The layoffs have been crazy. Lots of animators I knew at Pixar are being laid off. Many of them were in my internship group in Summer 2019 when I worked there.
It’s wild I’ve been reached out to by a few animators and I’m like wait what!!! You’re looking for work!?! That’s impossible!!! Shame to see very talented people unable to find jobs
@@YorkReacts I still think many companies are trying to implement Ay-Eye technology to replace artists. I'm job searching myself right now. I'm applying to game and animation companies.
Heard one of the layoffs even included the woman who literally saved toy story 2 Such a shame It's a shame for anyone to get layed off but her in Particular feels, not right
Its saddens me that this is happening. I looked up exactly why. It’s basically cancelling stuff related to Disney+. I just hope everyone that were layoff will find a new gig soon.
@YorkReacts It's all good, bro. By the way. Toy Story was the sht. I remember seeing part 1 in the movie theaters, and when we got out, my family and I all went to Burger King, and I got a Woody Toy Doll lol. I wanna say I was 11 years old. You and I are the same age, so you know how long ago that was, lol. Good times
Id be interested to hear your thoughts on games getting cancelled sometime. I'm still heartbroken over the last of us multiplayer getting cancelled and now the division heartland, wth.
im wondering that eventually ai enabled cgi will start replacing animators in general, seems that may be the direction for actors also. and other traditionally safe fields. everyone learn a trade quick 😄
I doubt it. Ai as it currently is doesn't allow specific control or nuance of what you're working on. It's being oversold as some magic genie that can do anything.
@@YorkReacts I agree with everything you say, my point comes from everything raised in a similar video by another RUclipsr, for full context check out the video “the animation industry in COLLAPSING by No the Robot” it’s a must watch and a very good explanation on why funds are leaving the industry, hence my comment of things getting cheaper from a financiers perspective (not the artist unfortunately) I coined this process “cheapification” and that the context behind my comment, keep up the vids, your video was a great watch, be sure to check out the one I mentioned.

Meanwhile Disney keeps raising prices on everything.

Umm there is a video somewhere where I talk about that in brief but maybe good idea to make a video in just that topic
