RARE Footage Of Marcus Dupree with the LA Rams 🐏
ruclips.net/video/hDiu9XwOXBQ/видео.html
Hershel is the greatest college football player EVER..
Bo was a freak with sick acceleration and elusiveness for such a huge back.
Marcus was a alien. I still can’t find the words to describe that monster…
On a complete side note: Cam Newton would like a word. With not a single player on that 2010
Squad making the NFL besides Newton…..Cam carried the whole school on his back all the way to a national championship. Something Bo nor Herschel can say. They all had amazing support on their teams. Cam? Not so much.
Dupree was on another planet..Bo and Herschel were there too...the era of the big backs...amazing men
Dupree was the greatest RB I've ever seen...Period!
I'll take Bo all day
Dupree maybe the greatest what if. Jackson just an unreal athlete. Hershel a great all around football player not unlike Roger Craig. Interestingly their receiving and rushing stats are strikingly similar yet Hershel is considered a disappointment by some.
Eric Dickerson was pretty sweet too.
Dupree was the best. Built like a tight end and fast like a receiver. Cold, ice cold... Smooth, big smooth...
Marcus Marcus Marcus...... had the potential to be one of if not THE best ever. Sad how it worked out for him.
You see the 30 for 30 on him. Incredibly sad story.
Out of all people, his pastor screwed him over. Shouldve finished out at OU and he would've become the greatest back of all time.
That Oklahoma head coach ruined Marcus Dupree. What was his name ? switchblade..switchinnigger switchhitter..something... he was/is a jealous creep.
@@stefanomagaddino6868 HE IS MORE HUMBLE, INTELLIGENT, CARING, AND TALENTED THAN ANYONE YOU KNOW. YOU ARE AN ASS CLOWN
@@Zionsol777 May be but you're an ASSHOLE. One who cannot take or understand criticism.
That freshman version Dupree is still the most amazing of them all...
mikem987 mind boggling future ahead of him it seemed.......
I don't know.Walkers freshman year he won a national championship and had 150 yards less and 1 touchdown more than the 1980 heisman winner as a senior..walker had 500 more rushing yards and 2 touchdowns more than marcus both on there freshman year .
987 did you know that Tim tebow didn't start his freshman year. So on sophomore year he ran for 1005 yards with 23 touchdowns and threw for 32 touchdowns. Yes accounted for running and throwing for 55 touchdowns and a heisman. Which sounds like a better year marcus at 1114 yards and 13 touchdowns and he didn't throw for any touchdowns. None or Tim throwing and running for 55 touchdowns. Your just not thinking about who's better
If marcus or walker just threw for 25 touchdowns along with there running touchdown I could say maybe your right but........
@randyjohnson6845 Marcus didn't start a game till about halfway through the season. Imagine if he decided to stay in shape he'd be the king of all running backs in college football. Plus he still has the Fiesta bowl rushing record and basically only played half the game
These players belong in the same video. These are the athletes we don't see today at this position...pure speed, acceleration, and power...attacking runners...authority. Really good job to put this together. Made me miss men playing football that way. Drop step blocking killed the NFL for me...
When Herschel hit the college scene it was literally mind blowing. For a player his size, 6 1 and 225, who could run that fast was just unheard of. Then, the graduating high school class of 1982 comes and there's two more guy's with that kind of size with speed to go with it. Bo wasn't quite that big coming out of high school though. He was around 210 215. But the story of that recruiting season was Dupree. 6 3 235 and had all the tools. I'm not sure what would of eventually happened if Dupree had stayed at OU, but man, it would of been great watching it. The 1982 recruiting class put out several awesome running backs who would play in the NFL. Bo, Dupree, Dalton Hilliard, Garry James, Reggie Dupard (those last three out of Louisiana alone). There were quite a few more, but those were off the top of my head.
