    *** Why Hunt Hogs? ***
    Our journey into wild/feral hog hunting started like many others living in rural communities. We didn't start hog hunting for fun or sport... we did it because we had to. You see, hogs cause millions of dollars of damage and destruction each year in rural communities and our situation was no different. Hogs were destroying our land and that out of friends and family. The vast majority of hunting stories that you hear about on this channel are hogs, boars and sows, taken from family land... this problem is personal for us...
    __________________________________________________
    *** Why Hunt Coyotes and Predators? ***
    Coyotes and Predators, similar to hogs, cause financial stress for many families in rural communities. Coyotes kill livestock, plain and simple. Ranchers have battled coyotes killing cattle since the early days of ranching and it costs them dearly. Cattle ranching is a business, the cows aren't pets, every time they lose a calf to a coyote those families lose a paycheck. Cattle ranchers hate coyotes just as much as Farmers hate hogs! We hunt coyotes to protect the livelihood of our friends and neighbors that depend on their cattle business to feed their family...

    So for a guy hunting coyotes out west at longer ranges a 640 unit with a 3.5 base mag is a better option?

    So, if you increase magnification from 1.75x to 3.5x and beyond, you are decreasing the resolution- I understand that. To compare that to other scopes, does this mean that with an IRay Bolt 640 at a base mag of 3.5, you would have a full 640 resolution?

    • @HansETX
      @HansETX  11 месяцев назад +2

      That is correct, and 3.5x is typically best for hunters whose average shot is close to 200 yards and beyond.

    Have the XP50 Pro2 LRF. 22CM shooter. I want a better image on coyotes from 500 yards out to 800.
    You need a base mag at 3.0. So I cut in half at 6 power. Me and two buddies have are names on units coming to vendor on Monday. I’m on the fence. I kill alot. Majority I kill are 250 and in. My old Flir 536 handles that very well in base mag of 4. I’m speaking for alot of dudes in the coyote world. We want cleaner magnification with our custom rigs to hit 500-800 yards. I think I’m going to hold off and or go to a EoTech clip on all together.

    Why do the higher resolution scopes have such low base magnification? Seams like no advantage over a 640res with 3 or 4 base magnification. Right?

    How does this Pulsar 1024 HD thermal compare to the iRay Rico Pro (optical zoom 1.5 to 3)?

    • @jameskozlowski5496
      @jameskozlowski5496 11 месяцев назад +2

      Good question. At close range the higher resolution of 1024 vs 640 is not gonna kill more or identify more game. As well as when you go to optical 3x at 640 resolution the picture will be equal or better then the 1024 resolution at 3.5x at 512 resolution. For me it's a non starter at 1.75x. The 3x optical at 640 wins all day long with the ability to go down to 1.5x at close range. And the rico pro is $1500 dollars cheaper. The Rico doesn't come with the laser range finder but that's an option down the road.

    Not sure why you they did not have magnification up 20-24x.
    They can make tube style shorter but they don't. With that being said the other scope Talion is superior or I should say should be their Superior scope. But this is their marketing direction to get the most money out of all off us. haha

    But I feel like 8k is still fucking us , let’s be honest
    But you gotta pay to play
    I just wish these manufactures would back there product with a lifetime warranty like hunting glass , put your mouth where our money is going , earn your customer base ‘s trust by backing your product

    Why just not say the real story - lens of 50 mm with 1024 ipo a 640 only gives a wider fov - so lower base mag. 1.75 ipo XG at base mag 2.4.... detail at 100 yards not any better.

    Its perfect for shooting steel at >500M.
    Why you want to do that, I dont know.
    It is Useless for a walking target due to clunky operation and pixelated magnification and multiple button pressing.
    The Non HD scopes are way better for hunting thinks that move... which is everything.

      @@HansETX great input and info. Sure appreciate your solid reviews and perspective.
      It's very useful, expensive, and complex equipment, and your input and expertise is an icredibly valuable resource for investing in these things, both for coyote and hog hunting! Thanks a bunch.
      But on the note of form factors/scopes. Can you tell me, why the trail/trail2 style of scopes are no longer available from Pulsar? It seems far better and cheaper a platform to build for a thermal/digital scope, as opposed to "reverting back" to the long cylindrical style of "classic" scopes of the thermion form-factor. It doesn't make any sense to me.
      Thanks again for the great channel! Sure appreciate your guy's advice, info, knowledge, and help.
