      I’m 5’8”. Tried like hell to play basketball 6/7 grade. I sucked and gave up. Never followed it after. When the Bulls dynasty came along and the news was going insane over Jordan, I tuned in. Watched the next four seasons. MJ truly THE GOAT. However, I enjoyed everyone else equally. Rodman, well damn, under the net? Rebounds? THE GOAT. Seriously the entire damn team was humming and MJ was the Sun. After that? Really never watched again.

I don't know how long the term has been used for "flying" but Julius Erving or Dr.J was Michael Jordan before Mike was Micheal Jordan. People like you forget that the NBA existed before Jordan & that there were other great players before him. Michael plays in Dr. J's style & even payed homage to him when he dunked it from the free throw line during a slam dunk contest.

But, the but the playing style of a lot of players is from players mimicking Jordan. Bird and Magic were not known for their acrobatic dunks or their overall athleticism. Jordan bought out the Grant Hills, McGradys, Vince Carters, Penny Hardaways and Kobe Bryants... What does Magic and Bird have to do with the acrobatic style of today's players. Bird's style brought out players like, Reggie Miller and Glenn Rice.

    I’m a Pistons fan and loathed the Bulls at the height of Pistons-Bulls rivalry in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
    That said, MJ is the best ever. What separates him from the contenders for the best was his ability in the clutch and leading great teams expected to win it all, and then actually winning it all. There is great pressure when you’re expected to win and he never fell short. Glad I was able to see much of his career. The NBA was phenomenal in that era.

      Can you be honest with me ? Do you think your a good person? Yes ? How many lies have you told in your life, have you stolen something, even if it’s little ? Have you ever used Gods name in vain ? Jesus said whoever looks at a women to lust for her has committed adultery with her in his heart, have you look with lust? I’m sure we have broken these commandments. So by your own admission via your conscious you have admitted to being a lying thieving blasphemous adulterer at heart do you still think your a good person ? You have to stand before God on judgment day, now if He judges you by those Ten Commandments do you think you’ll be innocent or guilty? Sin is so serious to God that He gives us capital punishment, death for our sins. The Bible says for the wages of sin is death, we earn death because we sin against God. But God provided a way out of hell. God "Jesus" in the flesh lived a perfect sinless life and paid our fine we owed God from our sins by suffering and dying on the cross. And on the third day He rose from the grave and defeated death, it was impossible that death could hold Him. And if you want to be saved you must repent of all your sins "which means turn from them"and not live a hypocritical life which means you say, I'm a Christian but still lie, steal and fornicate, and you must trust alone in Jesus not in good works or you being a good person and the Bible says God will give you everlasting life. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9 . Love you bro, please think about your eternity. The Bible says the day of salvation is today so please leave your sin and turn to God.

    I'll forever be grateful that as a child I got to see Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Mitch Richmond, Chris Webber, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and hundreds of other NBA legends LIVE since my grandmother worked at Arco Arena (where the Sacramento Kings used to play) and we got season tickets from 1986 when I was only 3 years old all the way until 2005 when they retired. I've been to thousands of NBA games and at the time I almost took it for granted. Those were some very fun times! Kings sucked for 95% of those years but it was still a blast attending all those games! Especially in the early 2000s when Sacramento became a powerhouse that dominated the NBA and would've won the NBA finals had that scandal involving NBA refs not happened during the Kings/Lakers Western Conference Finals in 2003. I still think it's ridiculous how the NBA swept that shit under the rug as if it never happened. I lost so much respect for the NBA because of that and really don't bother watching it anymore. Such a shame!

    Such a beast. No better time in history to watch NBA. They were actually competitive and tried their hardest to win games during this era. Now they only play to entertain and then start actually trying to win and caring about the game during the playoffs and finals. College basketball is so much more entertaining and competitive in my opinion. It has an intensity that you just don’t get from professional basketball

      Competitive, yet the dude just let's him have the tip... hahaha

    • @purehell5010
      @purehell5010 3 года назад

      @@tlinscents so you don’t think it was a competitive era? With many stacked teams and legends and people who actually played defense and would shut people down or try their hardest to not let them score.. if you drove in to do that like MJ just did and there was defenders in the paint, they would have went up with him and fouled the shit out of him if they couldn’t make a good defensive play on the ball and get a block or something. Nothing was free. You had teams like Detroit who were going out there and making players bleed every single night, teams feared playing them even if they could win they knew they would get beaten up pretty good while doing it and scoring was not gonna be easy.. in the NBA today no one plays defense

    • @purehell5010
      @purehell5010 3 года назад

      @@tlinscents no one in the NBA plays defense anymore and it’s changed the game completely, where we used to see better defense and people driving in the lane, making a play, drawing the foul, or going for a lay up/dunk, now we see people taking 3 point shot after 3 point shot all night. It’s made the games a lot higher point games because it’s easier to score. For example: look at all the players that come to the NBA from foreign pro leagues. And players that go from the NBA to playing over seas pro leagues.. you can tell a difference in their game and their stats back it up. Even Doncic has a quote I’ve seen that pretty much says that it’s much easier to score in the NBA compared to playing in other leagues due to the defense still playing a huge role in the game and not so much in modern NBA. It’s totally changed the game and the players. Before you used to have big guys down low who would post up, use the body and make space, use some pivot action, and go up strong or throw up a little fading one handed hook shot or something, you would never see them shooting threes or even playing on the perimeter unless the shot clock was about to expire.. now a days you have these super tall athletes that have the same s height, but instead of being more one dimensional and playing post only, these big guys now a days have developed their ball handling skills to that of a point guard, can shoot the 3 all day and have accuracy. Like Doncic and Giannis and many many more in the league. The lack of defense and over all competitiveness has changed the culture and the overall game itself in how it’s played and how fundamental are taught and implemented

    Years before this game, we used this play often in high school. I had really good hops for a 6' white guard and got a lot of tie ups and jump balls (era before alternate possession rule). Whenever I was matched against a taller guy or one who assumed he could outjump a white guy, we'd call the play. My other guard would break downcourt on the toss and I'd spike it to him for an uncontested layup. We did it three times against the same team one game and they never adjusted... all-black team from the hood and they never adjusted to it. Few years later I ran into a player from that team and he told me they refused to defend the play because they didn't want to acknowledge a white guy could outjump any of them. They'd rather give up the layup. Too funny. My other guard and I learned the play as freshman playing JV at another school before transferring. He was short, chubby, and we found out his nickname playing high school ball had been Cupcakes (sweet tooth), so after transferring that was our play call... cupcakes.