Yea, my brother and I were distraught when we heard Marcus had left. Grew up poor in Oklahoma, and really the only thing to look forward to was football season, and that had a wet blanket thrown over it when he left..... they're looking pretty good this year though.... BOOMER SOONER
Damn that's a legendary class of RBs. I wish I was alive during that time
Also born in that 1961-63 window - Christian Okoye, 6'1" 265lbs, "The Nigerian Nightmare". 4.4 speed at 260lbs. But sadly, another career plagued by injury.

For some reason this is like my favorite sports highlight video. Always come back every once in awhile.
That's awesome, Agreed.
Dupree was almost 30-40 pounds overweight in these highlights, and no one could catch him. Just imagine
All of these guys are phenominal but when I watch the video Bo stands out to me as having the most acceleration and explosiveness. Herschel looks like the hardest to bring down, and Dupree looks the most fluid.
True, very good eye! True story though, Dupree was as fast as he had to be. One day in practice he outran a former Texas State High School sprint champion named James Lee who had the angle on him, 80yd TD! Dupree was deceptively quick and fast.
Marcus was a track man, he liked the 100 and had a higher yard average than anyone in college football as a RB. I believe he would have ran the 100 as a pro if he wasn't forced to be a football player! He(Marcus) also (i think ) had a higher yards average per game than anyone too. I think.
Herschel was also a “track man”. Let’s not forget that he beat Carl Lewis and several other of ‘the world’s fastest men’ at track meets.
@@GoEqBro All three were amazing track athletes lol
That's who Christian McCaffrey runs like...a smaller Marcus dupree😮😮😮
Dupree was a freshman in most of these runs... I will take dupree
Around 3:45 just love it! Bo carries PrimeTime 10yds then stiffs him down at the 5, to stroll in for the Touch...that's Hall of Fame right there!
"He put his hand on me like he was praying for me" -Deion Sanders referring to Bo Jackson
What was so amazing about them was there ability to run away from defenders even after they met contact.
The 3 runners who best personified incredible breakaway speed combined with lean size and pure explosive power to unleash on tacklers.
Marcus Dupree wa the most gifted back ever
Dupree was Mr. Scamper! He had the prettiest foot action after a touchdown!
I can’t choose. All three are just sick.
Bo Jackson was the best , hands down. God given talent that Bo tried to share with all of us in baseball and football simultaneously....mind boggling. Thanks Bo !
Video missing 6-3,220 4.3 40 Eric Dickerson. In 1982 all 4 were playing college ball.Great era of the big fast tailback.
'80-'81 George Rogers as well.
Yeah, Eric should had been included.
Yes, Dickerson went on to have the single best rushing year in NFL history.
Dickerson wasn’t as fast or strong these 3. He was fast, but these 3 had their own level above everyone else.
@@DaGr8Depression watch his SMU highlights.. was a beast!
Jim Brown RIP paved the way for all these big fast RBs in the '60s.
All 3 of them were like men against boys on this level.
It was amazing watching Dupree at oklahoma in 82!
5:42 man Dupree could push that button. That TURBO BOOST button.
I had to keep rewinding to see if the field markers were going by 5sor something. He went from the 30 to the 40 yard line in literally 2 steps
1:45 best run in college football history...vs. SC in 1980, the showdown vs. heisman candidate George Rodgers...Herschel hit a previously unknown gear down that sideline...3 players had angles on him and no one could touch him
That was some crazy speed 💨
Bo did that like 3 times in this video
The "GOLDEN AGE" of the BIG rb! Awesome playmakers!
Bo has the fastest run I've ever seen in football when he was playing against Seattle in the NFL, looked not human.
Marcus Dupree set Fiesta Bowl record in one half. He rushed for 239 yards on 17 carries against an Arizona State team that had the number defense in the nation at the time.... It happened New Years Day back in 1983....He was truly amazing...BOOMER...
I remember that quite well. Sadly he was injured in 2nd half and basically was the beginning of the end.
Dupree could've been the geeatest...
Michael Thomas
I totally agree!
you need your grammar checked
Man oh man! What could’ve been with those 3 RBs in the NFL barring injuries, Baseball, and the USFL. All 3 were damn Beasts! It was nuts watching those guys play college ball back the in the day.
