    I’m an east coaster and visited Moab for the first time last year. Since we were totally new to the area, we started out easy and progressed from there. We did:
    1. Hurrah Pass/Jackson Hole/Chicken Corners
    2. Practiced on the “Baby Lions Back”
    3. Fins n’ Things
    4. Hell’s Revenge
    In that order. Worked well for us.
    On our final day, we rented a Jeep and went off the beaten path in Arches National Park and out to the Monitor & Merrimack, etc.
    We’ll have to catch Poison Spider on the next trip.

    Enjoyed your video. Moab is one of my favorite places in Utah.

      You and everyone else. It's tough to beat. We visited Death Valley and Zion this year before making our way over to Moab. Once there, I recall thinking that although those other places are epic too, there is just something unique and special about Moab. We have been there 6 times and counting.

    Great video content and quality videography.
    Where was the shot taken at 0:28? Was it Rt. 128 or down 279? Nice high vantage point.
    H. Revenge is great. I drove it last year in a rented UTV. I stick to the main trail- that is challenging enough for me. Fins is fun. I really like Chicken Corners; the first 15 minutes of Kane Creek; and Shafer and Long Canyon. Never did Behind the Rocks. It's a bit beyond my skill level. Would never attempt this 3:30 in a rented $25k machine. A simple roll-over would be very expensive and dangerous. The Tip Toe section looked pretty cool. Poison Spider looks fun but again, too extreme for me. I also suffered a mTBI a few years back so I take extra care not to whack my head again. It's been rough- but I still get out there. Just gave up 2 wheels for 4 w/a seatbelt, helmet and roll cage! I still get to explore beautiful MOAB.
    You are all very skilled drivers. Stay safe! Never trust the E-brake. Expect the unexpected out there. We were there when those two guys died last year. They were parked on a steep section of the Moab Rim Jeep Trail. The brake failed and they rolled backwards and off the Rim. Never underestimate gravity. Whether a Jeep or a UTV, once it starts rolling or tipping, you will not stop it.

    "Stock vehicle capable". I have been going to Moab for almost 10 years. While a stock UTV can do some of these in perfect conditions with a skilled driver and spotter, I would not recommend just rent and go for the everyday guy. I have done almost all of the extreme rated trails, and Moab Rim, Top of the World, and Rusty Nail are my tops. Where Eagles Dare will scare your pants off when your wheels lift 1/2 way up!

      I completely agree. Almost got in trouble on H. Revenge last year in a stock UTV- heading up to the hot tubs it got real steep and I almost rolled over backwards. I was on the main trail. I should have deviated around to the side where it was less steep.

    Exactly why I will never again visit Moab on a dirt bike. It's been ruined by these SxS.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT Год назад +1

      Your loss. Did you have an accident or something? IMO, there is plenty of good riding. Just watch those blind single track turns. Lot's of good riding still in Mill Canyon and nearly all of Kane Creek. UTV's can't run the second half of that trail. I barely made it on a KTM.

    • @rz350yam
      @rz350yam Год назад +1

      @@MOAB-UT I've ridden there for nearly 20 years. Years ago, there were no SxS, just jeeps and quads to look out for. I've run Kane Creek many, many times. But, it was most fun back in the day when we could do it probably too fast, without much worry of a head-on collision. Not so with the SxS crowd today. I find most of the SxS crowd to not be that experienced, they get themselves into precarious situations, way beyond their experience levels, and that ends up ruining the experience for everyone. My group has rescued them on trails like Rusty Nail, where the SxS operator had no business being. I can ride other areas in that part of UT, and not have to put up with SxS idiots.

      @@rz350yam I think you are being a bit rough on people. They have a right to run those trails too. You don't like it so simply go somewhere else. As you said, you ride too fast anyway. Maybe slow down. Be more careful around blind turns for sure. You have had 20 years to enjoy the place mostly to yourself. Now it's their turn. Adapt or go elsewhere. It's a big area, plenty of places to ride.
