a diehard fan and granted, we're both middle-aged adults now, not like this stuff ruins our childhoods, but it is kinda sad because he enjoyed geeking out over Star Wars and when his kids talk to him about it, he has had to go into these masters thesis to help breakdown just how wrong everything went once Disney got ahold of the franchise. Just remember Star Wars fans, you're not alone; lot of our beloved media is getting gobbled up by the DEI monster; thrust into the hands of people that openly admit to hating the source material, but we'll always have those originals. I'm a Trekkie, and I simply ignore what Discovery and Strange New Worlds canons. I got a soft spot for Lower Decks though, even though Mariner can be grating at times.

The silver lining in being a YT viewer instead of an influencer: I don't have to subject myself to the dumpster fire that is Disney Star Wars, or anything made for the "modern audience".
We can be divided into three groups ('power of 3?).
One group does not watch the show.
The second does, and hates it.
The third group doesn't watch it, but enjoys checking out Star Wars enthusiasts hating it on social media.
I am happily ensconced in the third group. I value my time too much to watch, but I don't mind watching Snarky Jay pile scorn and snark on it. By all accounts, it's richly deserved.
Finally!! Thank you finally someone has said what I have been thinking all along. That woman has got to have some kind of huge dirt on someone at Disney for her to get Star Wars and run rampant with it unchecked.

The fact that Kathleen Kennedy still has a job after this is proof that Disney cares more about an agenda than they do about creating quality, reinforcing their brand, or actually making a return on their investment.

Star Wars rests in our memories and books of the 90s. Plus the prequels, which are light years way better than anything produced or written after Disney took over (our eternal "gratitude" for that, dear Mr. Lucas).
I'm surprised they hadn't fired Leslie but I'm guessing Disney is afraid that if they let her go then she would whine about it on social media making them look bad. But which would you rather have keep somebody on and have them waste millions of dollars on crappy Star Wars projects like this and destroying your company or let them go and hear them whine and cry on social media about how bad the company is and trying to cancel them and hire somebody that actually love Star Wars or Marvel and do actual background research on the lore and everything and create some good content making them more money?

The question is Star Wars for kids or Adults. I first seen and fell in love with Star Wars new hope as a 9 year old. I am a grown ass man now who has the mental capacity to understand that a product made for kids may not meet my adult expectations. I used to be one of those Gen x that use to shit on the prequels until my young nephew pointed out it is not made for me it is made for kids.

I have 3 kids I used to prop my kids down and they could watch Disney all day, my girls loved Frozen, Ariel, Belle, they still watch all the classics but they NEVER watch the newer stuff and now they are teenagers and STILL will watch the old stuff, they CHOOSE not to watch the new stuff they hate it. The problem is that Hollywood is hell bent on pandering to like 10k people that actually are into this LGBTQ crap or they are trying to groom kids so they can create a larger version of Epstein island and they will be ok with it is my guess because why kids shows have anything to do with sex is disturbing.

Along with cringe dialogue and "storytelling," all the clips I've seen from Not-Star Wars The Acolyte makes me think of one word . . . bleak.
I just started selling Star Wars stuff. Staring with the "Journey to the (sequels)" books. Next up are the Dr. Aphra comics and anything that is not the main Star Wars and Vader comics. Then sequel Black Series figures.
Star Wars probably has the single most content and lore to pull from to make amazing shows and movies but somehow they have killed all of my childhood Star Wars dreams for the future... really sucks.