Yep - no targeting calls back then etc.
Watching Marcus was like watch Earl Campbell with 4.3 40 speed.
well campbell had 4.4 early in his career
Dupree had to be faster than 4.3. As crazy as it seems, He looks faster than Bo in some of his runs
These guys hit the hole SOOOOOO HARD! Literally at full speed at the line of scrimmage on inside runs. It’s almost unbelievable until you watch this
I agree all these guys are great...but man I know Bo was fast but look at how much bigger Dupree was with that speed and power..Insane.
Facts!!!
Bo was the shiftiest, Herschel most powerful, and Marcus fastest. I remember watching these guys when I was young (don't forget Earl Campbell!) and it was something else indeed. Bo was from the same area I grew up in. We haven't seen backs like these since the 80's. True Supermen carrying the pigskin!
Adrian Peterson ring a bell
Bo is the best out of the three
I think so too. Bo was quicker than Herschel and can change directions better. Herschel had the best straight away speed of the 3 and Dupree was the slowest, though 10.4-10.5 100m still world class.
Dupree was a man amongst boys, no doubt the best runner I've ever seen.
Eric Dickerson was apart of the era of big fast RBs in college.
The recruiting year of 1982 was filled with very good runningbacks. Both Jackson and Dupree were in that class, along with a few others who made it to the NFL. Dalton Hilliard, Garry James, Reggie Dupard, Spencer Tillman, Doug Dubose, Alan Pinket. I'm sure there are more, regardless, there were many RB's in that class who went on to play in the NFL. The cream of the crop was Dupree.
Must have been a treat to actually see these guys play on Saturdays.
No doubt ever in my mind that Dupree would have be the greatest running back ever if it wasn't for those injuries 😩
Facts!!!
I love this video so much
#22 best running back of all
CraftyGirl 87 yep
Three great big running backs freaks of nature with world class speed and this is in the early 80s...Wow
Dupree had 235 yards in one half in the Fiesta Bowl..Record still stands..If he played all 4 quarters in would have been an easy 500+ yard day..LOLOL
Antwan McAfee
I watched it live. Dupree came in heavy for that game and had some type of injury. He still went off! Of all the RBs I’ve ever seen, he passed the eye test more than anybody.
MY 1st OF 3 favorite football players...Shout Out 2 BO... AINT NO OTHER LIKE U BIG HOMIE...A PURE LEGEND!!!
Amazing talent. I remember sitting in the stands at UT and Herschel's first appearance. I followed recruiting and knew about him but Ga. didn't put him in until later in the 1st or 2nd quarter. But that first TD and we knew this guy was unique, Bo seems to get more out plays that just don't look like it's developing well, but his quickness and speed make the play. Marcus uses his speed more. Bo, his quickness and Herschel just runs over you better!
Amazing video.
All three of these guys had breakaway speed. But Herschel was the the most powerful runner.
That's hard to say. All 3 could run over anybody.
The most powerful was definitely Dupree. He was the biggest and the strongest. They say he used to run guys over with a hurt knee
josh potts I admit dupree was bigger, but Walker was running guys over with his shoulder being put back in place.
Yeah Walker was definitely the toughest. He would do like 3000 push ups every morning. They say Dupree could bench way more than Walker though
josh potts one thing that shocks me is all three of these backs were major in college, but they did not have the same impact in the NFL. I know Jackson made a small impact before his knee or his hip went out. Then Walker made it, but not a major impact. And Dupree, after watching the 30 for 30, act as if he was scared of the big time.
If I could only pick one it would be Marcus Dupree , the absolute best running back of his time.
Injuries ended his career early, just like Bo’s career ended because of injuries also.
It was an amazing time for running backs, never to be duplicated again.
Very well done love the video
2:37 *Agility Power Pure Speed*
One of the most impressive runs I’ve ever seen from a big RB….especially the initial portion where he jukes the defender.
