Good idea! I bought the original clip from Toyota parts for 2 bucks. It takes a week or so to arrive at local dealer. The 7 dollar after market clip didn’t work. Your solution is better when waiting for original part.
Guess my car's too old, can't find the spring for it in local car shops. Can find it in online stores for less than a dollar.. but then added on close to $20 shipping. I'll gladly use this clip approach.
👏👏👍 nice little fix, thnx 4 sharing
Fantastic
Thank you very much

Those springs break over time. You can buy a replacement at the dealer or on EBay around eight dollars , but I like your solution.
The plastic housing that holds the spring broke. I still had the spring, just no way to keep it in place.
Awesome - Simple effective Idea. Brilliant.
Thanks. I needed that!
Really good hole lots cheaper than dealerships
Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Genius

Genius!
Thank
you very much.
nice, thats a smart way to fix it fast
By the way, I live in a trailer park. Chip clips and beer cozies are prevalent....lol
All you have to do is spray with wd40. Spray the spring and it will stay shut. I did this years ago and I have not had the issue.
I'm gonna go buy a clip rn lol
Where can I get a head cam like that?
A fuel door spring costs less than $5 at Autozone. You might want to get one.
Unfortunately the plastic housing that holds the spring broke so I was looking at replacing the entire cover.