It seems to me Bo Jackson had a gear no one else had, the breakaway gear. And with Marcus Dupree it was as if he said "out here in the open field only a lineman has what it takes to slow me down and I don't expect to see any linemen in the secondary in front of me."
Marcus was bigger than both 6'3 240 and he had a faster 100 time(9.5), he was like a freight train, once you get him started it was hard to stop him!
Herschal Walker- Most violent runner of all time
Bo jackson- maybe the most explosive, most productive career of the three
Marcus Dupree- Most rare breed running back of all time, had the most POTENTIAL of anybody out there
Herschal Walker ran differently before he hurt his shoulder. After that he ran more tentatively.
Mason Hazelwood Dupree was the best. Smooth, big smooth!
Mason Hazelwood Dupree was lazy. Could never stay in shape.Sometimes looked unmotivated. But probably had the most potential. What could have been.Bo Jackson had durability problems when he played in the N.F.L.Maybe because he never went through a NFL training camp could have been the problem. If he hsd stayed healthy who knows how good he could have been.As for Herschel, always kept himself in tip top shape. Never really got injured while in the NFL.Wasn't as fluid as the other two guys.Ran a little too high and stiff, but in actuality had a pretty good professional career in the USFL and the NFL. All in all 3 great college players.
Mason Hazelwood ill take dupree ahead of bo and walker ...he played for a coach that took time to fuck his head up ....when he scored he told the team not to run to the endzone and celebrate with him ....barry is a piece
Walker...most violent runner of all time? It's like Earl Campbell never happened.
Love the song
Great video
Bo was best Athlete hands down
There has never been a football player that could accelerate like Bo Jackson. He’s in a league of his own as an athlete
Never knew this video existed,
these boys could run it 👍🏾✊🏾💪🏾
Barry Switzer said there were only two people that he saw that could play in the NFL out of high school. They were Earl Campbell and Marcus Dupree. ..
Jerome Bettis
out of the three of them though marcus has a really relaxed running style
That Herschel run at 1:47 might be the most impressive run I’ve ever seen all 3 dbs had an angle on him and he just runs straight past them like they weren’t even there
RODlovesCompeting TV you have to hear the Ga play by play announcer Larry Muncin call that play
Marcus Dupree probably ran a 10.5 not 9.5 as a recruit benched 400 10 times for Lucious Selmon. Marcus weighed 200 in August 240 on New years day. Thats why Switzer criticized him but Marcus had minor injuries that hampered him late in the season.
People questioned his heart but they didn't have a clue. When a man at 20 is injured in a pro league after his time at Oklahoma then 5 years later shows up at his agents door weighing 228 and wanting a shot at the NFL. Marcus lived his NFL dream for a season or 2 so the man had a huge heart to overcome what he did.
Even though there was disappointment for Sooners fans he only played 15 or so games what he did in that short period of time will always warrant respect and Marcus will always be loved by the Sooner Nation.
Did you read Barrys book ? . Dupree had a bad voice over his shoulder .
Plus , Switzer admits to not handling t:he situattion properly.
I just love it when people try to psycho analyze a person, they have never met before, but feel highly qualified to make such grandiose statements about such persons. I do not personally know Marcus Dupree. Therefore, I will simply say this about the man.........
He was an outstanding athlete, whose time came and went. Now he serves a greater calling by helping others and that is what I believe makes him a great human being.🏈
Well said 👍 he ran 4 Reggie not fame
I could watch this shit all day, beats are thumpin as well
Bo was ALSO a MLB all-star....so there's that.
Marcus didn't love playing football. What happened after the Nebraska game in his freshman year reflects that. If you haven't, watch his ESPN 30 for 30. Bo and Herschel did love playing sports and had much better careers. By the way, add Eric Dickerson to this group during the era.
He got burned out from all the attention. By my senior year I had little joy in sports anymore and just went through the motions. I wasn't recruited at all and can only imagine what he went through. These kids are pushed way too hard now of days and that's a shame to me
I’m truly amazed to think even with all 3 of their talent, they all really never scratched the true surface of their superpowers as running backs; circumstances and how life plays out is something else. U you were to tell me 1 of these 3 backs wouldnt have panned out in the NFL Id think u were smoking rocks...
Best RB’s my favs
Herschel was the man in my senior year of high school 🥇82’
Watching these three manbeasts casually running over and away from other top athletes never gets old lol
Dayum. Who do you go with? Not to forget that Marcus Allen and Eric Dickerson was playing college ball around this time too.
In the same era too!!
Bo probably had the most agility, his ability to stop start and change directions is amazing for someone of that size. Walker and dupree would walk straight over the defenders, bo could too but made more of an effort to get round them
Idk, do y'all notice when Bo hits it you have to check to make sure the speed isn't bumped up to 4x?
Marcus time was a 9.5s 100yds, that equates to roughly a 10.3 in the 100 m.
That’s what I thought. Clearly the guy could run, but when I look at these clips, with the best will in the world, I’m not seeing a guy who could run with Usain Bolt.
Marcus Dupree such a sad ending for a great running back who never made it to the pros but damn he would of ranked with the best
All this thanks to that scumbag switzer
Bo still has the fastest 40 yard dash ever recorded and is one of three running backs to have runs of 90 yards or more in the NFL and he did that really in 1.5 seasons.
Scooter McGee has the fastest 40 time ever recorded... 2.74 seconds. Fastest White Boy this side the Mississippi.
Bo the best out this bunch
Did you make that appointment with the psychiatrist yet?
Cool video ... You should do Chris ivory or shonn greene highlights
These three, Earl and Eric comprise the laminated list of RB's that could have gone from high school to the NFL.
The best ever
Defender : " Ref you got in the way " !
Ref : " Well you should have tackied me,
because you were not about to catch him "
3 PAUL BUNYAN’S IF YOU ASK ME 🔥
Dupree was 6'3 230-240 pounds with blazing speed in the early 80's.. Barry Switzer thought he was a tight end!! LOLOL
Dupree was actually around 215-220 during the time in these clips.
Chomp pig
No he wasn't. He was 235-240. He is in the same Sooner forum I am in and have seen this question asked of him many times, plus what Barry Switzer has said as well. He was never 215-220 in College.
With those 3 Brother's on your team, Show is Over!!!
3 best darn college fb players ever......holy cowwwww
I agree if u include barry
5:00 HW... that was amazing
Herschel took off flying
then changed his mind in the air
and decided " naw I'll run it in 😆
How "sweet "number 34 can be. The greatest.
a 9.5 100-meter would've been the worlds faster 100 meter.. Usain Bolt had a 9.58
imagine usain volt getting met by Ray Lewis in his prime though! it's OVER!
for ray lewis jk
It's a 9.5 100 yard dash
No no, it clearly says 100 meter. Not yards lol:)
A 9.5 100 yd time for someone that big is fukn scary fast.
Herschel could have been an Olympic high jumper. My God he could fly over a pile.
marcus dupree is freshman in these
all men amongst boys
I was 10 years old in 1983, and thought it was normal for a RB to be 6'2 230 lbs., and run a 4.3 or less. Little did I know it was just a special era for gifted athletes at the RB position. Eric Dickerson was 6'3 220 and ran like a deer. Incredible group of RB's.
If Dupree had walkers work ethic he would have been unstoppable and set all the records with the right team
According to Switzer , Dupree had a bad voice that was constantly over his shoulder .
I saw all three run in college and the pro level. Dupree and Herschel started in the USFL. Walker had the heart of lion 🦁. If I were going to start a team , I would pick BO. The short time he played in the NFL , he was the most feared rusher at that time, just ask the Cincinnati Bengals DBs 😂😂and Bosworth😂
Marcus Dupree was the best of all 3...size, power, speed, just a freak.
SUPERMAN ON A FOOTBALL FIELD.....3 of them.
Bo was pure speed. Dupree was power. Walker was both. Hard to choose one of those three, but as a Raider fan, gotta go with Bo.
Dupree ran 4.29 in high school.
Marcus was the best of the bunch
